With the quality, selection, and superb service they offer, I may just make the trip here more often than I thought. My local hardware store really put me in a bind a couple of weekends ago. I had reserved a core aerator the night before for a 4 hour time frame. When I got to the store, they told me that all of the rentals were out and they didn't have me on the list. Frustrated, I called everyone around and Locust Ace Hardware was the only place that had one. I talked to Zack over the phone and to my delight, Ace was $10 cheaper than any store near Charlotte. This made it (almost) worth the drive! Arrived early Saturday morning and not only was my unit ready, they had it sitting out front ready to load, which Zach and another employee did for me. The aerator was in great shape, clean, full of gas, and ready to go. When I got back they helped me get it back out of my van without question. Service-wise, these guys are above and beyond what I'm used to at a hardware store and honestly I wish they would set up shop near the University area! I needed a dozen of bags of compost on my second trip and Zack ran to the task of loading it for me. My one last item on my list, a 3" PVC sewer clean-cut cap, and Zack knew exactly what I was talking about, ran inside to grab it, and met me at the register. The store itself is well laid out with an extensive selection of all your springtime essentials. Their display of Stihl power tools and attachments was impressive and the Big Green Egg area was also more of a showcase than you would expect in your average hardware store. Fittingly, there is also a gun/knife shop in the back of the store. They have everything from your big brand pistols and rifles, to spare magazines, cleaning kits, ammo, and hard to find replacement parts. Almost worth the trip? No, definitely worth the trip! I can't believe I'm saying it but Ace Hardware Locust has won my business hands down. While I'll probably get my staple hardware needs from Lowes, it looks like I've found my home for big/special hardware purchases and equipment rentals.

The first time I went to the garden center we had not moved to town yet, we just wanted to see how different the garden was from our home state of AZ. I met Patti that very first time, she was so helpful and friendly that months later after finally buying our property and moving across the country I still remembered her. I've gone back a couple of times now and each time I have interacted with her she is helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. She helped us pick out nine trees for the new spot. All I can say is Patti is awesome, she works hard for her money and she deserves to be recognized. She makes me want to shop there.

I do not recommend this lowes for installing a fence. We have already paid, Delivery for materials…read morewas suppose to be the 14th of April. They didn't show up. We called Sunday and they said that they would deliver materials today the 17th between 1-5 and it's 530 and they still haven't showed up. Our fence is suppose to be installed tomorrow the 18th. This is NOT okay. They haven't not communicated with us about running behind or even apologizing for not showing up last week. My husband is taking time off of work tomorrow for delivery, the city of Oakboro is suppose to come out tomorrow as well and we've had things planned from the beginning, but your employees or whomever is running things isn't doing their job. This is unacceptable. We will be contacting corporate about this matter.
