I hired Stanley Steemer to clean the tile floors in a home I was preparing for sale, and they did an excellent job. Based on that experience, I scheduled them for air duct cleaning at the same address. That's where things went downhill. After the duct cleaning, they showed me photos of the work and everything looked fine. But just three days later, during the buyer's inspection, we were shocked to find that residual dust & debris had been pulled into the air handler -- the same one they had just cleaned. This resulted in the buyers demanding an additional $1600 credit for a second duct cleaning and a UV light due to the level of contamination. When I called, they came out promptly and apologized profusely - said the duct had an S-curve in the attic and the dust had been stuck there and when they turned the air handler back on, that dust was pulled into it. If this situation occurs, why do they not check the air handler again before leaving? No one from SS warned me that residual dust might continue circulating and that the system should be rechecked. One of the managers (Matt, possibly a regional manager) said he was "mortified" by the photos the inspector took. But despite acknowledging the issue, Stanley Steemer refused any refund or financial resolution. The damage was already done, and unfortunately, I won't be recommending Stanley Steemer to any of my real estate clients moving forward. read more

Such a great guy and what wonderful work! Kamel and his helper did a fantastic job cleaning our white sofa and 8x11 rug. It was a pleasure to welcome him to our home. And today he came back to pick up what I thought was a hose connector. Turns out it was a part that stopped the shade on our standing lamp from flopping around. He fixed it. FYI, the water they use is in the truck. And they can service apartments up to the seventh floor. Am I impressed? You bet I am. We had our condo air ducts cleaned yesterday. The two technicians blew dust from our AC all over my condo. They used compressed air but didn't vacuum it up at the same time so my smoke alarms went off. I now have to have the entire condo cleaned. I want to start first with the positive, my tile floor that I have throughout my one bedroom one bath apartment 810 ft.² looks fantastic. It makes me smile all the time I'm definitely going to do this more often and I will use them again. My only complaint is though, I know quotes on the phone are subject to change- to charge for an extra room when it's not an extra room is a little sneaky. I think they should go by the square footage of the space and if rugs are included if they need extra care to get them clean, they charged me extra stating I had another room when it's just another area of my living room. But again my floors look great. I am happy and I will use them again and it's still a basically reasonable price. They were two gentlemen, one did most of the work and one cleaned up after him and I tipped them both. I think they deserved it. read more

Customer service after the job is finished is horrible. Had a issue so they expect you to take off from work again and wait for them for four hours on another day rather than come back and fix the problem. Would not use them again. The customer is treated with such disrespect, why would I want to use them in the future. There are good smaller companies who will treat you the customer with the respect one deserves. read more

Hired Stanley steamer to clean my carpets and sanitize pet owners. They completed the job and when I came back to look at it after it dried. They did not remove any of the stains in any of the five rooms nor did they get the pet smell out. I went And bought my own carpet cleaner and did it myself. It took me about 4 to 5 hours and I was able to get all the stains out and the pet odor. Stanley Steemer didn't even vacuum because I kept pulling pet hair out of the steam cleaner that I purchased. They were only there about an hour so they could've done a quality job. Do not hire this company. You'll regret it if you do. When you call to complain, they just passed the buck. We had some wine and chocolate stains on our new carpet after some company came with their kids and our regular carpet cleaner was booked up, so we decided to give them another try. Not trustworthy. The technician parked his van near my new car and dinged it when he opened his door. I called corporate, sent pictures of the damage to my car and spoke with someone named Matt. He said they are not responsible because nobody saw the technician damage my car. Even though there was yellow paint in the dent. Imagine the technician being in your home and destroying your property and lying that he didn't do it because you didn't see it. You call his boss Matt and Matt says tough luck. I've been dealing with Stanley Steamer for over 20 years and I've never had an experience like I've had. I called the corporate number and told them I wanted grout steamed and cleaned they emailed me a price of $277 excluding what they couldn't price with out seeing. A Sarasota franchise serviceman came out I showed him the 2 shower areas and the lanai He than quoted me $1\,200 This was so ridiculous I was beside myself. We had moved all the furniture everything was ready to go. I told him the price I was quoted he said he was going out to the truck and review the recorded call he than comes back and gives me another price we finally came to an agreement of $825 That still was too much but at that point I was going to do it because everything was moved and it was ready to go. Than the serviceman got a call and said I'll be back. I then get a call from the sarasota Stanely Steamer telling me that the serviceman had to see the area that needed to be done come to find out the serviceman left without any notice after we agreed on the price. Never in my life have I ever been treated like this with any company. I've been in BUISNESS all my life and always have emphasized on customer service. I just had my grout cleaned a few days ago, just before Christmas. I had used Stanley Steemer before, maybe two years ago, for this same project. My tile is white with beige grout. But the grout became dark despite floor washing. It was so exciting to see that, again, the two-person crew did a great job on the kitchen floor, the laundry room, and the foyer/entry hallway. The family said, "wow, look how great it looks now"! And they make it look easy, unlike when I get on my hands and knees and scub the grout! read more

I told the men before they left that there was still a stain by my front door, they told me that it was just the knap of the carpet and that when it dries out will be fine. It wasn't the knap, it was a stain, and it was still there once dry. After they left, I saw that they missed a large area in my bedroom as well. I made MANY phone calls to the store and spoke to two different people, one was a manager, both told me several times they'd call me back, then never did. I must have made 15 or 16 calls at the very least. Finally I called AGAIN and the manager said he'd refund my money and I should email him the receipt from the second company that I hired to come in after Stanley Steemers to do it right. Well I did that, but never got my refund. I will never use them again and I will tell everyone I know about their crap work, and crap customer service. In response to Mark G., I faxed that receipt three months ago. You claim you didn't receive it. As I told you or your manager on the phone, when I finally heard from you after faxing it, I no longer can find the receipt. This has been going on for well over a half a year. I tried calling you many times to get this fixed before going to someone else, but I had an inspection upcoming so I couldn't wait too long for you, but it was not immediately. It's a good thing I didn't wait for you because it took months to even get someone to speak to me. Had I waited for you, I would have failed my inspection. What you have done here is steal money from me, a long time customer who had never before had a complaint. I no longer care about the refund. What I care about now is taking my business to a company that respects its customers enough to right a situation promptly and courteously, and informing as many others as I can to do likewise to avoid being robbed and aggravated by Stanley Steemers. read more

Just had Stanley Steamer come to clean carpets at the house we are leasing. I had a wonderful price with a coupon. I called this morning--THEY CAME TODAY! Demetrious introduced himself, looked at the carpeted rooms, and then looked at the miles of tile in the rest of the house. He quoted me the cost if they came out again to do the tile and grout, and then since they were already here, quoted me a price less than half of that. The carpets look like new, and the tile and grout are positively looking like new. It took me 4 hours to scrub the grout in a 8x10 foot section. In 3 hours, Demetrious and his partner cleaned all the carpet, scrubbed and cleaned all the tile and grout, and carefully moved and replaced all the furniture. WOW. Terrible customer service!! I made an appointment weeks in advance with the North Port Florida location. Someone called me the day before to confirm and told me there was an earlier time slot available (8am) and I could be the first customer of the day. I am caring for my mom with Dementia so this was very helpful to me. I said yes, I would be at the property at 8. Not only was I NOT the first customer of the day, someone named Tim called at 9am and said he was down one person and they would be there late, (around 10) because his crew was still at their first stop. I told him I thought I was the first stop! This was horrible customer service! I changed my entire schedule, got care for my mom and they didn't care! He was defensive and blamed the person out sick. I would never use this company again. The two workers seemed very disoriented and lazy. They tried to walk off job saying their hose was not long enough. It was plenty long. They did not move boxes and most furniture. They did not place protectors under all furniture. They also charged for a small walk in closet that was filled with boxes so it actually was an area about 4x4. They didn't clean under beds, dressers and sofas, so I would say they only cleaned about 2/3s of the carpet. I called to complain and was promised a call back from the manager, but never heard a word. See some of the other reviews. I've never used Stanley Steemer before and was pleasantly surprised at both the price and results. The 3 rooms of carpeting had not been cleaned in several years and was badly stained. i called stanley to clean my tile....asked how much they charged ..we cant tell you that....mind you, i measured it out same as the guys who showed up!...they looked around said" this is all their is"?....i said yes about 180sqft.....".he looked at me and said its 585 dollars .....i laughed at him told them im good ..thats 3 dollars a square ft you know" i stated he said yea!...thats nuts!.....i paid 4 dollars sq ft to install it!.....found a private guy who was much easier to work with at less than half the price and a perfect job i might add!.......stanley has priced itself outa the market according to google and several search engines !...do your homework before you call anyone! read more

Stanley Steemer of Sarasota required a three hour service window and then missed that very large window by 21 minutes. They didn't have the courtesy to call to let us know they were running late. When we called the office 1/2 hour before the end of the service window, the office had no idea when the truck would show up and didn't bother to find out. Relocating to Sarasota I drove 2hrs to sit at our empty house to have my carpets cleaned. At 2:30 I called to make sure they would be on time and was told that they were running behind and that I was the next stop and should be there shortly after 3 and they would call 1/2 hour before they arrive. Which means they would be LATE...So I waited till 3 then got a call from Stanley Steemer in Orlando to tell me that they were running behind and that I was the next in line but could be an hour later!!! Needless to say our conversation was not good on my end and was not wasting any more of my time with them.
