Stanton Review Today my husband and I went to Stanton Optical in Hanford. His glasses broke and we needed to get something quick. We worked with a wonderful staff member and she was incredible. Super helpful and did everything she could to get the glasses at a price we could manage. We were torn between two options and she said if we changed our mind we could come in and change the order. Within a few minutes, we made the choice to go with a cheaper option because money was tight and this expensive was unexpected. I walked into Stanton and was greeted with the store manager Martha. I explained the situation and she immediately responded with an abrasive disrespectful tone. Another employee stepped in to help and she was pulled aside to talk about something to which the manager started speaking Spanish so I wouldn't understand what was being said. She told me she wouldn't deal with me, only my husband and that I wouldn't be able to change the order. So I went out and got my Husband. When I walked back in Martha the store manager was getting onto the wonderful staff member that I first met with for helping. She was incredibly rude to her staff and putting her down for helping. All the while My husband and I were standing right there. Martha then began to speak to my husband acting as if I wasn't there. She handed paperwork and nearly shoved it into his hand and walked out of the lobby. I then stood with the staff member and my husband and I told her that she in no way did anything wrong and we weren't changing the order due to anything she did. She smiled and said it was okay and proceeded to help us. I asked her if her manager was being rude to her, and she quietly said yes, but it's okay, nothing for you to worry about. I wish I could say I've never experienced such disrespect from a store manager but, Martha acted the same way a year ago when I was there with my son. Rude to me, trying to upsell me, and not allowing me to access the sale that was posted on the door because I didn't qualify. Even though I did. I called the corporate office to advise them of the customer service, or better yet lack there of, from Martha. And the disrespect that she showed my family and her own staff. Be advised if you choose to go there, to stay clear of Martha. She's rude, and mean without cause, and she only cares about marking sales up and getting more money. I love how I took my time to schedule an appointment. Filled my health questions. Came 10 minutes early. Then the walk in who came in at a similar time goes before me. I'm then asked to go kill time by viewing glasses after my check in. I guess I'll just forget it all and walk in next time. You can't control yelp reviews, but you CAN Google. read more

First, get rid of the deceptive hook to get you in the door. The $79 that is implied to get you seeing again isn't exactly honest. I realize it can't be as "easy and cookie cutter" solution for everyone, but went into near shock when the price was revealed. It was a bit over $2000.00. I've worn glasses all my life and on an average paid about $375-$700 for two pairs...one being photo-suns that darken when I go in sun as I have photophobia, and the second is my Rx as full sunglasses. So the inflated amount was crazy as I had had my exam at my eye doctor's office. Then it was explained that my insurance would bring it down to $800. Another issue appeared once I got the upon their arrival. They weren't set up for "photo-suns"...neither pair of regular glasses. The sunglasses, which were my own frames, was just to get a Rx update didn't arrive. So it was very difficult to navigate as usual because my eyes were in severe squint mode. They sent an order to replace one of the pairs with the needed photo-suns. That took another few weeks, and still no sunglasses, but getting the photo-suns did give some relief! While frequently checking on the shades I was met with poor excuses and one occasion the person that greeted me back peddled, and repeatedly mentioned she'd help me but she's on her lunch. After waiting 20 min. and no further contact I had to leave. I made multiple calls, every few days, for the status of my shades...twice I was told the glasses were complete and ready to install them into the frames but the tech scratched the lenses. It took nearly 2-1/2 months for them to be sent. The local office referred them to the "corporate" office. Seeing that I was very irritated they gave me the ups tracking number to watch. The origin started in China to Japan to Alaska to kentucky to 2or more cities in Texas. After another week and a half, I got a message that my glasses had arrived. The manager did credit my billed with a $100. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had getting glasses. It was stressful from start to finish, and escalated only by the staff's lack of attention, staff selfishness, and staff's lack of technical skills demonstrating carelessness, to make the product complete. I promise that i will never return to Stanton's for optical service! You make your own choice on this issue. read more

This is how service should be! Came in here because I broke the frame to my glasses and needed another frame for my lenses. Didn't want to do a whole eye test and then wait weeks for a pair of glasses . Went in and they immediately found a frame, put my lenses in them, and I was out in 5 minutes! Love it! read more

I went into the Hanford location this morning for an eye exam. They charged me for the eye exam and then told me that they wouldn't be able to give me a prescription because the telemed doctor couldn't bring my left eye to 20/20 vision. So i called corporate to get a refund because I was charged for services i didnt recieve. They told me if was a service and it was non-refunable. This place is a joke, go to a real eye glass company! read more

First time at this establishment & the gal who took care of us was awesome! She was on it & personable. On the other hand the remote doctor is ridiculous. As a customer of America's Best for many years, I decided to give Stanton Optical a try. Price point seemed on par until I realized they have maybe 10 pairs of glasses for the 2 frames for $79 deal. Then the price point begins to climb rapidly. Because I did not want to spend $250 for frames, I paid for the eye exam and left. If you want to be seen by a remote person on a computer screen and you don't care how you look, this may be the place for you. The worst optical experience hands down and terrible business practice. However the employees who helped were nice. read more

Went to Stanton Optical ,because they advertised 2 pairs of glasses for the price of one...and free eye exam , asked when I first got there if eye exam is free, said they would answer all my questions when we get to the back. As we started the exam I asked again if the exam was free ? she said yes. My eye exam was given by someone online! Went on with exam cause it was free... when it was all said and done I was charged for two pairs of glasses and a eye exam! Now tell me what part of this story sounds like a deal!!! Total of Almost 500$. After complaining "that this is not what they advertise", they adjusted the price .. the final price $377.00. Wow. Was I scammed!!!!! I would not recommend it or go back again !!!!! I even spoke to corporate and all they could do is apologize!! ..... if I could I would of given them minus star !!!! I came to Stanton after my glasses had broken. This had never happened to me before, so I was unsure on how to fix it. Upon walking in, I was instantly greeted by Melanie and she helped me figure out the problem, just a loose screw, and fixed my glasses for me in a matter of minutes!
