Do not recommend using this company. Had used them in past with success but can no longer say that. They were unable to fix an issue with our flickering lights and in process of working in our outlets, fried our wifi router. Spectrum confirmed this. The owner was so incredibly rude and had no interest in working with us to fix issue. Have never encountered such unprofessionalism and unwillingness to find a solution. read more

Today I spoke with Bruce (the owner of Stansbury Electric) who gave me some advice that totally precluded his need to come out and make repairs--obviously saving us some money and even an inconvenience. I was having trouble with a breaker in my fuse box so, after a Google search, I called and spoke with Bruce, who I've never met before. He said that before I incur the expense of a home visit and repairs, I should try a few things. He walked me through the process and sure enough it worked. My breaker was fine; it was a power strip that had gone bad, so the breaker, Bruce explained, was doing its job of keeping our house safe. That kind of upfront honesty and integrity can be rare. I didn't actually need Stansbury to come to my house today, but I will certainly be calling Bruce in the future if needed. read more

Stansbury was once a very decent company. What I mean by that, they came and fixed things with an estimate before hand. And we had them often here, and also to their advantage as we recommended their services. Now they came upon telling their company about the small jobs to be done (1) changing a light switch, 2) trying to unscrew a light dome 3) Changing the bulbs in heavenly high candelabras, 4) checking on an outlet on our back porch and 5) checking some outside outlets (they were ok) as well as 6) installing a garden night light in front of the house. That was a job from about 10 am to 1 pm. Given the paucity of activities, you would have expected that two people could have accomplished 2). We were charged 750 $, yes seven hundred fifty dollars. If you calculate the hourly rate of a normal electrician as say a generous 80 $ including the fringe benefits, you would have expected a charge of maximally and not exceeding 480 USD for two guys. But to charge us $ 750 , was shear robbery. Obviously we will not involve those folks anymore, and counsel anyone interested to hire them to get the written quote in advance. read more

I asked for a quote from Stansbury. The person giving the quote did NOT wear a mask in my home during this Covid pandemic. No consideration that he might be coming in a home with a person who has asthma - not a good Covid companion. Also, after inspecting the area, the person did not come speak to me, the homeowner potentially paying for the service, rather he spoke to my male partner. I had even told him that I was the homeowner, but due to recent surgery, my boyfriend would show him around. I ended up using John Waters, who was always respectful of me, a woman, being the decision maker. They also wore masks BEFORE coming to my door AND booties on their feet. The Stansbury representative did not respect me as a woman nor did he show me kindness by protecting me in my home by covering his mouth with a mask. John Waters, who cost less money as a bonus, listened and responded to a woman and protected me from covid. read more

Half our power went on Friday. Called them Friday night, Bruce diagnosed it over the phone and his crew came out the next morning. They were very professional, honest and punctual. Bruce said 11-11:30 aam and by 11:15am they arrived. We ended up needed more work than originally planned and Bruce took care of us. I called for a appointment to have a security light installed at my home.The quoted price was $140.00. The tech came out to install the security light and decided additional work needed to be completed beforehand. At no time was the additional work/increased cost discussed with me prior to completing the light installation. The tech couldn't figure out how to operate the dusk to dawn option. He even had me look at the instructions. This additional time was also billed to me. The light is not positioned correctly and is not set to a dusk to dawn setting. After completing unauthorized additional work the tech presented me my bill. The total was $410.00! I'm thankful he didn't think the garage needed to be rewired prior to installing the light. I spoke with the techs father, the owner, and after a lengthy discussion he begrudgingly refunded me $100.00. He justified his sons' actions citing safety. I think it was unethical to perform unauthorized work without discussing it with me beforehand. The owner stated, "my son does that sometimes" regarding the unauthorized work. Think twice before hiring this company. read more
