Stanley Steemer arrived at the beginning of the time range they promised and worked quickly and carefully.

Don't mess around trying to find the lowest price...just call these guys. I made the mistake of trying to do that and ended up calling Stanley Steemer again after being disgusted with a lower cost competitor. SS's Nathan was quiet, respectful, hardworking and did a wonderful job. He worked extra hard trying to get a difficult pet food spot out and didn't charge me extra. SS maximum room size is 300 sq. ft. before it counts as two rooms. Other cleaners have a low maximum of 200 sq. ft which ups the price fooling you into thinking you'll get a better deal at first blush with some other companies. SS is honest and hardworking, even if you pay slightly more it is SO WORTH IT. read more

I called Stanley steamer twice once for a quote and once to book and got two different prices, but book any ways. I had them clean the carpet in two rooms and the stairs. They were here for maybe a hour at most. While they cleaned the carpets in the living room and dining I stayed in the a different to work. It looks like they put little to no effort to cleaning the carpet as they still looked stained. Then when the carpet dried they were hard with a crusty film. I'd used Stanley Steemer many times in the past and was always happy with the service, however, starting in 2014 the quality went downhill. The telephone staff and the scheduler (I think his name was Bill) were exceptionally rude and spiteful. If you schedule a cleaning with them don't dare to call during the 4 hour window to ask if they have any idea about what time they might arrive. You'll get punished and be put at the back of the line. Twice, they actually didn't show up until about 1-2 minutes before the last hour. I used another service today and am delighted with their professionalism. I would not ever recommend SS to friends again. read more

I am very disappointed in the experience I had with your Milwaukee branch. One of the associates dropped the steam gun and dented my floor. Both of the cleaners were helpful and urgently filed an incident report and assured me that this would be taken care of with the highest level of service and respect. The floor was less than a week old. The following Monday when I got a call from the territory manager, he asked me to reach out to the company who put in our floor for an estimate to replace and send it to him to be rectified. When I reached out to our floor installer, they let me know that per the installer he will need to take out a bunch of flooring to get back to the 3 dented pieces as they are in the middle of the floor and it is a 'click in' floor. The quote was $495. The purpose of LVP is to wick away any moisture to provide the best barrier to water damage, which is why it was selected. I sent the quote back to the manager on Wednesday and just spoke with him where my entire experience and opinion of Stanley Steemer has now changed. In my phone call (which I hope was recorded), he told me that the quote I received was unreasonable and he would not cover the cost. He said that he reached out to installers as well and the cost would be half of what I was quoted. To this I asked what their process would be as it was quite surprising to me as they had been the lowest cost out of any other flooring contractor we worked with. To this he told me that they would cut out the flooring instead of properly removing the flooring around the 3 pieces. I was honestly shocked and told him this would be unacceptable as these pieces would not be connected to one another like they are today, which is the purpose to with stand moister. After stating this, I was blatantly spoken to as if I had no idea what I was talking about. He was condescending and unreasonable in his approach with me, and I cannot believe the customer service that I received. I have never been spoken to nor approached in such a manor all over $495. I asked for this to be elevated because this was not acceptable and it has been over a week and I have still not been called back. This is the worst service I have ever received and now I have a dent in my floor without a fix coming. read more

If I was able to give less that 1 star I would. I was recommended this company by a affiliate who said they were the most courteous company and did a great job. After my experience, I conferred with my connection and was informed that the crew they had was for a different location/ hub. That being said, I do not think I can accurately say the company is bad, but I can certainly say this crew that I had was horrendous! 1 guy seemed like he was just the side-kick and just along for the ride.... glad to see they use their personnel wisely. So much to the fact that when I had an issue, he deferred to the other guy and was not sure what to do. He actually stood watching the guy do the whole job! In training? Not sure, but did not seem professional on ANY level. But, that was just the scratch of the surface. After arriving 3 hours late(!!!), they proceeded to map out the space and figure out where they would set up. When the consult came they mentioned that they might need a sink to connect to for their water supply. When the crew arrived, I mentioned where one was, and they looked at me as though I had a third eye and informed me they never need a sink and that it is all out of their van. Hmmmm, this should have been an indicator for what was about to come..... BAD communication. After resolving where they were going to set up, they informed me that they may have to reschedule because they may not have the proper equipment needed! Strike 1 - arriving 3 hours late! Strike 2 - Possibly needing to reschedule because you may not have the proper equipment. Again, not the most professional group..... After "working" for about 20 minutes, the head guy came to me to inform me they were finished. I was stunned that they did the whole job in just 20 minutes. After voicing my amazement, the head guy was unaware a secondary service was purchased and looked at me stunned. Strike 2 1/2 - there is that BAD communication again. He consoled with his other half and went to go complete the other job. While prepping for the other job, I happened to look over the space that they claimed to "clean" and was amazed.... and not in a good way. Right in the middle of the carpet I same a BIG ball of carpet lint! Not 2 feet away from it, a small piece of plastic! I asked them if they actually vacuumed and if they had, how there was this debris still there. The head guy replied with "I promise you that was not there." Whoa! Strike 3! Maybe even strike 4 as well! Not only did he not apologize, he accused me of putting it there! Later on he tried to blame the issue on his equipment stating that if I was closer to his van it would be able to clean more up! After asking him if being closer to his van, if I would get a better clean job, he replied "yes, its science". Wow, just wow. The same guy who said they use the same equipment for 10 story buildings is now telling me that my space that was but a couple hundred feet from his van, if even that, is telling me that I did not get the best cleaning because of my distance from his van. This just made me wonder how "clean" they get 10 story buildings then because I have to believe that the van can be several hundred feet away at those times! Upon further inspection of the space, I noticed there was bout a 2 inch border all along the walls that was still dirty (yes, I broke out the tape measure because I was curious). The guy proceeded to inform me that they are unable to get all the way against the wall and that a border would be left. Let me guess.... bad equipment? At this point I have lost count of how many strikes these guys have taken because I could have done a better job than them. The very final strike came at the end when he asked me if I was having a bad day because I was not happy, can you blame me? I proceeded to inform him that I was having a fine day until they came. Instead of saying "I'm sorry about the situation", or something along those lines, he tried to recant with "Sir, I don't understand why you are upset, we have done nothing wrong." Again...wow. I can understand that there are times the customer is not right, but to say that?! After letting the space sit for a full day and not allowing anything or anyone on it, I took out my shop vac and much to my surprise, though not really, I was able to get to the corner of all the walls and clean the space they said they were unable to clean AND with my regular vacuum, I picked up even more debris! In the end, I now know that I will most certainly NEVER be calling these guys to come out again. It may be nice to pay for someone else to clean my space, but it is only worth it if I do not have to clean it up afterwards as well. read more

I wish it were possible for me to leave zero stars. It took a week to get an appointment. I wanted them to come and clean two couches and a chair in my private practice. Time is very much money when you were in private practice so I had to cancel a day of clients in order to accommodate them coming and Cleaning my three items. They showed up 45 minutes late for the first appointment and even though they were given the address they didn't ask any clarification questions whatsoever on the phone about where the nearest water supply was. Mind you Stanley Steamer had come to my old practice and they had no difficulty running a hose from the sink in the bathroom down the hallway to my practice. But for some reason this time they couldn't do that. I told them that I had cleared a whole day and it was costing me hundreds of dollars, after they asked if they could come back on some other day with the mobile unit. They did make arrangements to come back laterThat morning. At that point they announced that my sectional would be charged double. They also tried to upsell me protectant on my furniture. Their new fee for cleaning the sectional that they didn't even ask about what kind of couch it was, was an additional $80. At this point I just threw them out of my office. Don't use Stanley Steamer. I have never written an online review about any business but felt compelled to warn people about this business. As others have said, this is an awful group: unprofessional, dishonest, unpleasant to deal with and rude. We wanted carpets cleaned for a wedding. Immediately after they finished with our carpet, it was clear that they had left a long dribble stain in a hallway that even they admitted wasn't there before. They sent a team out 2 days later to "investigate" and they found the same thing but said it wasn't their fault. This began a 2 month long saga trying to get anyone from Stanley Steemer to even return phone calls. They insisted WE had caused the stain even though it wasn't there before they came. Finally, after threatening to get an attorney, they sent an "independent investigator" to "test" the carpet (6 weeks after it was damaged.) He concluded (surpise) that it wasn't their fault. As others have said, these guys are dishonest, they stall, they are completely unprofessional and they should not be in business. If I could give them 0 stars even that would be too many. I wanted to get the carpets and bathroom floor cleaned in my home. I set up an appointment with Stanley Steemer online and I also received a quote. It was all pretty simple. I thought I was going to pay around four hundred to have the carpets and bathroom floor cleaned. When they arrived the gentlemen were very nice and professional. Then I learned how expensive the service is. Everything is considered a separate room. My hallway and my loft are all together but considered two separate rooms. I have more then twelve stairs which is an extra charge. I actually have fifteen stairs. What am I going to say once they are here, don't clean three stairs. The small hallway in my bathroom was also an extra charge of ninety dollars. I also, decided to purchase an extra three cleanings for five hundred dollars to be done in a year. Once I received my bill the total was eighteen hundred dollars. I am do disappointed and disgusted with this company. So, I decided to call the office because I wanted a refund for the five hundred dollars. I decided I did not want this company back in my home. I am still having a hard time getting the refund. Will never use this company again in the future. Employees are very rude on the phone and not helpful at all. They were supposed to be arriving at our apartment between 2-6 and showed up almost an hour late. Then they couldn't even do the job because the materials they brought weren't long enough to reach into the apartment. So then they had to reschedule us for the next day and we called to see if we could get an estimated time of arrival due to the trouble we had yesterday and no one could give us answers. This has been the worst service we have ever received. I would never recommend them to anyone unless they want to waste 8 hours of your time and lose money because of having to take off work. read more

I have used Stanley Steemer on numerous occasions and have always had a fantastic experience. This time was no different. They called me when they were 20 minutes from arriving, two very polite, professional young men came in and got right to work. I had wanted an estimate to have my hardwood floors cleaned, (I had got a quote on-line, but wanted to see what they would say in person), and Antonio explained the whole procedure and gave me a huge discount ($200 CHEAPER than the on-line quote!)! They cleaned my carpet and hardwood floors, helping me clear out the kitchen, hallway and entry way so they could get started. The carpet was finished in less than an hour, and the hardwoods took another 1 1/2 hours. Antonio had me check the floor each step of the way and I am so very pleased with the result! My husband the floor don't look brand new, but pretty damn close! Will use Stanley Steemer again and again. Thank You!! read more

They have very friendly and efficient employees and I know my carpets are clean when they are done because they have a powerful truck mounted unit that uses fresh, softened water. I had the grout cleaned in our walk in shower. It had discolored from a cleaning product and was unsightly. The 2 guys were very nice, chatty, explained every step. They were very careful with my woodwork as far as dragging their hoses in and out. No complaints at all. Grout looks good. I just called them back to clean my relatives' carpet. read more

Cleaners arrived in the last 1/2 hour of 3 hour window.I have been using Stanley Steemer for years on my home and rental properties, but service the past 2 years is going down hill and prices are increasing rapidly. My last experience was horrible. Rep more interested in selling other products that are extremely pricey. We felt like we had to watch over them as we had to ask them to go over areas more then once. One rep left our water on and we did not discover it for a couple days as we were gone for a couple days. We got water in our basement, so manager came out with a fan. Really!! What about our well and sump pump that were continually running. Our electric bill really went up with fan, sump pump, and well running constantly. We are on "time of use" with WE Energies, so have to pay double for electricity during the day. Never again. Not worth it. read more

I had two men out to clean my carpet and furniture on 4/23/15. First of all one of them was in constant sales pitch. I was already spending almost $700 for a few rooms of carpet and a room of furniture but that wasn't enough. He kept trying to sell more and more and when I told him no he would ask why! I have a business and really wanted to get some work done thinking they would just do the job I asked. He even tried to sell me on cleaning my hardwood floors which I don't even have-they are lamanite. When they said they finished I went and saw the rocker had not been touched when that was a piece of furniture I paid to have cleaned. I asked them if they cleaned it and got an "oh". They had already put all of the hoses etc. away and had to bring everything back in. I was upstairs and heard a crash of something being broken. When I went downstairs later after they said they were done I asked them what had broken. One of them said "Oh, I was going to tell you. It was just one of your plates". Not even an apology. When they left I found they had also broken my temperature gauge-it was lying with the glass off and pieces out, a small clock I had on a plant stand had the batteries out and a piece of wood chipped so it evidentally fell also. I had asked them if they wanted me to move anything I had not moved and they said no, they would get it. Mostly everything was moved beforehand. I was not impressed by these two at all.
