I called for an appointment this morning and they had something available at 1:15. I specifically said that I needed a comprehensive eye evaluation and not just a vision check for glasses. I was told no problem that I would see the doctor and get a full exam including dilation if necessary. However, when I showed up they have you sign all these waivers on a tablet and one is called a Refraction Waiver. It basically says that you understand this is not a complete eye examination and so they are not responsible for missing something. When I told the receptionist I was here for a comprehensive full eye exam like I said on the phone she said you still have to sign the waiver. Then she talked with someone else and said I could see the optometrist but she was leaving for lunch so I would have to wait. It was 10 minutes after 1 pm at that point so I said never mind and walked out of the store. The whole setup is just to do a cursory vision check and then sell you glasses or contacts. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very poor service. Terrible selection and a staff that doesn't care about quality. I had an eye examine and had to do some of the adjustments myself because the tech really couldn't have cared less to set up the equipment properly. The eye exam they gave me was also incomplete. Made an appointment so we didn't need to wait the estimated 45 minutes. When we arrived for our appointment, we waited for an hour. After asking why it was taking so long, we were told it would be another hour! We didn't need to be frustrated if they told us up front about the wait time. There are no real appointments at this place. Stay away unless you like to be treated like an idiot and disrespected! I understand that this is a low-end price store. I can see that previous reviews on this location have not been redeeming to say the least. Let me add a positive because that's calling it like I see it. I bought glasses at the Fountains location and did not have a good experience during the initial process but eventually got my glasses. Right at 20 months, the nose price broke off and I returned to see if they could replace them. This is where my previous doubtful situation only worsened. A young man at the counter who listens to my situation said that my frames were now discontinued and I would have to pick new frames at no cost since they were still under warranty (2 yrs) BUT I would need new lenses and could get them at half off- my lenses were over $600 and even half off was unreasonable. My last effort was to visit the Sunland location. I explained to the sales rep ALEXANDRIA, and she looked up my original order, placed a new one for the exact frames AND gave me 10% off due my experience at the Fountains location. The frames came in 2 weeks later, popped in my original lenses and PROBLEM SOLVED! When people care and understand their job function, GREAT SERVICE CAN BE ACHIEVED.!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! This optical place advertises the free eye exam and two pairs of glasses for Less than $100. And when you get there, they tell you the exam costs $89 and to make the long story short they offer you two pairs of glasses for the price of one, it is all a huge scam! They only use the cheapest materials, I am very sorry I walked into this place the first time, because it turned into a big nughtmare. After two months and several trips to the place, I was there with two broken sets of glasses this past Monday and the so called "manager" Angel is his name, told me they do not give refunds to nobody, he turned around and left me talkkng alone, so unprofessional! While I was there two more people came in complaining about their glasses, I ended up leaving the store with no glasses. They ripped me off with $247.00 I just got me a better pair of reading glasses for $20. Much better quality and real goood customer service at Target! read more

This place is horrible! I went to pick up my glasses and they wouldn't let me try them on until I paid the balance due. They said I could run out of the store without paying the balance. This was so insulting. Who picks up glasses without trying them on to make sure everything is ok. Everyone was so rude! I will never step foot in that store again and you shouldn't either. very rude staff but before i get, the eye exam it self had to go back to get it redone for me and my wife because the eye exam on both our prescription were so off it was horrible and have us head ache. Paid so much to get bad prescription Now for the employee that was working there, from the start one employee was giving me so much horrible attitude. So while i was waiting my turn for eye exam and i go to ask a question and she is asleep on the counter. WTH idk she was sick, hung over but she just look horrible. After with same employee, I was talking something over with my wife about the eye exam and I turn to her and she just rolling her eyes looking like she did not want to be there . Last thing we were waiting for them to to make a appointment to a other location and she just sat there. 25 mins later. I seriously got annoyed and call my self and made sure the doctor was going to be in the facility because they already screwed up one prescription. HARD PASS! Despite what the website says, this location does not accept all the insurance companies listed. I walked up at 9:00 for an appointment, I was politely greeted and sent to the back for my exam. However, you never actually see an eye doctor. The young lady in the back was polite and informed my insurance was out of network and could assist in helping me complete an out of network claim. I declined and left. Here is what made the experience unpleasant. The floors where absolutely atrocious, it looked they hadn't vacuumed since they opened. It was MONDAY MORNING, why aren't your floors clean!!! The second thing was the music it was WAY to loud. The guy working the counter was listening to a podcast and was trying to make sure he could hear it over the loud music. It that wasn't enough, they turned on the TV. So, they have loud music, loud podcasts and the television on. WAY TOO MUCH for an optometrist, oh wait, there isn't an actual optometrist there. I came to stanton optical on sunland after i had purchased a groupon for a gift certificate for their store. When I entered the store the first employee ignored me, then was extremely rude & unclear when I inquired about the value of the gift certificate. The second employee I encountered was more helpful & clearly explained to me that since i was interested in buying more then one pair; the groupon would not be the best option. Now that my gift certificate was pretty much rendered useless, i optioned to go ahead & use the in house promotion. They then forced me to take an eye exam with their doctor that was reporting remotely over a screen before they would sell me any completed pair of glasses. The doctor & technician were not very observant to the fact the exam machines were not working correctly even though I stopped the exam because i felt that i was no getting a correct reading. Went to get my glasses at this franchise for the first time! Had a bad experience at the location at the fountains, I had made an appointment and I was made to wait more than an hour outside in the heat with a bunch of people, so I left. I decided to try again at the Sunland location. I was reluctant to try any frames they all looked like they have been worn by a bunch of people and hadn't been cleaned after, most of them had marks on the lenses (red marker lines) employees did not seem knowledgeable about the eyewear when I was asking questions. Well now it's 3 weeks later and the date on their webpage for my prescription arrival keeps changing its been "in transit to store" for the past week and today marks the 3 week mark and now it's telling me they won't get here til Monday June 1st. Called them a couple of days ago and all they did was read me back what I could plainly see on their website, then when I questioned them about there being a problem With my order, I was told he had created an email with my information so that a manager would contact me later with information. Three days later and I still haven't heard from them. Worst experience ever. I just hope that when I receive my order if I ever do! It's correct. I need my glasses to actually be able to see for my job. It's imperative that they are done well and timely. Not satisfied at all with these people. i've gotten two eye exams from here and both were just so wrong. my glasses don't improve my vision at all, in fact they make it worse.

Terrible customer service. They couldn't find me as a customer, after I spent $150.00 there. Then they tell me they'll give me a call when my glasses come in from somewhere. I wait one week, no call. Two weeks, I call the service to check on the status of my order, it says they're still working on them, they'll give me a call when ready. I went to Stanton Optical to get an eye examination and glasses. I received a eye examination over the internet. Waited about 2 hrs for that and another 20 for my glasses. They were the wrong prescription and even the person who was helping me stated so. I was told to come back the next day with an appointment to get a examination by a doctor in person to get the right prescription. I show up and check in and 1hr15min later I get asked to go to the main area away from the doctors. I stated that I needed a new exam and it was replied to with did you wear them? I tried explaining that I wear glasses and my 2yr old script was more powerful than the one they gave me and it was to weak. That the girl the day before confirmed this fact. That was met with hostility and then ignored. Was told that I was provided long vision script and I needed one for short vision. I tried to explain that with the current one I couldn't see long vision ither but again that was ignored. I received in the end two pair of reading glasses good for about 3ft, good for my phone. Something I could have got at many stores for $10. My 2yr old glasses let's me see better. Still need another exam, wasted $60... read more

Came here to warn anyone I possibly can NOT to go to Stanton Optical for an eye exam and glasses. I had the worst experience I've had in years with any business in El Paso. It's a total bait-and-switch scheme in that they advertise a free eye exam and two pairs of glasses for $59.95. There might be one or two frames in that entire store that actually cost that much. Two pairs of glasses I picked were $400. They don't even have an eye doctor. The exam is telemed, meaning you see a refractionist on a TV screen who apparently controls the machines for the exam on his end. I never had the pleasure of having the exam done, but the way it was explained to me just sounded really strange. I had an appointment on a Saturday and when I got there, their computers had "crashed." The girl rescheduled me for Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. I get there and I wasn't in the system so I was considered a "walk-in." The wait for me was going to be 1.5 to 2 hours. They had 4 people scheduled for 9:00 a.m. That means at least 3 to 4 people had a long wait time. The assistant manager, Andy, was totally uninterested in helping me in any way. He was so incredibly cold and rude. The customer service was awful! I can't express enough how bad the experience was. In the end, I was able to get a refund, so I went immediately to the eye doctor I had seen the last time I had my eyes checked, which is what I should have done from the beginning, and as a walk-in I only had to wait 20 minutes to be seen.
