Just received my furniture today. I purchased a couch, 2 recliners, a kitchen table with 4 chairs and 2 chairs for my kitchen island. Everything was custom, I picked the fabrics, the pillows, the type of chairs, the base of the table, etc. So many choices. I got exactly what I was looking for. They were so helpful, let me take home fabric and wood samples. I absolutely love all my furniture! So pleasant to work with and the delivery driver was so nice and careful with everything. Chris was our sales person. He was very pleasant and helpful before we ordered two couches. He assured us in February that we would have our couches by mid April. In late March I called to check the status and he told me the furniture should arrive by the 4th of July! He denied ever telling us April. He is extremely passive aggressive. So, I have to put this out there to the public. Back in August, My boyfriend & I ordered a new sectional couch with chaise from Stanleys. I have basically bought ALL my furniture from them for the past 35 years. Ive bought 2 sofa sets, a single couch, a recliner, a dinette set, an entertainment center, 2 coffee tables, my daughters 1st bedroom set and a bakers rack. I think thats the complete list. Never a problem. The 1st est delivery was 10 to 12 weeks, bringing me anywhere from Nov 7th to Nov 21st. Please note, I had sent an inquiry online using the NC manufacturers website and they replied to me via email that delivery for their fabric furniture was 6 to 8 weeks. On Nov 1st I called the store I ordered from to check in on how production/delivery was going. The following week I received a call back telling me that I wouldnt get my furniture until END of DECEMBER. I was shocked. I asked if the manufacturer was impacted by Hurricane Helene. I was told it was not. I was told it "was in production." My instinct told me that SOMEONE dropped the ball on my order big time, whether it was the store or the manufacturer. On Nov. 13th the store called me and said due to the severe delay, they were cancellng the delivery and set up fee. Great! Thanks Ok. No furniture for Thanksgiving. Hoped to have it by Christmas. Christmas has come and gone and nothing. Yesterday, I call the store. Speak to a woman who pulls my order and sees the November contact. She tells me theres no information that it has even been put on a truck yet to come to NY. I told her my instinct was that someone dropped the ball either on the store's end or the manufacturer and told her what the manufacturer told me delivery on fabric items was. I asked if the store had a system to even see they still had an order OPEN from AUGUST!!! I asked if the store ever expedites orders on their own or do they wait until Customers call. I told her how upset I was with the lack of transparency as to what the exact delay was due to.... fabric? Lack of manufacturer employees? What??? If fabric was a problem I should have gotten a call LONG ago to pick something else. I was assured she didnt know. Didnt know???? So, now I wait to hear this week as the corporate furniture store office is closed over the weekend as well as the manufacturer is closed until January 2nd. This stores system of checking open orders is unacceptable. At this point, im even wondering if Ill ever get my furniture. I will report to the BBB bureau and start a civil suit if I do not get a satisfactory response this week. read more

We ordered a couch from Stanley's and we were told 8-10 weeks. 5 months later we received the couch with no ottoman. We waited an additional two months to complete the couch. We also noticed all the legs on the couch were different colors. When I called the manage told me the company that made our couch is out of business but I could unscrew the leg of the color I wanted and bring it to him at the store and he could see if he had additional legs "around the store". OR o could take all the legs off and bring them to him and he could paint them all one color. The couch was $6k. I would never work with them again. read more

We purchased our couch from a very polite gentleman named Robert. It was a floor model sectional and a hardwood table, the table alone was $900. Upon receipt of the furniture, we noticed that the hardwood table was damaged. The shop told us to keep the table until they could get a replacement. The delivery was back in March and we have asked several times for an update on the delivery of this table. We have also just found out that our sofa is infested with carpet Beatles. We have also asked for an official email on company letterhead to confirm that the table was on order. We have to date received an email from Chris Cartwright's personal email and not the company's. My partner called the store this morning to get an update and also pointed out to Chris that he was supposed to have returned our call of last week but didn't. After some back and forthChris told my partner that we should be thankful that the store had agreed to change the table! With that Chris then hung up the phone! I received a call on my phone 5 minutes later from Chris who went on to say the table will not arrive until the end of June. Again, I asked for written confirmation from STANLEY's company email or something on Stanley's letterhead and he refused. Got even more nasty and hung up on me as well. We had an excellent experience with Stanley Furniture when we purchased our dining room set. The customer service was outstanding! We worked with Chris initially, then when another rep came to the house to measure, he was a fabulous design partner. The furniture arrived as scheduled, in perfect condition, and a couple of months after when we noticed the table was not operating smoothly with the leaf, one phone call and they were here = took care of everything quickly. (Update at the bottom) I wish I could tell you about my couches (we ordered 3), but 3 months later (with a delivery date of 6-8 weeks) I'm still without them. I called and spoke with Chris, the manager. He was absolutely the rudest person I've dealt with. If you want to know why you have a 2 star rating on BBB & Yelp - look no further than this guy. Am I being unreasonable expecting my couch 3 months later?! Here's the thing I know that they have 2 of my couches and that they are waiting on the 3rd. Aug 2 2022 I ordered a recliner from Chris the salesman at Stanley's. He said it would take a couple of months. It's now Nov. 19 2022 & have not heard a word about my order. I have called several times & have gone back to the store to get a status. Chris has done nothing for me & has been very nasty. I contacted Better Business Bureau & my credit card company, but this all takes time. I've already wasted almost 4 months waiting. Next step will be small claims court. My husband went in to speak to Andrew the salesman that sold us the furniture a few hours ago. We were told 3-5 weeks for delivery it is now 8 weeks later. The manager Chris told him it takes several days to get an answer on when deliveries are available and to stop coming in the store the answer will not change. When my husband went back at him explaining we have been getting no answers he told my husband to leave the store and tried to act tough toward him with my son there. Totally unprofessional. We are not happy with it. Tried to come to some kind of a solution after "going through the channels" with Stanley's. The bottom line without getting too much into it, after going and TRYING to speak to Chris the manager(he seriously needs to brush up on his customer service skills). Stanleys Furniture Alert!! I used to rave about this store. They know me by name bc ive ordered so much of my furniture from there. I kept returning bc the staff was always so helpful. Not this time! I ordered furniture 7 months ago and called for an ETA. Was told they would follow up with the manufacturer and get back to me. Weeks go by.. Crickets. I call back to get the same answer..again crickets. The cycle continues for about a month. No one returns calls or emails. I work in customer service, all I needed was a call back to say they were still waiting and working on it. Ignoring the conversation all together is terrible. I was looking to maybe find a different set or up for another option at this point. i was very understanding and patient till now. I mean if your conpany is neglected by the manufacturer, you would think they would go elsewhere! It's a poor excuse! Another set I ordered for my daughter arrived 6 months later with a broken draw. They said they will order the part and send a tech out to fix it. I have zero confidence that will happen. Referral and reviews go a long way. Wow, I can't believe ppl have poor ratings for this place. I was walking down Main Street in Patchogue and I looked in the window and saw the most beautiful dining room set ever. I knew that was it. I went in spoke to some people ordered it, supposedly got a semi decently good deal, and it arrived just like they said it would. Now I am a big do-it-yourself person and I like to shop around for deals. However if you are looking for solid good quality furniture, you are going to have to spend some cash people. I have bought plenty of crap from Wayfair for super cheap and has been very disappointed. I have been Furniture shopping for years all over Long Island. This place really has a lot of things I like. I think they have a diverse selection, and I'm not talking about a huge high heel chair. Their bedroom sets have a huge variety of Decor styles. Ordered 2 chairs in December was told it would be available late March early April then the 2nd week in May now it's pushed to June. According to them they have no contact with the factory that the furniture comes from. Every time I call no matter who i speak to they are rude and defensive. They have very poor customer service. They have 300$ of my money and I have absolutely nothing and I guarantee I will not see those chairs in June. I will absolutely 100% refuse delivery after June. Our furniture was ordered with Stanleys Furniture in Patchogue on July 5, 2021. We ordered a sofa and armchair and added the extended warranty. At the time of purchase we discussed with Andrew (one of the owners at Stanleys) the current supply chain issues. When asked about a timeline for delivery, Andrew responded " orders are averaging 6-8 weeks and joked that we'll see you in September". Based on that response we placed our order. Mid September 2021 we came into Stanleys for an update on our order. Andrew was not there but we saw another staff member, Chris (?). Chris stated that Andrew would never have told us that our furniture would be ready in 6-8 weeks as orders were averaging 6-8 months to deliver. Trust me, if Andrew had told us 6-8 months we would not have placed our order with Stanleys. I emailed Andrew on September 15, 2021 looking for clarification but never received a response to that email. Late October 2021 we came into the store again. Andrew wasn't there that day either but his partner (brother) was. He was clearly agitated as both the people in front of us and those behind us were also looking for updates on their orders. Andrew's partner advised that he wouldn't even ask the manufacturer for a status update until December 2021. On December 26, 2021 I again reached out to Andrew by email looking for a status update. He responded to that email stating that the manufacturer was closed for the holidays and that he would provide an update when they reopened the following week. Andrew responded on January 4, 2022 with a vague update that the furniture would be ready for delivery in March or April. March 15, 2022 after not hearing anything further from Andre or anyone else at Stanleys, I reached out by email again. Andrew responded two days later that the items were due to be delivered to their local warehouse in the beginning of May. Not knowing that I had reached out, my wife also asked Andrew for an update and he advised that the sofa and armchair had an expected delivery of early June. Not sure how we received two different answers but this has been consistent with our experience at Stanleys. On June 2, 2022 my wife emailed Andrew again to confirm that the sofa and armchair would be ready for delivery as noted in his prior communication with her. His response was that the factory was closed and that he would need to check with them for a status update. My wife responded that we needed a confirmed arrival date (not the vague responses we had consistently been receiving) or we would be contacting Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. A week later my wife received a call that our furniture was in and ready for delivery. A coincidence or did the fact that we told Andrew that we were going to escalate the matter have anything to do with the furniture finally being ready for delivery.The furniture was delivered this past weekend (June 18, 2022) and we are very satisfied with the quality of construction. What we are not satisfied with is the poor customer service and lack of interest in the customer by Stanleys. Once Stanleys has your order they drop off the grid. We fully understand that supply chain issues so many industries are facing but in transparency, we ordered two other custom pieces of furniture for our living room makeover from two other vendors. Both were ordered after we placed our order with Stanleys and both arrived months before the items purchased at Stanleys did. What is most frustrating and angering is that throughout the entire process of ordering the sofa and armchair and waiting for delivery, Stanleys never once tried to reach out to us to provide us with any type of updates. All of the communication we did have with Stanleys was initiated by us, the customer, based on the fact that Stanleys had basically disappeared into the wind after we placed our order with them. The ultimate frustration is that not once did Stanleys offer an apology for the delays in the manufacture / delivery of our furniture or thank us for being patient. It's as if the process was a purely transactional one for them. Sell the furniture, respond only when the customer asks a question and then deliver the furniture. Nothing more ... nothing less. Our purchase was with Stanleys, not the manufacturer. We had an expectation that Stanleys would be our advocate in navigating the entire process. Instead, they took a seat on the sidelines while our frustration and anger grew. Judging by other reviews we are not alone in these experiences. We make every effort to shop local whenever possible but this experience has left us with a bad taste in our mouths although we are gratified that many other local vendors that we have purchased from understand the value and importance of supporting and keeping their customers engaged from start to finish. DO NOT SHOP HERE EVER. Awful awful awful. The stress this place has brought me is making me physically ill. I downloaded Yelp just to leave a review for this place so hopefully it will spare others. My next step is to call Consumer Affairs, BBB, the local news, and involve a lawyer. I am tired of being treated like an inconvenience, especially from Chris, the rudest, most unprofessional and disrespectful pathetic excuse for a manager I have ever spoken to in my life. I ordered a 4 piece bedroom set on 8/4/22 as I was moving to a new apartment on 9/1/22 and was told late September to mid October 2022 for delivery. I have been sleeping on my mattress on the floor since as I await this apparent non existent delivery. It is December 2022 and no word- you cannot get anyone on the phone for an update and if you do, Chris reminds you how this is essentially YOUR problem and absolutely not can you cancel. I even said, keep my deposit and let me out of this nonsense so I can order elsewhere and stop sleeping on the floor! He doesn't care, he literally hung up the phone on me. I'm sure he has a bed to sleep in at night so why does he care about me? I asked for the floor model and was told by Chris "then I won't have anything to show in the store," to which he claimed he never said when I reminded him of that in a conversation later on. Suspiciously, I received a voicemail from salesman Robert the next day after I asked for the floor model, 9/8/22, saying my bedroom set was in stock and set for delivery mid October. Still not here. Clearly that was a lie even though originally Robert was the nice one. I saved that voicemail and will be contacting a lawyer. Truly have no idea how this place is in business. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE !!! I am so disgusted and upset. I purchased nursery furniture from them that got delivered broken. This is a set that is supposed to be "crib to teen" so furniture that is supposed to last 15+ years is broken on delivery. The crib leg was severely chipped and a dresser with a piece of cracked wood that is 6inches long and about an inch deep. I can literally pull the piece of wood off and have a gaping hole. delivery was informed and I followed up with store manager Chris at the time. Had me send photos of the damage, told me he would make sure it was taken care of when I informed him I wanted new furniture delivered. Whelp a month later and I am still arguing with him. Their attempt of rectifying the issue is to glue & stain the broken pieces. SERIOUSLY this is brand new baby furniture. I thought they stood behind their products, I was mistaken. In addition, I am STILL waiting on a recliner from February. I couldn't even ask for an update today because Chris told me, he couldn't speak to me when I was as upset as I was. Real nice customer service, informing a pregnant woman who is devastated the nursery furniture is damaged that he wouldn't continue the conversation. Save your time and energy, go somewhere else. a day ago NEW The problem with Stanley's is their lack of communication .I will keep it brief otherwise we would be here all day. I was not bothered by my couch being delayed 2 months ( even though I had already waited 6 months ) it's how they do not communicate with you . They can't provide you with information, or if they do the information changes each time, and then make you feel like you're in the wrong for wanting information . The staff such as Rhonda and Rob try and be helpful . Chris, as spoken about in other reviews , is one of the rudest individuals I have ever spoken to in my life. I actually apologized to him for accidentally cutting him off but he could not hear me because he was too busy " man-splaining" to me and telling me how I am not allowed another update on my couch until a certain date and now he is not " explaining his business practices to me." He then proceeded to tell me , the paying customer , that I am in fact being rude . I'm so upset with Stanleys. I am a local business owner as well, and I never like to leave bad reviews, but this one really deserves it. I also should have read these other reviews before choosing stanleys as the place to buy furniture, but I really wanted to support another local business before shopping with a bigger (more reliable) company, like Raymore and Flanningan. I purchased a dining room table set back in february and was told the set would take 6 weeks to deliver. (Sounds like a long time, right?) So I left a $500 deposit and expected the delivery to be sometime in April. Well...April rolled around and we received a call from them saying that it would be delivered in six weeks...so it's been another six weeks already. We called again last week and they said another week. What gives with this company?? Are you really supposed to wait months and months for your furniture? I was going to ask for my deposit back but I saw that in the fine print that if you cancel an order, they take a large percentage which would equal the amount of the deposit in our case. The sales people were a delight. After u put your down payment and they lock you in that's when everything goes downhill. We got things in dribs and drabs over the months. Some delivery people were nice some rude. Our couch however we waited 9 months for. Received in June of 2021 and it's broken 3 times. It's a sectional the metal pice that connects it is broken. A spring was popping out of the back (had that repaired by a very rude repairman) and now it's happening in another spot. Not to mention when it was finally delivered they gave use damaged remotes. I'm very disappointed and wanted to shop local, but this hassle wasn't worth it at all and we are being inconvenienced yet again. Do not buy anything from Stanleys first off it took 10 months to get the couch. In their defense they did say it could take up to 9 months. But the store NEVER called with updates and when we called they usually had no answer. During the 9 months we purchased furniture from raymour and Flanigan, the couch was delivered in 3 days. I also purchased furniture from lazy boy ( they were amazing) delivered the furniture in 6 weeks and they communicated with us constantly. The final straw was Stanleys won't take a credit card for final payment ( I would have paid by debit card but no) so I have to waste my time to go to the bank to get cash or pay with a bank check. No other company I have delt with has done this. They are saying their saving me money by not charging a fee for the credit card. My time is worth a lot more then a lousy 3.5% read more

Called multiple times with no response and when they do answer they blame it on manufacturer saying there's no stock. When called the manufacturer/distributor they state the product is in stock and there are accounting issues on Stanley Furnitures end so they can't ship it to them.. Almost 2 months since piece was delivered incorrect and still nothing. Manager Chris is the most disrespectful salesman ever. IT is now OCTOBER and I just received a call from CHRIS the store manager that the delivery will hopefully be In DECEMBER or early JANUARY! Furniture is good, saleswoman was very nice. However, they lie through their teeth. We bought the furniture protection plan and at the time had 3 cats. We asked if the plan covered scratches from a cat, and the lady emphatically replied "yes, of course! Everything is covered!". Well, guess what, it's not. Yea, we should not have relied on her word, or the word of the fellow she asked to verify that statement (a manager of some sort). So we bought the furniture, and one cat got to one spot. We then contacted Stanley's, and they said we had to have the original receipt or they wouldn't honor the claim. Really? They don't keep receipts for the furniture they sell? But, we had ours. Then we spent days trying to get a hold of someone at the protection plan company to make a claim. Then we had to wait weeks for a reply. Then we had to wait another month and a half for a "technician" to come inspect the coach. Then nothing, crickets. So 2-3 months later, I finally get around to calling to see what's up. 10 minutes on hold, then come to find out the claim was denied because the damage was due to scratches, not covered. I asked why no one contacted us, and was told someone tried. Really? One lame story after another. So if you like the furniture, and don't mind spending a bit of money, go ahead and buy something. But, do not believe one word that comes out of any Stanely's employee's mouth, get it in writing. read more

We went in March to replace a couch that we had bought at Stanley's years ago and loved so much we knew we would find what we wanted. We did. Then covid happened and even though it took a few weeks longer. They delivered the couch and love seat. It was exactly what we wanted and it has a sleeper bed that has been used many times in the month that we have it. So easy to use and its comfortable. I agree with the other posters. My salesperson was nothing but nice and respectful however Chris is rude, disrespectful and condescending. I ordered 3 tables, a cocktail table and 2 end tables and cannot get a straight answer when they will be in. I was told they are on backorder yet I see other vendors have them in stock and when I told Chris this, he has an answer for everything as to why, as if he knows how everyone runs their business. I then called the manufacturer who advised they are not on back order, they are in stock so it is clear, I am being given the run around. If a mistake was made and they weren't ordered that be honest and tell someone. I have never been treated like this from any salesperson in my life. Thanksgiving time rolls around and I call.... takes a few days for a call back from someone other than Andrew saying he will reach out to the company, but they take a week to respond?! what? ok.... A week later we are called back by another guy there telling us they are not ready yet, Probably will be the first or second shipment of December. Not happy about this but we wait... I call again in December just before Christmas and speak to Rhonda. I explained the whole thing to her, she has the nerve to tell me Andrew would never say 4 months. So I am a liar? I am about ready to cancel/ dispute the down payment on my card and go else where, mind you I ordered two chairs and an ottomon from BJ's and I believe from Canada also and received them in two weeks!and they are beautiful and less than half the price Andrew quoted us for similar chairs in the store. Rhonda tells me I cant cancel I signed a receipt/ contract and they could handle this legally. LOL ok... I'm not worried about that Rhonda, my receipt says delivery : ASAP in Andrew's writing. What about 6 months is ASAP? The last call we got was first week of January from a man ( not sure of name, he called my husband) who was very rude and argumentative saying maybe our order will be end of January. he also didn't like my husband questioning him about the whole thing.. he asked him are you a furniture salesman.. what do you do? you have no idea how it works.. well apparently neither do you buddy! How do you not have communication with a vendor whom your business relies on? How do you have NO answers and get downright nasty with your customers that are upset that you cannot fulfill their orders? After reading all these reviews ( I'm sorry I didn't read them first) I think its times to dispute the down payment and shop elsewhere. We tried to shop local from a store who's been in town for many years... but they clearly do not care about customer satisfaction!! i would have given 0 stars if that was an option! read more

We bought a house full of furniture from here for our vacation home in Pennsylvania and couldn't be happier. Chris was our salesman he was very informative and on top of things. They had our beds delivered first then the rest of the furniture came via a private delivery service who was also very professional, on time and left our house spotless. We had custom couches and chairs made for the living room which are beautiful and they even matched the price for our dining room set we saw in another store. Their prices were reasonable and also less then Jennifer Furniture. It was so nice to design our living room which is one of a kind. I would highly recommend Stanleys's. Ask for Chris you won't be disappointed! read more

BUYER BEWARE. NOT THE STANLEYS YOUR PARENTS USED. I used Stanley's for my dining room furniture purchase as it's a local store that my family has been using for generations. Well their customer service has gone to garbage. I ordered my dining set last November. I called to see when it was coming in multiple times. Never received a call back. Was lied to by Rhonda stating someone wrote in the book they called me back July 22. I check my voicemails from that day and there was not one message. My dining room set comes in with a huge crack to the base. I was told they were going to replace my base. I asked for a replacement chair as that also had a nickel size chip of wood missing out of it. Again no one gets back to me. I had called them about 4-5 times because I was also supposed to get a credit for using one of their interior designers. No one has called me back in regards to this and my furniture was paid in full. So yesterday I get a call from Stanley's. First time since I ordered the set to inform me they accidentally gave my replacement base to someone else and they want to send a repairman out to fix mine. This is absolutely unacceptable. I would go elsewhere maybe where someone, anyone has the decency to return your phone calls and actual gives a hoot about customer service because this place clearly only cares about the cash in their hand. read more
