This is my second time going to Stanton optical and my whole experience was great. I dealt with Jasmine the sales manager who's very friendly and helpful. I made an appointment for both my husband and myself at the same time to just make life easier. The system accepted the two appointments and promptly sent us confirmations and then 3 day reminders etc etc. We scheduled our day around this appointment time. The day of the appointment (today) just a few hours out I get an email that ONE of our appointments has been rescheduled to another time (same day). No phone call if this is ok, will this work for you, nothing. And when I try to actually reach the Evansville location I am stonewalled by an "central customer service" location that won't explain who and why this was done and basically tells me I should just make the new separate times work. I will be going elsewhere - somewhere where I am as valued as a client as they are as doctors with my time. read more

Why didn't I think to review the reviews before setting the appointment? Pure laziness. All that went bizarre did. Amanda was the best part of the appointment. If she had been with us during our entire time, I'm quite sure this review would have been different. Unfortunately she wasn't so... 1. Was not told over the phone but at the appt that we were not in network 2. 2 out of the 3 employees were disinterested and weren't personable in the least. 3. Didn't see any visible disinfecting of equipment before use. Clerk was irritated when I asked for a cloth to rest my chin on. She said they disinfect after every patient...yea well if I don't see it I'm not taking the risk.. 4. After initial exam, I was told the doctor would see you now...I hear the doctor speaking but don't see her. Oh look she's on the monitor! Okayyyy...covid and all I get that. 5. Expecting a nice or introductory convo. Nope. She listed instructions like a prison guard. Didn't ask me any questions outside of which lens is best. Next thing I know the appointment is over. Didn't ask me if I had any questions...screen goes dark. The assistant then comes in says the doctor will write my script. 6. Okay so I'm back in the waiting room, I'm called again and handed two tester contact lenses. No instructions how to put them on. No info on how my eyes were...so I struggled alone to put them on. Alone. 7. Went to pay...um. How are my eyes? Can somebody tell me something about how my eyes are!?! I was told...Oh well you have astigmatism in both eyes...do you want to order glasses or contacts? 8. From here? Hell no. 9. Waiting for my husband to get done and we are out. Never to be seen again. It's not worth listing the other cringeworthy things about this practice so let's just say even though I have paid for a exam...I will be getting a "second" opinion from another location very soon. New to Evansville area and had an eye issue that I have dealt with off and on for over a year that once it reoccurs, I have to see an eye specialist. I called yesterday and before I made the appointment, I made sure they would be able to help me, before I made the trip there and the money. Was told yes, just to find out after being there for 2 HOURS waiting, mind you they were not busy at all, it was such an unorganized place. That they could not help me. After waiting 2 hrs and paying I will NEVER return. Stood upfront at the counter to pay and 2 ladies who work there saw me stand there, came to the counter and did not acknowledge me or anything etc, and after waiting for 40 minutes I finally asked not for the first time, second time, but the 3 time for help so I could leave. GREAT selection on glasses, but no sense of rush, extremely unorganized and unprofessional. read more

They gave me glasses that were not usable. When i told the lady it was blurry she said to give it time. Well that time never came. I took them to another doctor and after testing the lenses, I was told there was no way I would ever see anything using them. Called the Evansville location were I got them and was told to bring them and they would check them. I said if you could do that then why didn't you before you gave them to me. Then he offered to sell me another pair! My response, "are you kidding"....I will never do business with them again and I will find every sight to rate them. I paid over $500 for my glasses and very disappointed with this company. I'm going to call and call until I get someone on the phone that has some sense. The only reason they got one star is because 0 stars isn't possible. After 50 days my Frames broke. Instead of replacing my frames they wanted to charge me more on a co-pay to replace them. I should have looked them up on Yelp Before I went in , at least I could have prepared myself for the horrible customer service that come with this company. Anyone been to Stanton Eye Vision Center?? If you need glasses, DO NOT go there. They advertise 2 pair of glasses for $59. The frames they offer for promotion are Dollar Store quality at $19. I picked out a pair for $49 and was told all I pay is difference. $30 right? My total was $177. I was expecting $89. Since I didn't get Dollar Store quality glasses, I had to pay for lenses too. I chose to "drop in" Stanton Optical after making an online appointment 30 minuets before I wanted to be seen. I was seen almost immediately. Background: I recently saw my private optometrist for a checkup. The last two times I had glasses made at his office I couldn't see out of them, but I was unsure if my eyes had changed or what. This time, I took my prescription and went to Stanton and had my eyes checked again. (I didn't tell them that I had recently been checked and already had a prescription). The one the refractionist gave me was very different from the one the optometrist hassles given me. I had inexpensive glasses made with the new prescription. Amazing!!! The first glasses I've had in years that actually worked well for me! The only complaint I have...my glasses had to sent out to be made. I was told it would take 7-10 days, and they would call me. After 7 days I called and the automated thing said they were still in the t thelab. 7 days later I called, same thing. 7 days later(now 21 days out) I called and got the same thing. I went to the store to find out what was going on. My glasses were ready, and apparently had been ready for a couple of weeks. I live more than 50 miles from the store. Dropping by to check on progress should not have been necessary. Verdict: got appointment very quickly, very nice, helpful staff, excellent refraction, great glasses, reasonable price. Terrible! I wouldn't send anyone there; in fact I actively tell people NOT to go there. I could not recognize any letters on the eye chart with one eye, it all looked like foreign letters and they said I had to wait while the results were being reviewed. 45 minutes later they said my eyes were fine. Staff was kind and helpful. Although the lady working the desk for the exam portion was very soft spoken and acted like she just did not want to be there. Feel like the price was too high for the free exam and 2 for $60, ended up paying around $240. However, I'm sure the contact exam was not free, nor were the trail pair of contacts. I first went there in October 2019 with a Rx from my Opthmalogist. My health insurance paid 80% but had to se Stanton for glasses. Person there said my Rx was wrong & insisted on re-exam & using new Rx. Order was lost. Finally got glasses in February. Told needed to get used to them-began seeing dbl. Returned glasses- told I needed prism. Glasses remade-took 4 more weeks. Back for Opthmalogist visit-Rx wrong, tri-focal in wrong place& frames crooked. Returned to Stanton to correct problems-told would take 2 wks Still waiting after 3 wks. Wouldn't recommend anyone ever going there. read more

Went for the special and they had about 12 pair of ugly glasses that were on special. I choose to go another route and selected 2 pair of glasses that were not part of the sale. My total cost came to almost $400. I inform them , that I was not paying 400 for glasses. All of a sudden they were able to lower the price to about $290, which I reluctantly paid for. I then remember back to when I took my mother to Stanton Optical and they overcharged her for glasses and guaranteed if we would have disputed the charge they would have lowered it. Stanton Optical Specializes in Price Gauging. They are not customer oriented and are concerned about getting as much money from the customer as possible. read more

I went in only for an eye exam to earn points toward my health insurance. Everything I saw on the website stated that the eye exam was free, but I suppose somewhere in the fine print was "with purchase of two pairs for sixty nine dollars." The customer service was fine, they were friendly enough, and the two who actually did the exam were very friendly and professional. The store itself was unbelievably dirty! Even the entrance to Walmart is not this dirty. There were cobwebs with dead insects in at least three corners of the sales displays. Large pieces of lint/dust were visible on the floor. The laminate flooring was scuffed up very badly and there was a layer of dust on it that I could scrape with my shoe. The girl tried to get me to buy glasses and I insisted I just wanted the exam, so after my insurance, co-pay was ten dollars. Their full price is forty-five dollars. She printed a receipt and tried to print my prescription (insisting I not leave without my prescription in hand), but the printer for the prescription would not work, so I just left. Bottom line: staff is friendly and professional, store is so dirty that it is worth visiting just to see how dirty it is. I promise. read more

Customer service was non existant. I waited at the counter as my child's frames were broken and I needed the lenses placed in New frames. The first person to acknowledge my existence said she was still in orientation and was sorry but couldn't help me. No big problem there, I mean hey she acknowledged i was there right? Next was a tech from the back of the store who asked if he could help me, I began to explain what I needed and without further delay waved his hands around and stated " someone up here can help you with that" as he walked back to their secrets laboratory of glasses production. Lastly a nice woman walked by, I'm assuming the manager, and said " I'll be right with you" as she walked in the opposite way. After waiting most of my lunch break she returned to my relief because my child really needs his glasses, only for her to look at the first woman who told me she was in orientation and state " you can come in the back with me" as they both walked by me into their secrets lair when customers don't exist. I would not go here unless you are looking to test your skills in patients or want to u understand the military phrase hurry up and wait.....or you really want to know what it would feel like to be invisible. read more

After ordering new lenses, I was told it would take at most 2 weeks to get them but that it almost never took that long. I called at the 2 week mark, and they said glasses are not sent on weekends, so it would take a few more days. After 2 1/2 weeks, I called again and they said there was a "shipping issue" and it would be 5-7 more business days. What kind of shipping issue delays the glasses another 1 1/2 to 2 weeks? Were they never shipped? The original order took a week, but apparently when you use the lens insurance, you're not a priority. All I got was "I wish there was something I could do." Well, there is... another pair free? This is not how customer service works. read more

I recently visited Stanton Optical in Evansville, Indiana as a new patient this past month. As we entered, it was very confusing as to where to go. Finally, someone asked what we were there for and directed me to the waiting room. The employees were not very helpful and not courteous or attenative to any patients. Also, very disorganized and "scatterbrained," if you will. My doctor was nice, but treated me as just another number coming through her office and left me alone while I was trying on new contacts. The pair she gave me were actually blurry and she had to check my eyes again with my original contacts in. I wanted to try a differnt brand, but she had no interest in helping me and I felt rushed to get out of her way. Once I was done, no one told me where to go or what to do. I had to ask someone what to do next, and at this point I was ready to just walk out the door, in which case the employees wouldn't have even known or cared. When I finally got up to the desk to pay, I told the employee I would like to do the 2 pairs of eyeglasses plus a free eye exam for $69. She said okay, started typing some numbers, and then told us our total which was over $250! I said no, I would like to do the $69 deal. She explained how she came up with the total, and I said no way. The ad is VERY misleading. I told her I just wanted to pay for the exam and forget it. She also tried charging me for a contact exam, which I did not get. I was so ready to just leave at this point. She continued to try and bargain with me, bringing the price lower and lower. I also noticed other customers wondering around not being attented to. I ended up going with a deal she pushed on me for two pairs of eyeglasses with plastic lenses, no scratch protection, and an eye exam for $103. I left, and will never go back, and I have no problem telling people that it is false advertising and to choose another eye care facility. When I returned to pick up my glasses, once again the employees seemed too busy for me and didn't value any customers there. We were all just numbers to them. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes while they attempted to "track them in the system" which would not load and then they picked up the phone and hung up on me. I have tried Stanton three times now. I was so disappointed in the approach of Stanton Optical. I was not aware that you had to demand the Buy one get one free. I was so vulnerable I believed the price quoted to me was final, I declined, ready to leave. Then she says I can give you friends and family discount. Was about 70.00 off. Not happy because I wanted the deal for $189.00. Instead I ended up paying 309.00. She never said I could opt for the $189.0 deal. Instead she wanted me to upgrade the lenses because the frames I chose would not work on progressive lens. No! Never experienced those sales gimmicks before. I will go to Walmart at least no misleading or deceiving tactics! read more

After reading all of the other reviews on here I have to write mine to help them out. They must be under new management because I went in 2 days ago and everyone there was nice and courteous. I only waited around 10 minutes to be seen by the doctor then went straight over to pick out my glasses. I also want to state that the 2 pair for $69 is exactly what I got and what I paid. I really wish I could upload a photo proving this. I told them that is what I wanted when I went in and it's what I got :) I would recommend them. Buyers beware. I ordered lenses for my existing frames on Saturday October 21, 2017 from Stanton's Evansville, Indiana office and was told to come back on Monday October 23, 2017 and they would be ready to put in my frames. I drove one hour from home today expecting to get my new lenses only to find out that they weren't there. A simple phone call would have stopped my two hour round trip for nothing. Now I have to return tomorrow. That's four hours driving to buy lenses. I complained to Stanton's headquarters and got a snide apology but nothing more. Very bad public relations. I requested a refund since it does not help me see better. He refused and instead offered me digital lenses and pay $200 more. I refuse to pay more. I orderave glasses from the Evansville IN locationon 3-14-13 and still don't have them. When you are getting prices its like lets make a deal. I was first told 2 pair of glasses would be 1500.00 then it was 750.00 for one pair. When I said that was too much I was asked by Andrew what I had budgeted for glasses. I should have walked out then. I ended up paying over 540.00 for one pair of glasses and they were ordered with a promise of a 3 day arrival. On the 19th I called and was told sorry would be another week. They had tried to cut them in their lab and ruined one lens so were having to send them to the corp office. A week later I called and was told well it would be another week. When I asked to speak with a manager I got Wendy who I must say is the most unprofessionl person I have ever dealt with. She promised to return my call and then when didn't 4 hours later I called and was treated very poorly. I was promised by corp office that the glasses would be in the store yesterday. I was told yesterday yes they came in but when trying to get the glasses ground down to fit frames they broke a lens. So now they have to send them back and I can't get an answer or guarantee on when they will be redelivered.
