This company stole $3500 from me for towing a car I didn't even own. It would have cost more in my time and legal fees than to just pay them. I got a collection notice from an agency specializing in towing collections. There was no previous contact. Normally you have to call a tow company to get ripped off but these guys will find you and get you without you even knowing. These are next level crooked tow truck drivers. We were stranded after blowing a tire 40 miles outside of Medford and were lucky to have Tesla hook us up with Star 24. They not only towed us once, but ironically a different issue had it done again. Their team is great and even helped us organize a taxi ... to the middle of what we thought was nowhere. Got my car towed same day was $990. I was told I couldn't get any of my stuff out unless I had to $770. That was just for the toe then I was told I couldn't get in onto my stuff because I didn't have a title and registration. I had just bought the car and only had the title until a cell. Meanwhile, I watch a girl who goes ahead of me and they give her her mom's car. When I say wait a minute. She's not on her mom's title. By far the worst towing company I have ever dealt with! They towed a car that was waiting for an insurance adjuster after the car had been run over by a neighbor (it was parked safely next to a curb by our house). I called the towing company the same day the car was towed to find out if they had the car the guy told me they did not tow this car. After speaking with a JSCO deputy I found out in fact Star had been the one that towed it. After calling Star towing back and asking questions the guy was extremely rude and told me he wouldn't give me any information unless I had the vin#. I tried to explain that I didn't have the vin# but I had the license plate and that the Sheriff dept. told me they were the company to tow the car. He then proceeded to tell me that "if the Sheriff dept told you that we had the car then why are you calling"?. This company is SHADY!!!! read more

The people working in the office are not trained properly, incapable of absorbing information - or.... just say whatever they feel like saying at that moment. I called 4-5 times trying to help a family member get their car out of impound and each time was given different information. I was also told that DMV is the one giving out incorrect information as the girl answering the phone at STAR received her registration in days rather than the several weeks DMV had said it it would take. I wound up having to go down there in person only to have some old guy tell me he was keeping my family members personal items because I wasn't "nice" enough to his dispatcher earlier on the phone and slammed the window in my face lol - Basic Good OL Boys flexing their "power" I guess ? read more

I Own a small business here in Medford. Unfortunately one of my driver got my car impounded. I called star towing that night less then 1hr after it was towed and was told it would be $580.00 in the morning to pick up up with a sheriffs release. The next morning I called and talk to the office manager about getting a break because. I even offered them my business to tow my fleet of cars if they where willing to work with me. Not only was she extremely rude but the price went up to $885 dollars. She the. Claimed that it took them over 90 minutes to tow this car when I have cameras in the cars and the total time was less then 1hr and because it was towed before midnight by minutes she charged me 2 days storage fee for something that they had less then 12 hrs. Star towing takes joy in ripping people off. Let face it they just want the car so they can auction it off for even more money while paying there driver hardly anything. I will definitely be filing complaints. Oh and they charged for after hour service but to be in police rotation they have to be available 24/7 what a joke.
