Worst experience ever. They took advantage of my 70 year old parents. My mom had damage to the rear passenger door. Simple remove and replace. Stanley's had the car for over 2 months!! My parents being trusting, signed the insurance check over to Stanley's when they dropped the car off. Complete mistake. Stanley was trying to charge them an additional $500 to release the car and ended up scamming them for an addition $250. Pathetic Btw, Stanley's master mechanic/shop boss has retired so the shop has gone to complete chaos. Stop by and witness yourself. Go to scripts in prospect. read more

I wanted someone to go check out a car I was looking at buying from out of state. I cold called the friendly folks at Stanley's and not only were they willing to go to the seller's business and do the inspection the next day, after which gave me a very thorough report, but did not want to be paid for their excellent service. I have no trouble believing the very high ratings they have from other customers. I would definitely use them for any auto body work I need. The world needs more people like them! read more

We brought in our 2015 Hyundai for some body work, and they went over our car with a fine tooth comb! They were prompt, courteous and efficient! The car was done just when they said it would be, and it looks like new! We weren't able to pick it upon Friday as planned, and had to wait until Monday, and they had us wait until they gave it another quick wash, so it would look it's best for us! So ill just state that i tried to use this business in early 2022. a tow company wrecked my car. I took it to stanley autobody for them to try to get my car fixed orignally. The brother there kept giving me the run around at the start and said to get the parts needed to fix it myself ( which i did ) I proceeded to replace a lot of the broken body parts that were on my vehicle and i took it back to them. I asked if they could just align the body parts correctly and give my car a paint job so the used parts would match. Instead of working with me, the old fart with glasses gave it a look over and then proceedes to say " get it off my lot. you touched and put it together it instead of letting us put it together " The man litterally screamed at me for no reason when i asked him why he didnt want my business or money. I didnt ask for a lot. So what if i put the parts on it? Im wanting to pay your business to help me finish the repair and align the parts and paint my car. Why tell me off by swearing and yelling at me when questioned? what i was told " ohh we dont want to ruin our reputation of our business " How does a customer coming in asking for help to have my car be finished and get certain repairs i couldnt do myself be that much of a problem to your reputation? After that I took it to a business more than willing to put my car back together and gave it a nice fresh coat of paint. They were happy to get my insurance money. No questions asked! So too bad for you stanley autobody. My car is looking a lot better and i hope your important " reputation " makes you go out of business. read more

For their location, (since Waterbury isn't the best town, and Baldwin street is one of the worst streets) I was nervous when my girlfriend had to stop in with an emergency (she was local and her car door would not close). Fortunately they helped her and were kind enough and competitive enough in their pricing that we now have an appointment on Friday to fix the doors that weren't opening from the outside after her trouble. Honestly just based on their behavior and willingness to help, I'd give them 5 stars but I want to see how Friday goes. if Friday goes great, I will come back and update my review, give them another star. After getting a few quotes from a handful of autobody shops and didnt at all feel comfortable with any;Stanley's was my last chance and so glad that i went here after almost giving up. I drove in without an appointment told them my car was involved in a hit and run and it had extensive hood,grill and possible under the hood damage. I really liked the manner and professionalism of Mike he assured he could help me so i would not have to pay thousand of dollars out of pocket. I had a good feeling and brought my car back in later that week ; and had my car fixed so it was at least safe to drive meaning my hood would not fly up as i was driving. In the future i will return to get my grill and hood replaced and bring it only here because it is the only honest trustworthy shop i met thus far. Thanks guys read more

One would expect as a first time customer at this place to receive good service in order to earn my business. What happened was totally the opposite. They have the worst service, the worst timings and on top of all the worst attitude and disrespect to the customer. I brought my car to be repaired and it stayed there for 11 days before they even touched it. I was originally told it would be done within a week. When I called to inquire, the owner made me feel that he is doing me a favor by starting to work on my car. About 10 days later when it was done and I went to pick it up, I found one of the parts is still damaged and did not get replaced at all. They got very mad that I pointed it out. I could have easily refused to pick up my car until it was all done and had them deal with the insurance and rental place but I did not want to do that to them. I picked up the car and came back to get the part replaced and the owner was furious and disrespectful and kept yelling in my face for no reason except apparently that he had to touch my car again. This is the worst customer service I received at any business I have been to in my entire life. There is nothing worth dealing with these people ever again. read more

He took care of everything from start to finish between dealing with the insurance company to making sure the repairs were fixed and flawless. The crew there did an incredible job on my car. The attention to detail is completely out of this world, the color match is absolutely perfect, Jose the autobody tech is a complete master mind as well as the painter Alex and the detail tech Al. My car looks like the accident never happened and as if the car is straight out of the dealership. I will recommend this place to everyone and any one and I will never go anywhere else. I have been going to Stanley's for years, and they have always been awesome. It's family owned and in its 2nd generation of ownership. Mark and his staff do very thorough and detailed work all the way down to the nuts and bolts.
