Covid-19 era review: Staples uses its printing services to display mask and distancing reminders. The copy center and aisles are now arrowed, and the checkout is divined by 5 foot lines. This summer, like every summer before the start of each school year, supply bins are all over! In my classroom, glue and glue bottles are consumed each school year, so 50 cents per brand name bottle is great. Also, since who else buys 30 bottles, and I hadn't asked for it, it was a pleasant surprised when the cashier let me know that teachers have 20% off through September (sweet!). Overall the clean was store, the staff and all guests had masks, and I'm sure I'll be back for more supplies. read more

Today reminded me as to why we come here maybe once a year for a new calendar for the kitchen. The employees can't take no for an answer. I get it, it's probably in their training, but if you try and suggest something to me, and I say NO ONCE, just stop. The gentleman before me was bombarded with "are you sure" "it's 30% off the second cartridge", etc. the same cashier tried that with me, and I just cut him off with a stern NO THANK YOU. This is more of a review of Staples as a whole, but this happened at this location. My wife wanted a new chair for her computer desk, and I figured why not take her along for a "test drive" and let her get what she wanted. They had at least a dozen models on the floor to try out ( which is the only plus) and after 10 minutes decided on a model. The model was the Dormeo task chair model # 60023. We took the Dodge Challenger when we went out, and by the looks of the box, it may not of fit in the trunk. So I took the phone out and went to the website. I wanted to see if that if ordered it online, and I had it delivered, what the charge would be. The price of the chair on the floor was $229.99. I found it on their website for $139.99, $90 less, and with free shipping! I know that a lot of places are now doing e-commerce, and I can see maybe 5 to 10% less online, but 40% less (and free shipping) and no mention of it or getting it at that price in person??? Staples has always been on the high side with prices, but no mention of the online discount or getting it at the same price as online amounts to robbery in my book. read more

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I'd give zero stars if possible. I walked into this location with the hopes of finding ink replacement refills for two pens of sentimental value. As I reached the pen isle, an associate named Katie stood there idle, without any greeting or acknowledgement. I greeted her, and asked if she could help me with finding a pen refill. She looked as though I was interuppting her less than busy day, replying: "You probably know more about pen refills than I do." I was shocked. Then after seeing their associates gossip about a previous customer, and declining my coupons after making me wait; I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects customer service. This is the third time I've been into a Staples recently. After a negative experience at Bishops Corner in West Hartford and at the Mansfield/Willimantic store, I was hesitant, but since I use he Arc Notebook I needed to go so I could replace the discs. My partner also needed paper and we were headed to Stew Leonard's, so we thought we'd give it a shot. Walked in and was immediately welcomed. Asked and was pointed in the right direction to the Arc notebook section. Then looked at paper. The store was well organized, clean, and associates were helpful. Quick and polite checkout. Overall, probably the best Staples experience I've had in a while. I'll be back! read more

Customer service is laughable -- incredibly poor followup. The story is so absurd I had to type it out to explain to people with whom I seemingly went incommunicado for over two weeks! My iPhone battery had been on the fritz draining super quickly for a month until one day it wouldn't turn on even plugged in. So I came here as I had had a good experience when an associate, Jordan, replaced a crack screen for me in the past. At 11:07 am on Nov. 30th I paid for the replacement battery with same associate, Jordan, and was ready for another satisfactory experience... Came back in around 1 pm to pick up the phone "oh... I was just about to call you..." which was a half-truth at best as he was doing nothing when I walked in the store - it's a decent distance from entrance to tech desk... "can't fix it here, have the wrong battery, will have to ship out"... but I was assured with the "expedited service" I was looking at Tues the 4th/Wed the 5th... So I tell Jordan, fine, ship it. Next day I get a call from another employee: "We have your phone here--are we shipping this out?" So obviously I'm super pleased with Jordan at that point... but I confirm to this person to ship it. Tuesday I call to check and it's Jordan who answers, so I expressed my displeasure with his not having shipped it Friday... Then he checks status... "Looks like they just started working on it an hour ago" which is not the Monday he told me they'd start working on it -- "expedited service" my foot! "Jordan, please call me tomorrow and update me." Another day and a half goes by, no call, so I call them. "Jordan, why didn't you call me?!?" "I apologize" He said he'd call me the next day. I call Friday, get him again, "Jordan, why didn't you call me?!?" "I apologize" I asked if they could ship it directly to me rather than store (I'm past the point of wanting to see any Staples employee by this point...) "I'll have to ask about that... but someone will call you Monday to update you" Go there in person the next Tuesday, Jordan's at the counter. "Jordan, what's the status of the phone? No one called me yesterday." "They didn't call you?! Phone battery was all put together then they found another problem... I'll call you with an updated tomorrow" Wednesday Jordan actually calls!!!! "Phone is fixed, being shipped out, have a shipping number but package hasn't been picked up" "Please call me tomorrow with a shipping update." "You got it" No one called yesterday... So I called the store this morning at 11 am, got another guy. "Phone's here.." Two weeks exactly since I dropped it off... Meh. That about sums up my experience. I came here for miscellaneous items, and not one store rep (at least 6 working the floor) asked if I needed help or was I looking for anything in particular. I did have a question and had to seek out someone for help. My question was answered and I made my purchases. Overall I've had better experiences at other Staples. read more

Molly and Jess were my HEROS tonight! I came in at 5:30pm requesting that they would print some earring holders for me. The catch was, I needed them TONIGHT! They were eager to help and did not complain about my rushed order. They even cut them for me! It was all done by 6:30pm! As someone who works in healthcare and used to work retail in college, I appreciated the willingness to help and the genuine concern for their customer. That kind of work ethic is so hard to find. I spoke with Mark, their manager, and he was also lovely. Truly recommend this store! If you meet a Molly or Jess, you're in good hands! I promise. (: read more

I came here 2 days before Christmas, looking to purchase an office chair for my dad. Their selection is amazing! Temperpedic, LaZBoy, Staples brand, etc. The prices are good, $60ish to $300ish, $15 to have them assemble it. I was helped right away, Eric was excellent. He helped me picked out a chair that a man would enjoy, both in looks and in function. He went to the back room to check out items for me, at least 3 times. At one point, I thought the chair I wanted was out of stock in the back, but they offered me the floor model! Nice guys! I eventually settled on a chair, did not want it assembled, and they wheeled it out to my truck and loaded it up. At one point, I was getting overwhelmed with options and decisions, but Eric was very patient with me. And looking around, they had a ton of other items! read more

I Had gone looking for a display adapter for my Mac Mini. I was not looking for an apple one wanted something generic . I could not seem to find it and asked an Associate for help. They just said they did not have it . They did not ask for any further help or assistance. It's not like they were busy with anything else. They were totally free and simply walking around. These days everybody gets stuff online; the only reason we go to a store is to feel the stuff and to talk to a "real person" (if you know what I mean) for more information regarding their products. If the customer service is bad I don't see a real point in going to the store. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Had a return, was made to wait in the regular line. No one was at Customer Service.The cashier was having a problem with my return. (eventhough it was in an unopened box with the receipt) The manager was on the register over. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, I was told to go over to the Manager, who was ringing on a register. She proceeded to make me stand there while she helped other customers...Umm I just waited in line for 20 min. I do not want to stand on the side of your register another 20. Well don't expect to receive a fax at Staples any more! I was very shortly told that they can no longer receive faxes at this site and haven't for well over a year.... A Office supply store that does printing packing shipping and can send faxes but will not receive them. I see why this place is rated so low. The worst customers service through a store manager I have ever experienced. My monitor died. I went in to look for a replacement with a dvi port. He claimed all their monitors have hdmi and go to a library. For this dusche bags information my pc is worth $1500. Don't judge a book by its cover asshole. Just cause we look like bums doesn't mean we are. Our one cat is worth more The your monthly mortgage. When we go to stores we spend. So fuck Staples. Horrible service today! Printing kiosk half broken, wait time with one person in front of me was 40 minutes!!! No time for this. Then she didn't take my reward number and it was too late!! She didn't let me pay my one other item at copy center so I had to wait another 10 minutes at register. Staff walking around slow phone ringing off the hook nobody cares! Helpful employees, clean, but several times I have had to return items because signs for sale with rebate were incorrect. For staples in general, make sure you keep copies of any rebates you send in or you may not get them unless you complain. read more

The Staples, Newington CT store is the worst within its chain when it comes to their Copy & Print services. They are constantly changing the services that they will provide and are very customer UNfriendly!! They have petty charges for every little thing especially if you want to wait for the item to be done. The department is constantly understaffed and the wait sometimes is just insane. The store Manager, rather than properly train the staff, stops services they offer if an employee screws something up, thereby punishing all customers for her failings. Simply put, do not waste your time at this store, go to a different Staples or some other firm. read more

Just left this staples. Im in Connecticut visiting family for the holidays and needed to ship my gifts back home to Las Vegas. I get there and no one greets me or asks me if I need assistance (I didn't really care) I pick out my box and proceed to the shipping center, the young girl there tapes up my box and I begin to put my items in only to be told at the end that I can't ship perfumes in glass... Ok fine I don't have and perfume in glass but nope now it's no perfume at all... Ok fine so she closes the box tapes it and asks me to go to the computer to print my label. I walk over there and click the buttons on the computer to print the label and she runs up saying "no no no I have to do that" how was I supposed to no that??? So she now confident that I locked her out of her computer and there are like 5 people waiting behind me and the store is now closed.... The manager comes over while she's sighing over and over and struggling to "fix" the computer when bam the manager hits the back button and the computer is magically fixed. So now she's typing up my shipping address and I have to spell it all out like she's 3 years old and she's still making errors. Then she measures the box which I got from the store and has 20x20x20 right on it in bold letters and types in 20x20.5x21???? What the hell?? She weighs it next and I can't see the weight but she puts 20lbs on it!!! Let me tell u I was shipping like two pieces of clothing lotion and a flat iron.... But whatever I just want to leave next the total come to $45 WITHOUT insurance!!! She tells me to take my papers and go to the checkout line. When I get there the lady says no u need to check out over there but I'll figure it out. And after 10minutes Im finally leaving the store wondering if my package will even make it back home :/ read more

Store is highly disorganized even during the non back to school time periods. The bathrooms should be avoided even if you really needed to go. And the sales associates activley avoid customers and are disrespectful when confronted. Will not return to this location. read more
