This Staples seems to be badly mismanaged. I always feel like everyone is trying to do their jobs. It seems they just don't have the tools they need to succeed. Gone are the days when employees seemed to know what they are selling, so don't have any questions. And, don't go in the middle of a time crunch because the wait is long for everything. But, as bad as service often is, I can't be mad at the employees. I've never walked in and it seemed like people weren't trying to work. Finally a more spacious section of the store for your Amazon returns or ups. So much faster to get your returns done. Friendly staff. I'm sure I'll receive a generic reply if I get a reply at all. Tell me why there 5 people grouped around the postal ship/ return area but only 1 person working? 4 other people standing around talking and the whole store is a complete mess! Lazy sales people standing around avoiding eye contact with people standing in line for hours waiting to have returns completed. Manager walking around with a walkie and ear piece but not communicating with anyone. No one at the register. I waited 10 minutes before walking out and leaving all my items on the counter. Terrible customer service. Do better. If I come back in there it will only be to gather names and send a letter to corporate with those names. If you don't like your job, quit! I promise you there are people standing in line waiting for it. read more

Awful there's no words .. only one self service copier working and the line was insane just to print a label for shipping then another 30 minutes to hand over the package to be shipped. Needed to also fax a document and had to go back to the one self service . My last three visits have left me with anxiety and headaches. read more

There's orders all over the floor, my package I had shipped to the store apparently wasn't even checked in and was just laying on the ground behind the counter. Went in and saw the line down the aisle and at least close to an hour wait when I realized it was just amazon returns. Luckily for me, I was there to purchase highlighters. The copy center was overwhelmed and there was one person tending to the amazon returns. You would think from their bloated prices that they could throw an extra person on payroll. The shelves were messy and some items on the floor. I don't shop here often and after looking around today with long lines, limited help and the store, as a whole, in disarray, it'll be a while before I find my way back. read more

Staples is usually in stock with the items we need when we need them. We don't come here for anything out of the ordinary. We were up in Middletown and needed to make a quick stop. Pulled into the largest strip mall ever and actually had to ask where they were. Once we pulled around all the buildings we made our way there. Plenty of parking and a very large well stocked store. The cashier answered a few questions for us and we quickly found what we needed. Team members are always helpful and pleasant to work with. These days I am finding fewer and fewer team members around the isles which definitely puts a strain on those who are there. It was a very quick visit getting exactly what we came for. When ordering from Canva, be advised: this store is brand new at this. I called to check if my Christmas card order was ready for pick up. They said it would be completed the following night. I told them I wouldn't be able to pick it up before another day. After that based on the holiday, I arrive the following day to pick up the order and they said that not only was in our printed, they couldn't see the order in their system. There were probably four other people in the store, also having issues picking up printed orders from canvas and the associate insisted that everyone in the store was brand new, and didn't know how to use the system. At one point, they started printing the order, and it was several sizes too large (we ordered 5x7 postcards and they started printing posters of our Christmas card) we eventually sorted it out, but I will be sure to send Christmas cards elsewhere in the future. read more

Individual associates can be very good but there are not enough of them and it is impossible to get through on the telephone (without being on hold for 10 or 20 minutes) if there's a problem. I ordered an item for delivery specifically because it could be had the next day. It did not arrive. I promised callback to locate it never occurred. Staples What a Train wreck!!!!!!!! I usually order from Amazon. However I was in the middle of a project and wanted it right away. So I figured I would try Staples. Big, big mistake. I created an online account and placed my order at 10 am. I had meetings until around 1:30 pm. At 1:45 I headed to the store on my way to pickup my granddaughter from school. In the store I waited patiently at the counter for 15 minutes. Then went to the register and politely asked for help. After some more time I had to leave to pickup my granddaughter. Called the store while I was in transit. Took them 20 minutes to answer asked if They were still backlogged they said no. Returned to the store waited again only to find out the order hadn't even been picked. Left and cancelled my order. I won't say I will never shop there again but they will be my last choice. read more

The Middletown NY Staples staff have a philosophy that goes beyond helping most consumers. They go above and beyond. One example is ALEX DiCarlo Rivera. ALEX is probably the most knowledgeable Staples Technical Associates in New York. He helped us get the best prices for a color printer, and even assembled a Hyken office chair for us. This Staples is literally THE WORSE! I had ordered something to be printed and it was supposed to be ready yesterday. Came in this morning and the guy didn't have it ready and said that the machine was warming up and that it would be ready with-in an hour. I gave a few hours and now there's a line of 5 groups and only 2 people working. There is not enough people working and no sense of urgency. I wish they hadn't closed the Harriman location. This store has the worst customer service I've seen. How do you have staff working in the copy/print area that don't know how to operate the equipment?? I placed an order here for business cards for my hubby. We're supposed to be done by Thursday at noon. By 6pm they weren't done yet due to an issue with the print. They were promised by 5pm Friday with corrections fixed.... well here it is Saturday at 2pm and they can't tell me whether the problems have been corrected or not & they cards aren't even printed. They then asked if I could come back in an hour?? NO! Just cancel the order. Well that's an issue now too because their customer service dept in India isn't even open on weekends so o now have to wait till Monday for a refund?? Never again! could spend hundreds of dollars there BUT they are EXTREMELY UNDERSTOCKED. STAFF is very low and often there are ling waiting lines. New Staples app is hard to use. It seems that they are really trying to go out of business. Recently with about 20 people waiting there was only one person in the copy/ship center. Instead of helping people in line one clerk just slowly taped up Amazon returns. Some stock has been vandalized and not corrected even when reported to employees. Employees also do not seem to be able to put stock in the proper places with the result of expensive items being put in bulk under sale item tags. Yesterday night I was helped by two young ladies, at the print section! The two young ladies were amazing, I mostly come in the morning and I always have issues, my order its either aren't done or I get the runaround, yesterday 10-17-24 the young ladies were extremely amazing as soon as I walked in the young lady said wow I just finished that order. Let me go get it for you. She also helped me go to the self-serve section, to print out some more copies that I needed for my job, usually, the guy in the morning tells me look at the table and follow the instructions. I'm an older gentleman I don't really understand how to do things on the phone, but the young lady took the time out to help me. Send my email get the code and be able to print my documents, The two young ladies had the best customer service ever, from now on, we'll definitely be going during their shifts. On Tuesday, I went to the Middletown, NY store in the hope of completing a small project I was working on. The print/ shipping area was very busy and the two associates were doing a good job of assisting people as quickly as they could. I had the great fortune of asking Philip if he could help me. He was fantastic! He was patient and professional. He didn't seem stressed, while helping me and helping other customers as well. I will happily return with any new projects. After fighting with an ill equipped Staples website, and unsure as to whether or not my order would come out as expected, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Danielle at the copy & print center was AMAZING. My order was correct AND she was able to quickly print the additional pages I needed to print. She also rung up the extra items we needed to buy. It's your average Staples. The copy center portion is pretty good, but you need to plan on going in to get any kind of help or quote. If you call for information you will be on hold forever. Seems they are understaffed but the projects I have had done there has always come out alright. read more

Just experienced the worse customer service ever - stopped in at the store just before 8am. Did not see store hours sign but could see two employees standing at register. Parked got out of car the auto door did not open so I pushed I back. I was told immediately they were not open. I explained only wanted to make a quick copy which would not need assistance and it was just about 8. She went and got a manager that told me they were not open and I could not make an automated photo copy. BAD decision by a inept manager. I would never think to write a review for a Staples but after my experience today I had to. I went in to print/ fax something and had the best customer service. 2 young guys were manning the print center counter, both were courteous and very helpful. The one primarily helping me was clearly busy and juggling multiple orders yet was attentive to me and respectful of other customers coming in while his co-worker tried to help catch up. Exceeded my expectations of coming here for these kind of services. To management: it was Tuesday 1/23 around 3:30-4:00, whoever those guys were are to be praised! Give em raises! read more

Went here to purchase a few items on sale. It was the first day of the sale and they had everything I needed--hence the three stars. I was getting excited when I saw there was no line. Only two registers open, each with a customer but again, no line so I'm thinking great!! Nope!! I waited on line for almost 10 minutes!! Meanwhile there are other workers in the store and even someone behind the counter near the copy center and the counter near the ink. I've been here in the past and haven't been impressed, however, However today I was assisted by BRANDON in the Copy Center. He was most attentive and dedicated, making sure my print's were just right. The copier was reproducing the colors incorrectly, he tried different adjustments & paper stock. So he made the copies on the machine behind the counter as opposed to the self service unit. And all was Great Now, thank you BRANDON. I was on a Deadline and your persistence in making a Customer Satisfied has not gone unappreciated. You are an asset to the Staples Family! I hope they realize it.... read more

I have never met a more incompetent group of people. DO NOT get anything printed there if you actually care how it will turn out. They're equipment is awful and takes forever (30 minutes to print a 24x36 poster and then 30 minutes just for the laminating machine to warm up!). In the end after 3 tries I had to settle for the least worst option, which in this case included wrong alignment and crooked cutting. I wasted 2 days dealing with this place and I just cannot express how unhappy I am. read more
