Just another day driving home from work on the freeway when suddenly the check engine light turns on. Nothing good comes from this event, I'm thinking, " okay I guess it's time to call a mechanic." But not even a minute later, the the engine dies and I slowly merge over. I just moved up here a few months ago so I call the closet towing company nearby, Tukwila Towing to hook up and drive me 20 miles to my home. As im waiting I decided to check yelp to see some reviews on the company and maybe compare prices. their was none, okay well not a problem. already know I need to work more overtime to cover these new auto costs. I talk to Al, courteous and friendly he informs me it'll be a 25min time frame, he gets there in a half hour. He gave me a quick explanation to my problem (timing belt issue). He hooks the car up and we go. We get to my apartment and it's no picnic backing into the small drive way but he does so with ease. He also pushed the car into my garage. This was the worst towing company I've ever had the displeasure to use. The driver that was contracted to tow my car to a storage unit was extremely rude. But, that wasn't the worst. We agreed on the price but when he brought it to the location all of a sudden it was $300 more! He refused to drop my car unless I paid his "new" price. When we called the company we were told that the drivers can charge anything they want to, He finally dropped the car after threatening to take it to impound. The $360 tow became $835.00 charge on my credit card!!! Since I hired them from out of state, they took advantage of me. I would advise anyone to steer clear from these guys. My check engine light was blinking on my Jeep 2004, which is never good. Called Al in a panic. Al told me he was backed up 3 hours but asked me what I was experiencing. I walked him through what my car was doing and he ran me through multiple tests to troubleshoot my car. Long of the short, I was able to get my car to a shop without a tow because of a 30 minute phone conversation with Al. Didn't even conduct business with him and he absolutely made my day. I was impress with Big Al. Of course the unfortunately happen, an accident occured and I needed to be towed. I was near Tukwila but needed to go to West Seattle. Hero! Highly recommend. My car broke down in Kent on a Saturday afternoon and I needed to tow my car home to Northgate area. I called a few places, Tukwila Towing had the best rate. The tow truck driver was there in less than 30 minutes. I had 3 children with me and had to wait for my Mom to come pick them up. She got stuck in traffic and the driver had to wait for over an hour before she showed up! I'm sorry I did not catch the drivers name, he deserves high praise. Drivers are totally unprofessional. When asked why he was blocking a private road to tow a delivery vehicle that had gotten stuck in the drive way, he said that "he didn't give a da**" and would take 20 extra minutes because I asked and that I'd have to call the police to get him to move. I used Tukwila Towing and Al was on time and delivered as promised. I was impressed and would use TT again.

Tukwila Towing ripped us off. Our car broke down on the way home from work in rush hour traffic and we were desperate to get home. We called Tukwila Towing because they were the closest and had some good reviews. The driver said he would be there in 20 minutes to half an hour. 25 minutes later he called and said he would "be there soon". All in all we waited over an hour for his arrival. This I can forgive, as traffic is traffic. What I cannot forgive is the fact that we were charged $175 dollars to be towed less than 3 miles. Never in my life would I have imagined being gouged so badly. We also had to sign a release from damages to the car, which is standard, but then the driver-without discussion or permission-decided to force the car into reverse so the keys could be released from the ignition (a safety feature). We did not need the keys as the clutch was out and the car was unable to be driven and therefore unable to be stolen. We are waiting to hear from the mechanic as to whether there was any further damage to the clutch. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company to anyone. Again,$175 for a three mile tow. What a terrible thing to do to people in crisis. read more

Worst possible place to break down???? 6th and Pike in front of Game Works 5 min load and unload zone at approximately 12:00 PM on a hot August Monday . Traffic was BAD BAD BAD. Not to mention it must be some sort of Pokemon hot spot so the foot traffic was triple. I had just gotten back from a camping trip when I get the call.... Mom I broke down HELP!!! I hustled my way through downtown traffic all the gear still in my SUV to save my son. On my way down I found the number for Tukwila Towing. I called and spoke with Al. Right away I was impressed. I explained the situation and how I needed to get the car out of there ASAP as I did not want it impounded (remember it is in a 5 min load and unload only). He said he could be there in 1/2 hour and quotes 150.00 dollars. Now I have dealt with several tow companies in my life and 1/2 hour can mean anywhere between 1/2 hour and whenever....kind of like the cable companies. Well not Al, he was there in 30 minutes despite traffic. The car was in a difficult busy busy location on Pike but he swooped right in and got the car out before we got ticketed. My hero!!!! Oh and even though I was in a bad situation and could have totally been taken advantage of regarding cost he charged me a very reasonable fee.
