This company has no compassion and no heart. My truck was stolen and they happened to be the tow yard that it ended up in. Thr truck belonged to my father who just passed away in Feb and it's all that I have left of him plus it is my home because I am homeless. They would do nothing to help me. No payment plans no dismissal of charges because I'm also disabled and low income. She wouldnt do anything except tell me she wanted $410 and $75 a day for it being there. Outrageous and unbelievable that this company has no compassion. Shame on all of you read more

Unfortunately I have had to have vehicles towed by these guys three times in under six months. I cannot tell you how great they are. Ryan towed my Ford to Tom's Automotive (I also highly recommend) without me having to go with him, he just left the bill with Tom's so I just paid it all at once. Ryan also towed my motorcycle. Very rude people. I can imagine most of their visitors are not friendly and I can understand that frustration but was shocked to be treated so poorly. Having your car towed unexpectedly (for the first time) is stressful enough. Making it a painful experience to get it back is just too much. I was very concerned about damages to my vehicle and the only thing they offered to put my mind at ease was a very matter of fact "that's impossible" let me just say, it's very much possible. Scuffs and scratches on my leased vehicle. Very disheartening. That will certainly be an expense out of my pocket. And to be honest, I'd pay more to never interact with this company again. Fortunately, I have never had to call a tow truck.. until last month. One minute the car is fine, the next we're practically in the middle of an intersection unable to steer. Lucky for us we broke down in front of a fire station. The super helpful firemen referred us to Stan's for a tow. We called and the truck showed up in about 10-15 minutes. I cannot stress enough how awesome the tow truck driver was. When he arrived his first concern was for our safety. He told us to wait for him across the street while he got the car hooked up. On the way to the car shop, he sympathized with us about how much it sucks when your car breaks down. He was extremely friendly and chatted with us the entire way. Once we got to the shop, he communicated with the mechanics about where our car should be dropped off and was done in less than 10 minutes. The total for the tow was $75, which I'm told isn't that bad. I really wish I could remember the driver's name, but he told us he was the shortest driver they had, if you ever get him you will be glad you did. If I should ever need a tow again (and I really hope I don't) I wouldn't hesitate to call Stan's. read more

I have a brand new electric vehicle that died suddenly, 1/2 mile from my house. After a day in the sunshine (without sunscreen), 8 hours without food, and the huge worry that I'd just put myself into years of debt for a lemon, I was NOT a pleasant person when I called Stan's Mt View Towing. I actually called them after AAA, and another West Seattle tow company- both of which told me it'd be a 3 hour wait for a tow. Regardless of my frustrated attitude, Stan's Mt View Towing was polite and upbeat, and sent the driver out within 10 minutes. He was personable, kind, understanding, and very sweet- we first tried towing it home, but my driveway is too wedged and steep for that. So then we tried towing it to a charging station, which wasn't working. Eventually, we ended up towing it to the dealership. I was nearing panic about being stuck in Burien, but our tow truck driver offered to drive us home if need be (this was around 6:30pm, so I'm pretty sure he should've been off the clock, at home, relaxing by then). Thankfully, we didn't need the lift in the end, but he stayed around until we were sure we'd be okay. He went above and beyond, and it really helped me to calm down and handle the situation with more grace. Also, considering the 3 hour debacle it ended up being, the rates were very reasonable! My car was unscathed by the journey, and if I ever have to get a tow again, it'll be through this company. read more

They were kind, respectful and courteous while helping me. They refused to leave on the road waiting for my rental to arrive because it was cold, and took me to their office were I was offered coffee and welcomed. I came back later to take some stuff out my car, and they walked me to it, help me to download and upload stuff to my rental. Highly recommend them. read more

We picked up our car and it was completely damaged. The car was completely fine before it was towed there. They didn't have the key to open the door to retrieve the vin because it was blocked with a piece of paper so it looks like they tried to rip the rubber around the windshield and busted the left side of the bumper along with annihilating the tire and destroying the wheel. We brought it up to someone that was helping us and he just shrugged his shoulders. This is what people do to make money nowadays... very sad and in disbelief. read more

I just got pulled out of a ditch off the main street in my neighborhood. it had snowed and the street was frozen ice. this street is always frozen ice whenever it snows. been living here for 32 yrs. and have had Stans Mt View Towing pull me out several times. they have always been exactly what i needed. the street will always be a problem due to its lack of sun exposure and if i have to wait a few hours or to the next day , they will tell me honestly. I've seen other towing companies try to pull cars from the ditches before and fail miserably. the street is steep and ice is ice. prompt good service at a reasonable price is a rare commodity these days. tell your friends this outfit does good work. read more

With all this bad press about tow companies floating around I felt like I had to tell people about this place as they're not all bad! I needed a jump start today and after calling another well rated place that told me they didn't have any trucks available (huh?!?) I tried Stan's next and talked to a gal on the phone that was able to quote me a reasonable price over the phone and said they'd call me back in a few minutes to let me know when a driver was on the way. Not 2 minutes later I get a call from a guy that said he was about 10 minutes out and would be there as soon as he could. True to his time he came and got me all set up, told me I didn't have to worry about anything and could stay in my car and he'd take care of the rest. Once my car started back up he let me know the cost (exactly the same as the previous girl quoted) and after I mentioned I needed a receipt for reimbursement he asked who I was going through. Since it was State Farm he mentioned that they can typically bill them directly and he offered to have the office take care of it and if there was any trouble they'd just call and let me know and mail me a receipt instead. Couldn't have been easier and he couldn't have been nicer. He also let me know that beyond towing and jumps, they can help if you're out of gas or any other roadside issues. Hopefully I won't be a frequent customer but if I ever need car assistance again, these guys are on the top of my list! read more

I am so impressed with this company. As is almost always the case, the need for a tow truck always comes at the most inopportune time. Our case was just that...we broke down in downtown Seattle on the way to the hospital to be there for a grandson's arrival into the world. We parked the car as best we could and walked/ran the rest of the way to the hospital. We called Stan's and set up a time for the pickup and they said they could be there in less than 30 minutes...I walked to the car and they were there waiting for me! Let me start off by saying I have never had the need to write a review before. In all of my experiences with a variety of different businesses, whether good or bad, I have never felt a need to share my opinion. I wish that had been the case with this company, but tonight I opened up a yelp account specifically so I could share my horrific and traumatic experience with other unsuspecting customers. If it were possible to rate this towing company negative starts, I would. We were involved in a terrible car accident just moments before this towing company was called by the police to tow away our car back to our house, which was literally 5-6 minutes away. The victims of the car accident was my mother, and a three year old child. They were lucky to still be alive and breathing after the crash, which left the car completely crushed. My mother was driving when she was hit by a driver making an illegal turn. She was shaken up and sent into shock. I rushed over to the scene of the accident to help her. After the police report, the towing company was called. They sent a driver named "bruce" to tow our car back to our home. Right off the bat he was very aggressive and rude. We tried our best to ignore his attitude, especially after the agonizing accident we had to endure minutes prior to him arriving on the scene. We gave him the address of our home which was less than a mile away. Once he got to the property he immediately started harassing my mother for the payment, before he even unloaded the the car into our drive way. We hadn't even had a chance to speak to him at all. We preceded to go into the house to retrieve the 198 dollars that he demanded for a 5 minute tow. My mother asked him why the price was so high, and he immediately snapped at her. It was a simple question, and we have the right to ask why we were being charged a certain rate or price. Mind you, we didn't mind the price and we were going to pay it regardless we just wanted an explanation of the rates. After that he started to raise his voice again and get smart with us for asking a simple question, we just handed him the money immediately to avoid any further aggression from him, and we then asked for a receipt. He said, "oh now you want a receipt too?" He could't be bothered to even give us a receipt. He said he wanted my mothers drivers license, she asked him why he needed the drivers license since he already had our information and thats when things started to get even worse. He started waving his arms around and getting angrier and angrier by the second. He started laughing loudly with a scary look on his face and said, "why? why?! Why is there so many questions? Why do you have a question for everything". Keep in mind that he had not explained at that point that he he supposedly needed the license in order to write a receipt. We were already alarmed by his behavior and we didn't want him to take down any more of our personal information. He then said why do you have so many d*** questions, just give me the f****** drivers license or your not getting anything. I said whats the problem with my mother asking a question, he said she's the f****** problem. He then started cursing and being very aggressive. When I told him his behavior was unacceptable and that he was being very rude he told me to "shut my mouth, or he would do it for me" and he proceeded to walk towards me in a menacing fashion. I told him not to threaten me, to give us the receipt and to get off our property. He then preceded to yell out racist and prejudice hate speech. He said "go back to your country, we don't need people like you here", "you muslim rag head", " you don't belong here", "go back where you came from" "f*** you people". He kept yelling and screaming the entire time he was writing the receipt. We told him that if he did not stop screaming and threatening us we would have to call the police, he then stormed off and said that he would be impounding our car. I told him that he couldn't do that, he had already taken our money, had not given us a receipt, threatened us, and now he wanted to take our car too? After some more hate slurs and profanity, he then threw the receipt at us, but never gave us back our change. We were honestly so frightened and fearful of him at that point that we didn't even bother to ask him for anything. He stormed off after throwing the receipt at us and drove away. I was lost for words that someone who had been called by the police to tow our car after a distressing and painful car accident, where we were lucky to be alive, could not only threaten us, but also advance towards us and scream out hateful and derogatory comments. My family and I have never had to endure such an awful and devestating event. Even more traumatizing than a life endangering car accident was this experience, we are now fearful of this hateful man. We hope action will be taken against him by the company. Otherwise they are no better than he is! Please be aware! read more

The guy didn't even look and everything in my car (including my two dogs) went flying on to the floor (I had the green light, but that didn't matter apparently).
