The smog check went well at Star Auto check. Service guy was friendly, but distracted trying to service 3 cars at the same time. Service was completed but a lot of waiting since he was bouncing between 3 cars. Smog check was finally completed and I paid my bill. As I was about to leave, the service guy raised the hood over the engine and SLAMMED it shut. I watched he do this from my driver's seat. He SLAMMED it so hard he actually broke part of my grill! I could hear the part shoot across the service area. When I retrieved the part, he was very quick to dismiss it and acted like it never happened. Just said to me, " oh, you can just put it back." Nope. Part is busted. Will not stay on. I could tell he wasn't going to address it as he walked away very quickly and never said anything else. No apology, no explanation why he felt it necessary to slam the hood. Modern cars don't require you to slam the hood shut. I think that's a thing of the past. When I raise and lower my hood, I slowly let the hood down, let it rest on the locking latch, and press it closed. Totally unnecessary to drop it from any distance. This pretty much soured experience. I take very good care of my car and have had no accidents, dents or scratches. Then this happed and it was very disappointing. Breaking the grill was totally avoidable. I'm sure if he were to defend himself he'll probably say he does it all the time. That's why I'm not going back. read more
