I waited over a month after our pool completion to write my reviews because I wanted to make sure I…read morecovered everything. Building a pool is stressful and a HUGE decision. I hope our review helps others and helps True North become better. So here was our experience with True North..... Overall, we are happy with our decision to go with True North and they did a great job building our pool. It is beautiful and was complete in under 4 months from dig date! BUT the process was not without hiccups and it was A LOT to take on. The biggest issue we had was communication and the "orientation" to our pool. If I could do it over again I would say research, research, research! I wish we would have known more about the equipment, process, and how it all works when it is done. We chose a salt water custom free form pool with a spa attached. There was a lot we did not know before making that decision and it was not presented in the sales meeting. Like, we did not realize the pros and cons of having a spa attached, or realize that you have to maintain the pool all winter in order to use the spa, and that the salt system doesn't make chlorine in under 60 degrees. We also didn't know that you have to use Chlorine for the first 30 days, no heat in the spa for 30 days, and no robot vacuum for 30 days due to the pebble setting. Those are the little things that, had we known, we would have been more prepared or made different decisions. Jim and Tami were amazing and any time that we had an issue, they were there. Jim came out and resolved all of our problems and literally has been on call 24 hours for us. Even now, we are able to call him anytime. Scott (our sales guy) and Mike (company manager) are there at the start and with the selling of the pool but then quickly disappeared. Their selling point was that we are hands on and will be here throughout the process. To date, neither of them have actually seen the final product. Great guys but definitely not the go to people to get stuff done or help the process along. Scott is there to sell, Mike is there to manage, Tami is there to schedule (she's amazing at it) and Jim is there to actually get stuff done! During the process, the crews that were on site were respectful and worked hard. There are several different crews they work with and NONE of them warn you before showing up. Some mornings people were out there at 7am and needed us to move cars but we had no idea they were coming. Our yard was a disaster for the four months that it was under construction. Lots of mud everywhere, dirty driveway, trash in piles, and materials everywhere. The process moves quickly in the beginning and then stalls out for a while. Near the end we had to push to get it complete before the end of summer. Jim was a huge advocate for us. We were quoted a 8-10 week completion from dig date and it took about 12 weeks to complete. I will say that was much quicker than any of our neighbors. The materials and stone caused delays and issues but in the end it all came together nicely. Highly recommend going to the actual stone yard and picking your pallets of stone in person. We were not thrilled with the electrician and had issues there. We ended up having our own come out just to make sure we were doing the right thing in hooking up the equipment. They changed paths after our guy came out. Our largest construction issue came in with the pebble installation. To this day the pebble is VERY spotty and we do not feel it was mixed properly. It really was a rushed job and we had to have them come back out just to clean it off stuff (we had a blue waterfall) and to even it out on the tile line. They were frustrated to come back out to just clean it up but really we should have drained the pool to have it redone. Lastly, our final pain point came with the pool company that does the orientation after the pool is complete. We really did not get an "orientation" on how to use the equipment or deal with the pool chemistry. We knew nothing about keeping the chlorine balanced in the beginning or even how to hook up the vacuum properly. Someone just came out and threw in some chemicals and was like we will be back in a couple weeks. Oh and here is how your turn on your cool LED lights..... Then when it came time to switch over to salt, I had to contact them and someone just came out and threw six bags of salt in and left. After a week of rain and a smelly pool, we finally called Jim and said hey what do we do when the pool is going to overflow. We quickly realized the pool company never installed our back wash hose. It actually still needs to be done to this day. In general, we have had to do a lot of research on how to use things, how to keep the water balanced, and how to maintain stuff. But I guess that is a part of pool ownership. In the end, thank you for building our pool and if we could do it again, we would still choose True North. We would just research a whole lot more beforehand.

We had several companies come out to provide bids for our pool project this summer and couldn't be…read morehappier to have chosen True North! It was a massive undertaking but Jim Mike and the team were great. The workmanship was terrific and they were responsive to our requests with changes along the way. In the end we finished with a pool and outdoor living area that was even better than we had imagined! I can feel comfortable recommending True North to my friends and family.

A complete lack of respect and accountability takes every good thing about this company and this is all I will remember. The communication was spotty from the start, but Clay assured me we would get on a schedule and everything would be fine. Fast forward a month, multiple missed appointments, no returned phone calls, and a pool that is now green and has algae growing on it, and Clay is telling me to "find another company because he is not the one for the job." Mind you this is after another company has quoted me $3,000 to repair this pool that was perfectly flowing at the time I handed it over to him. Clay has now stopped responding to text messages, claims emails were sent that I never received, and refuses to stand by the work that they promised. Absolutely do not hire this company under any circumstances. They lack ethics, morals, proper communication, accountability, and professionalism.

So this review is long overdue, but better late than never. We purchased a hot tub from FOL and…read morewere extremely pleased with the sales and installation process. In talking with Andrey during the installation, we learned FOL also does landscaping, outdoor patio and kitchens etc. We contracted with FOL to have 12 trees (a combination of thujas and arborvitae), azaleas and purple fountain grass. We also had them extend the sprinkler system into the back yard. Couldn't be more pleased with all of the work the team did. Again, great sales and service and follow up when we had questions. Highly recommend you reach out to Andrey for your needs.

Example bought outdoor refrigerator price was above online price but they install it and haul the old one away. Problem refrigerator was not leveled. I watched the install it looked good. When checking it later it did rock. I signed off on the job so that is my fault but after having multiple surgery's it's hard to throughly examine and test everything. I asked if some someone could drop by and level up the legs, no hurry just when they are in the neighborhood. I was told that will be $179 to stop at your house. That seems to be unreasonable to me. In the future i will buy online and hire a contractor to install.

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

Very nice IKEA. Super clean but organized like a standard IKEA. Two floors with very large…read moreelevators and an escalator in the front lobby. Like always, as soon as we get there we head to the restaurant. I always get the same thing, Swedish Meatballs. Can't beat how good they are. My grandkids love them too. My son had a Caesar salad which he said was very good and fresh, and my husband had a chicken thigh with black beans and rice and fried plantains. (We were very surprised to see a meal that you would normally see in a Florida IKEA up here in Charlotte North Carolina. I have to admit it tasted very good.) We hit the bathrooms afterwards, spotlessly clean considering how busy it was, and then we went shopping. I will say that there was quite a few open and empty spaces on the second floor in the furniture department. I'm not sure if they were re-organizing or had literally sold out after the holidays. Good thing though, we found what we were looking for things to the help of workers who know the place better than we do and advised us which shortcuts to use. All the workers we spoke to were super friendly and helpful. The value was good as always, IKEA might be slightly higher priced than other places but I have a few pieces in my house that are almost 30 years old and still in excellent condition. It was easier to get here than we thought and we really enjoyed our day here. We can't wait to go back.
