They had my Subaru car for over a month and a half, stringing me along, telling parts were coming tomorrow. After all that time, they finally took it for a test run and said it needed a wheel hub ...they said it would be another 1K on top of already 3.3k that was already a few hundred over the estimate. In the meantime was using my backup old Ford that had gotten a flat tire...they charged me another 1.9k, $500 over what I expected to pay. To make things worse they damaged something on the truck, as when I would go backward to the right, I would feel a rubbing or grinding. Also, the steering wheel became loose and really shaky. The next day, it began to sound like the brakes were going as they began to grind, when they were hardly used and newish brakes. Going down a small incline, the breakline popped. They took no responsibility for it. I had another shop tow me and repair the damage they did. Finally, I picked up the Subaru, I drove two doors down, and the battery light went on. Now, the battery and brake lights go on as the headlights dim, and the security alarm is set off uncontrollably, not being able to turn it off or turn my car on, leaving me stranded in the Shop Right parking lot. I had to use a hack that another garage told me to do, because Classic Coach doesn't return a call an hour after I picked the car up, nor ever, not the next day. As classic ...the wheel hub still isn't fixed, but I don't want them near my car, and I'm taking it to a different garage that fixed the truck that Classic Coach broke and charged me for. On top of all this, I had to rent a car for one week. Classic coach replaced the radiator but did not put any antifreeze or coolant in the reservoir, foutunately I discovered it because I popped the hood as the car drove terribly. The male mechanics in the shop are very honest, as I had money and valuable things there that were not touched. I especially would not recommend them if you are paying out of pocket and you do not have deep, deep pockets. I dreaded dealing with a woman by the name of Lauren, who is in the office, who I found to be pushy, insensitive, and controlling ( would not let me talk to the mechanics who worked on my car, insisted that I buy road-only tires for my truck that goes off-road at times, and she exhibited other strange behavior). read more

I brought my van to be repaired after an accident. After they completed the work, I went to pick it up. The front end parts were not aligned properly hood corner panel and wheel, trim. They kept it another day made the corrections. The next day I went to pick it up. The engine was making noise. The mechanic came out and said it was air in the transmission lines it will work it's way out. Well it didn't. I took it to my mechanic, and they found that they did not replenish the transmission fluid and it was down 2 1/2 quarts of fluid. Then I took the van on vacation while on the road the check, engine light came on. Brought it to the neared dealership to check the code and found there was a cooling fan for the transmission not working and it's wire harness not connected. Also wires going to a computer were loose. I cannot recommend them. read more

My brother was in town with his family (3 small kids including a baby) and locked their keys in the car. After spending over an hour trying to get a solution from the rental car company and insurance roadside assistance, I called Classic Coach. Within 10 minutes someone was there and had the car opened. Everyone we dealt with was kind, caring, communicative and (most importantly, in this case) very quick to act. I opened a road side call through AAA. I was told that AAA doesnt give rides. So I called AAA national headquarters to let them know I would be canceling my service after 22 years. The lady asked if i wanted to cancel my service call. I said no. Your driver showed up. Went to meet him . he looked at his tablet and said the service call was cancled. Said i needed to call into AAA again. Drove off and left me there.. Now I know two services here that I wont ever recommend.... AAA and your company... you really need to offer some customer service trainning at you business.. I know I would be looking for new work if I ever treated a customer this way read more

AAA dispatched Classic Coach Works to assist us with a flat tire while we were 300 miles from home. Lauren was friendly, professional & knowledgeable. She put us at ease immediately. All the local tire shops were closed, but she found a mobile tire service that could do the job for $150. She told them no thanks on our behalf & instead suggested she tow us in the morning to a local tire shop. The tire repair was less than $15. I am from New York and when I got a flat tire on the highway in Connecticut, AAA dispatched this company to me. They were very quick, got to me within 20 minutes and took about 5 minutes to change my tire. Douglas, the employee who helped me went above and beyond. He was very nice and courteous. While chatting briefly he explained he had just gotten off of a 36 hour shift and was in his car about to head home when he received my call. Instead of making me wait extra time for another driver who was busy on a call, he decided to do one last call and help me out. Some people would be cranky after such a long shift and would have either just gone home or had an attitude with the customer. Douglas, however, was all smiles. He even made sure to explain to me the risk of transmission problems if I drove with a tire on that was different than the rest. read more

I contacted AAA (via the roadside APP) for a flat tire. Within a minute, I got a confirmation from Classic Coach Works that someone was on the way. Literally, the truck arrived in 10 minutes! A special shout out to the driver/technician named Bob who was super courteous, communicative, down to earth and helpful with tips (like, d a reminder to not drive over 50mph with a donut tire on). Not good... James was by far the rudest mechanic I have ever talked to. No paying client should ever be made to feel stupid for asking questions about the work done on their vehicle, especially when the final cost is over 40% higher than the quote. The awful thing was that nobody called to inform/update me of the increase until after the work was done. Also, if the mechanic is going to get upset and make wise comments when a client asks for the parts that were removed from the vehicle, then he should remove the question from the sheet you need to fill out when dropping off the car which asks the client if they would like to keep the parts. I recommend bringing your car somewhere else for service. read more

Had a great experience with these guys. My sons Dodge Dakota that we just bought him which is an older used car broke down on his way to high school. We called AAA who set us up with a tow truck and a local mechanic. The tow truck driver called me directly and him and AAA were willing to let me not stay with the car because I work in healthcare and had to be at work urgently so I would leave keys with truck and they would pick up. He was awesome to work with his name was Richard. I hung up with him and he left me his cell phone and it dawned on me I should check and see who he worked for since AAA was just sending him for the tow. I called him back and asked if his shop repaired cars and if he just wanted to take my car there since I had no attachment to the other shop. He didn't know how busy they were and it was early in the morning before shop was open but he said he will call the owner and see if they could get the car in and if they have time to work on it. He quickly called back and said they could do the repair. From there it was a great experience I called the shop when it opened gave my name and I heard back from them later that same day what was wrong with the car and a very reasonable price to fix it. They were busy but estimated they could have it done in two days. Got the car back a little more than 48 hours later, running great everybody that I spoke to on the phone was fantastic. My son even loved the fact that it felt like a family when he went to pick up his car as they had two pugs hanging out in the office. Would highly recommend, everything you want a Mechanic to be l: prices were fair work was fast and good people were friendly and responsive. Will definitely use again. read more

I dinged a fellow parent's car in the parking lot at our school. It was a scratch that crossed the rear door and rear quarter panel. I wanted to avoid using our insurance, thinking that between our policy's high deductible and the potential consequences to our rates, it would be best to self pay. This was a mistake, as most of you would predict off the bat. Lesson learned... Anyway, when I called to pay the bill, I wanted to speak to the "estimator" who, it turns out is also the owner. The woman answering the phone would not put him on the phone, nor give me a better time to call back. I was calling for two reasons. For one, I was hoping that he could make some accommodation/adjustment to the estimate, given it was self pay. She put me on hold and told me that they had taken this into account at the time they made the Estimate. Fair enough, but when I asked if I could speak directly to Jim, the woman said, no he's at lunch. (clearly within earshot of my questions). I simply wanted to speak directly to the person who drew up the estimate. I believed erroneously that a 1,300.00 job to repair and repaint the door and panel was worth two minutes of his time to speak directly to me. I quickly dropped the second reason I wanted to speak to him given his unwillingness to have a direct conversation. Ironically, our car was hit over the weekend and the other party was 100% at fault. The person's insurance company needed the name of the shop where we were going to get the car repaired. I had considered using these guys, as clearly the parent I'd inconvenienced with dinging their car, liked them. But when the owner couldn't be bothered to ask me to phone back at a more convenient time, or take a moment from his lunch to speak to me directly, i knew this was not the shop for us. The owner has since phoned back..seems the office manager did not understand I wanted to speak with Jim. (I asked not once, but twice, and at the end, I said "I take it he doesn't want it speak to me" ) Jim apologized for the miscommunication. Appreciated the call back. read more

I recently was in an accident and AAA towed my car to Classic Coach Works. My car was deemed totalled and I had to pick up all my belongings from the car. I had a ton of change and $15 of bills, and am extremely happy to say that it was not taken. Cash could easily have been "misplaced" or somehow found its way to a pocket, especially such a small amount. the worst place to have your car services. extremely high on price and unprofessional. last time my car was repaired there, I was overcharged significantly and later check engine light came on and it turned out that the the they left one of engine hoses lose which caused an engine light to come on. read more

I was recommended this garage from a coworker after hearing of the excellent care they had given her (she was brand new to the area). I have had multiple issues with my car in the past and have been to 90% of the garages in this town as well as surrounding areas only to be left with the same sour opinion of most of them. This garage far and beyond continues to be the BEST I have ever been to, in regards to not only customer service but also quality of care. The absolutely awesome mechanic here takes the time to make sure I understand what I need and don't need and his advice has always been spot on. When I realized this place does so much more than body damage repair as far as service and maintenance, I wished I had know about them sooner, I would have never have gone anywhere else. Then the other day my brother locked him self out of his car in the Southbury Plaza we called Triple A and who came to the rescue; Classic Coach.
