Chad Rutty is amazing and went far beyond what most other business owners would do. 2,000 miles away, with renters in my Groves, TX home, I called him and said my a/c was out. In the middle of a heat wave, he dropped everything and immediately went to restore air for the third time in three years. My a/c unit was original to my home, built in 1998. Rutty has kept it running for me, but we decided it was time to replace the unit rather that feeding money into a 24 year old unit. I'm still 2,000 miles away and couldn't even get a check to him. He trusted me to pay him, and didn't let the family in my home suffer for a day. His service is exemplary.

Instead, if you're not worthy of his services he will fill your unit with freon knowing it has a leak. When called, told & asked about diagnosing the leak and give a response of $95 fee. He even asked & verified again 30 mins before the arrival about the leak on the unit. Instead, he ignored the conversation and took it upon himself to handle it the way he wanted to and decided on his own to take the fast easy way and not have to be bothered with doing the proper work he knows should have been done. Three phone calls and each call was about finding the leak he failed to do the services the proper way that was asked to be done & he knows should have been done as he does other customers. RIP OFF... WOW. Yes, do not be fooled by all the perfect reviews. I did not get the perfect service I imagined and was fooled by those perfect reviews. We waited about a week just to receive a rough estimate, which came in around $10,000 ( not a small job). Given the size of the project and the fact that we are working with a mortgage company on a rehab loan, we requested a detailed written bid outlining the scope of work and costs. Initially, we were told this would be provided within a few days. However, we were later informed that we would need to pay an additional $500 just for them to return to the property and prepare a detailed estimate. This would bring our total to over $1,000 without any actual repair work being completed. When we questioned this and asked if they were interested in taking on the job, we did not receive a clear answer. For a project of this size, transparency and communication are critical. Charging such a high additional fee simply to provide a detailed bid--especially after already paying for an inspection--feels unreasonable and discouraging. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to look elsewhere for a company that is more straightforward.

Since this was set up two days ago, I feel she has bumped me back for other jobs. Was my service call put on the work schedule at all? I've sat home this entire day and put other issues and errands aside. At this point, I'll find another plumbing company and I will not recommend this company to anyone. Common courtesy would warrant someone letting me know they could not keep the appointment today and reschedule.
