I had been to Staton Optical in March of 2024 with my mother. At that time we were both helped by Cynthia, who was very helpful, and informative on different ways to pay and lowest prices. We returned this May, and I got an eye exam that was quite thorough. I was satisfied with both the doctor and her polite assistant. The staff that day was great. Anthony was the gentleman that helped me with my eyeglasses, and purchase. He was professional and helpful. Two weeks later I went to pick up my glasses. They had one ready. They told me the other pair would be ready later. My prescription is a high one. My mother and I came back the following week for my glasses. I loved them. I mentioned that the previous pair was too light. I have to have darker lenses, because my eyes are sensitive to the light. Diana said no problem. I'll have them for you later today. No charge. Wow! That's great I said. At the same time my mother had selected 3 frames. One was for distance, one for reading, and one for sunglasses. Beautiful frames. Frida, who helped my mother gave her a great deal. She worked with her to see what her best options would be. Well, my mother had been told by another place, won't disclose where, that 2 pairs of glasses would be $1000. My mother got 4 for $432 Stanton Optical. She was ecstatic! Thank you Frida. I went back the next day to pick up my darker glasses. They were exactly what I wanted. Frida then said, I believe we have your mother's. I was shocked. They had all 4 pairs ready in one day! Went to get contacts. My prescription was not the right one. Went for another eye exam, still couldn't get the right contacts. So here I go for a third, felt right, finally! I had payed over $100 out of pocket initially and the contacts were supposed to be ordered. Never received a call back. Went to the store a handful of times to get the run around and promises that the manager would contact me. Nothing. Called corporate and got the same promise. Never received contacts I paid for nor did I get a refund. Note to Stanton optics response team, please don't apologize about my experience and to call whatever number you post because nothing is ever going to get fixed. read more

I've used them for eye exams and glasses several times, but this most frequent time was the most frustrating . This review is assuming that I actually do get my glasses eventually if they ever arrive at the store. Every time I've ordered, the glasses never come in on time and there's always an excuse. This time it was that UPS apparently can't deliver packages correctly and the employee I spoke to didn't understand why UPS is being so inconsistent right now. Part of running a business is taking ownership for the things that you don't do correctly and owning up to the mistakes that you or your employees make. I can't say that I'm surprised to see the low rating on Stanton Optical after the experiences I've had and I'm sorry that I didn't actually post a review before this time. Gentleman did not look happy to be there. Exam was at 930 didn't get out till almost 1130. I just wanted exam but had to wait till someone was available. From from purchasing glasses when all i had to pay for was prescription. Also young man said no one does progressives same day. That's not true eyemart does. Plus the cost went up a lot. I had a bad experience in the past, and decided to give them another chance. But had a worst experience. Wrong prescription on hardcopy, and glasses weren't made correctly. They forgot to order my contacts. The Assistance manager lied to me not once but twice about the order. When I went back to picked up my glasses the 2nd time the glasses were done wrong again but I told that it was fine. Nevertheless my trial contacts were wrong due to the prescription being not complete on hardcopy. Stanton Optical at Fountain wasted my time and money.. The employees are polite when they are not on their phones or walking around with their ear pods. If I could give them 0 stars, I would! Even with an appointment, they took a very long time to see my daughter, and that's the person ahead of her left, because of the long wait! Furthermore, we still had to wait even longer to be seen by an attendant to get the prescription and pay! Terrible service and terrible wait times! Anywhere else is better than this place.... I felt like I had just walked into an oddity store. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. Wasn't sure what I was going to run into. As I was checking in, I read 1 star review after another. I'd hate to leave a horrible review id give it zero if I could. 1) Don't trust advertisement. (Read the fine print. ) yeah i expected it to be around 200 at least. NOT 600. 2) They have controlled optical exams. The one where the doc looks at you. I kept telling the person on screen, "no I can't see it it's a blur" she kept saying "oh it's okay try to read it" And I'd repeat "I can't read its blurred." she went on "relax your eyes and try not to squint." and one time she said Can you read top or bottom?" I said "there is only one line no top or bottom. and again no" Tele--- crazy. you need to stop using technology. 3) Prices on glasses aren't shown and are color coded. I made an appointment for an eye exam, waited several hours as many others had an appointment at the same time as mine. i picked out two sets of frames and paid with my debit card, which went through immediatel. I was told they would text me when my glasses were ready, which would be in 3-4 days. I called a week later and was told they had no record of me ever getting an exam, nor ordering anything. I told them the charge had gone through my bank and was on my way to show proof. upon my arrival, I was told my card had been declined, so they didn't process my order. I showed them the charge from my bank and they merely said I had to contest the charge with my bank. Thank goodness my bank reimbursed me. Truly bad business on behalf of Stanton Optical. I ordered my glasses on Sept 30. I got them Nov 15. Every time I checked on progress they politely told me they were running late. I don't know if it was because mine were a warranty case or they're just slow, but this is just unacceptable for a business that advertises same day service. I would have been ok with 10 or 15 days. I went in two months ago and got an eye exam done, they told me it would take two weeks to get my glasses back. Glasses came back with the wrong prescription. I went in to tell them that and they said I "had to get adjusted" and to come back in 2 weeks if the problem persisted. I came back and they said the earliest they could re-do my eye exam was almost three weeks later. They scheduled me and I just got a call TODAY, on the day of my appointment that they were cancelling because the doctor is not ready to come back to work according to her doctor. Awful is an understatement. I truly don't understand why it takes so long to receive glasses. I randomly got a text that my order was ready 2 days after I received my eye exam, however when I arrived in store (almost a 30 minute drive), there was nothing ready and I was told the text had been sent in accident. Since then I had been waiting for over 2 weeks without update. No one to answer the calls within the store so I keep getting routed to the customer service line who only tells me they have no idea why it's taking forever and that only the store can provide that information. As of now my order is in delayed status nearing almost a month since my exam (which is still not in person with doctor btw, some ridiculous telehealth situation). I would've gone elsewhere if I knew it would take an eternity and a half to receive my glasses. read more

I was really out of options for getting a new pair of glasses, and had I read the reviews I'd have happily stayed blind than come here. First, there isn't an actual eye doctor in house, it's a teleconference. Very impersonal. I'm used to going places where I can freely ask questions, maybe joke around with the doctor, not simply be a number in line for the doctor to knock out back to back with other people. I'd have better experiences with the crappiest McDonalds in the crappiest town. The assistant to the "doctor" was alright but unable to answer any of my questions. The doctor did not answer any of my questions and probably didn't even review the information sent from the assistant in house. I can guess this because I have severe bruising of the left retina, which most doctors ask me about or tell me I need to have it checked by a specialist, and this "doctor" didn't even mention it in his report/notes. Anyway, the eyeglass area attendant lady was very nice and helpful, their glasses selection is ok, but come to find out cheaply made and cheap materials. I got my glasses two weeks ago, haven't dropped them yet, but somehow they already have a scratch on them. Twice they were supposed to call me to let me know my glasses and later contacts were ready for picking up, and twice they failed to call me. I showed up hoping they were done, and was lucky that they were. The only redeeming quality, was the petite blond lady that helped me select glasses. She went above and beyond in service, helped me select glasses, then later helped me get the glasses legs changed to something more comfortable while keeping the main frame that I wanted. Bottom line. Don't come here. Don't waste your money. Even if you are desperate, make an appointment somewhere else. read more

Went to get a prescription and glasses they specifically told me next day pick up when i asked multiple time then i checked my order status and it says 3 weeks from now like :/ how fucking lame! whenever i call the store number it automatically transfers me to the corporate. When i spoke to them they are 100% rude and don't give af will hang up on you! when i asked to transfer to store they put me on hold for 25 seconds!!!! literally timed it lol they told me they aren't available and said they tried 2 times like??? how does 25 seconds make 2 phone calls like obviously they won't answer! Very poor service on the day I went in. Had difficulty getting a floor person to help me with my selection or placing my order. Six weeks later after excuse after excuse after excuse why my order has not been delivered I called corporate to find out that my order had been canceled the day after the credit card was ran. My order was canceled due to "frame breakage". At no time did anybody from the store reach out to me to make recommendations or let me know that I would need to choose new frames. Also I called every week for six weeks in a row and was blatantly lied to about the status of my order. I would never recommend anybody do utilize the service. Poor service!!! From online information, Stanton Optical required to make eye exam appointments online or phone. I did both time and never get an true eye exam done there, with the cost of time off!!! I had been to the store twice for an eye exam, and expecting to get two pairs of glasses since it was recommended by a colleague. 1. First time I scheduled an appointment online last Saturday, and was confirmed. When I got in this store on the scheduled time, I was told the exam can only be done by telemedicine because no doctor in the store. If I want to see the Doctor in real, I need to come on Thursdays. Therefore no service I got on my first visit. However I got an email asking me to do survey for my undone eye exam. 2. Second time, I called for an eye exam appointment on this Thursday requesting be examed by the doctor in person. The lady at call center confirmed that it will be a doctor in person for my eye exam before she scheduled for me on 3/31/2022, Thursday. Today I took two hours off and went to the store on time at Sunland Park again. The front desk staff Mr. Andy checked the Schedule and told me only telemedicine for my appointment today! He also mentioned that the online schedule did not know the store rule that in person exam can only be scheduled in store in person! I explained to him in detail about how I was confirmed by the call center that the exam will be the doctor in person exam... Then Andy kindly said the doctor can see me since the 5 pm patient no show. I greatly thank him for the kindness. He pointed me to sign on and check in on the the sheet inside of the store. I then provided my insurance info to the lady who was in charge of check in sheet. After I wait for 30 minutes, the lady called me and told me I will only get telemedicine eye exam today since the doctor was busy. I took 2 hours off from work, waited for 30 more minutes beyond my scheduled appointment, then was not allow to see the eye doctor in this place! What a joke of the whole process. Why this company and store can fool customer like this!!! I told the lady this is not correct way to do business and treat customers. When I stepped out, I called the company trying to talk with the company's customer service office. However I was told no manager is available, and they will call me back in two hours. Guess what, no call back to me from the famous Stanton Optical. Definitely they did not offer standard services, and do not care of services and customers at all!!! read more

UPDATE *** Called their corporate number and left a complaint in full detail and was told I would get a call back in 24 hours to 48 hours. Surprise surprise !! Never got a call back. Stanton does not care and the own manager said my child is not suffering with no glasses!!! Avoid. By far THE WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! Please do not waste your time. I moved here and I was in middle of insurance change. I get to exam for my son and they tell me at end of exam that he needs to come back next Friday for eye dilation. I tell the young man that my insurance is charging by then and he said , "oh that doesn't matter because it's part of same exam" I said ok and scheduled it. Called day before and asked same question, will I be charged due to my insurance change , was informed again no it is part of same exam. Now today is the eye dilation for my son and I sign in and I tell the two ladies that my insurance changed and will it matter and was told AGAIN , no it doesn't matter it's part of same exam. During exam I ask again if I will be charged and again told no. Now after my sons dilation I wait for RX and lady says that will be $45 dollars!! WHAT!????? I explained to her what I was told numerous times , she goes back to ladies that told me that and comes back and says your insurance termed. Yeah no duh!! I told you it was going to and you guys said it didn't matter countless times. She brings in a tall male , maybe manager, he says same thing. I said as a company you should eat cost because I was told numerous times it would be covered. Why would I waste my time if I had to pay?!!! So anyway I walked out and got my husband and he talked to that tall male and yes I now have his name Sergio Sedano Brand manager. He told my husband that my son is not suffering!! Really?? Avoid this place at all cost, after using Stanton optical for years I came to the location at Sunland park. I wanted to try contacts although I have an astigmatism my contacts were much more expensive. I had three different exams done virtually and all were different I could not see out of either contact lenses. After my second appt the gentleman assisting me said they can't get your nearsightedness correct that's the issue but I can't comment because this is not my store I'm from las cruces. Well that wasn't very reassuring for me he even told me to leave and go to another location I gave it the benefit of the doubt with yet a 3rd failed exam. I was then told I had three exams so choose the one that was best. I couldn't see out of either who wants to pay 400$ and not be able to see. Worst customer service ever, THEY DONT DISINFECT the eye machine where people put their face, saw two people after myself use the machine and not wiped down once. Asked for an alcohol wipe and lied she had already cleaned it. employees rude to elderly people made an appointment and never got my exam, left after an HOUR OF WAITING, and no courtesy notice that they had technical difficulties and kept lying. Said they were going in order, but everyone was being denied their appointment on time. I was in and out within the hour and my glasses will be ready tomorrow which is exactly what I needed. They were so pleasant and had the best prices. The first thing I asked when I walked through the door was, "Do you take my insurance here?" The employee said yes. I proceeded to spend over 1 hour looking for glasses since I already had a prescription from my doc. As I was ready to check out another employee said, "Oh, we don't take your insurance here." I have an allowance for frames which is why I asked the first guy in the first place. Rude and uninformed employees makes for crappy customer service. I've been to this Stanton before to get my eye exam done , the issue isn't with the exam it's with the service, I went in for contacts and placed an order for three months worth and was told to wait 2-3 weeks for them to come in and I would get a call or text . Well, a few weeks go by and I go in to ask where my contacts are it's been well over 3 weeks and I wanted to check , woman says they don't have them to wait another week and check back . I wait another three weeks then go back in and my contacts were finally ready after all that not even worth the time spent waiting . Save your time and your money go somewhere else . read more
