Jenna is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and has great tips and tricks for the experienced cook and patience for those of us who struggle to use a stove knob. Her recipes are prepared beforehand based on your tastes and are really healthy, delicious, and easy to prepare. I felt like I was on a cooking show. Her kitchen is professional and well-stocked with tools. She is a great conversationalist and keeps the session moving at the right pace, based on the meals you are preparing. This was worth every penny and I highly recommend Cook Learn Live, and Jenna, specifically.

Jenna is wonderful! Working with her was such a treat!…read more My school sponsored a group of us to attend one of her cooking classes, and it was a fantastic experience. The class was not only educational, it was a lot of fun, and definitely a great reprieve from my typical Sunday afternoons spent studying in front of a computer. Jenna did a great job of overseeing the prepping and cooking of the four dishes we had on the menu for the night. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to manage a kitchen full of amateur chefs (half of whom rarely cook at home)...but somehow she managed to do it with grace! Jenna was extremely patient with and open to all of our questions as well. In particular, I thought she did a great job of incorporating the 'why' behind her answers to questions like: What ingredients do you always have on hand? How do you know which spices go well together? What goes into a vegetable stock? I really appreciated how Jenna tailored the class specifically for a group of grad students, focusing on: increasing the nutritional value of our meals, saving time in the kitchen, and all the while cutting down on costs. Three things that I know I DEFINITELY need to do more of! I walked away from the class with an arsenal of new cooking tips, a full belly (plus a few containers of leftovers), and a packet of recipes from the class. Three hours very, very well spent! Thanks for all of your cooking tips, Jenna! For anyone interested in learning how to eat healthier or to be more effective in the kitchen, I would highly, highly recommend her classes!

I never thought I would do something like that but it makes me appreciate it so much more. We were given wine and hors d'oeuvres during our pasta making session here. It was definitely a new experience and everything turned out great (although I was a little worried about our cooking skills to begin with). After everything was done we got to have the food we made along with a delicious salad and ice cream! I highly recommend this place if they have these events often and the location is in a great spot too!

Steph, the cooking instructor is a recipe blogger in NYC and developed the idea to provide cooking classes in her own apartment. This way, New Yorkers can learn to cook delicious meals in their tiny, less than welcoming kitchen(ettes.) Steph's apartment is also a very unique space and sits at the very peak (literally) of a tall corner building. The space itself is small, but she has an enormous outdoor patio with beautiful views. The second unique part of this class is that Steph worked to recreate dishes from famous NYC restaurants and gives you the recipes at the end of the class so you'll be able to try them at home. Each class has a different menu, but my class featured: US Open Melon Cocktails Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate Jean-George's Tuna Tartare (my personal fav) Momofuku Brisket Buns Levain Chocolate Walnut Cookies (we didn't actually bake these, but she sent us home with some and the recipe) I recommend this class for any foodies, New Yorkers, couples, roommates, a Mother's Day gift, a bachelorette party, a divorce party, or anyone that wants to see how NYC Cookin' works.

On the menu was Haitian soup, Trinidadian Doubles, Dominican rice and beans and Jerk Chicken. The chef was warm and kind and very thorough. She gave us the option off adding heat with a scotch bonnet pepper and showed us a couple of knife techniques to make cutting vegetables easier. We were supplied with aprons and name tags and worked in teams and chatted while chopping, seasoning and cooking. I appreciated the ice water and stools available to ensure I was comfortable for those hours of class. The food came out amazing and flavorful and there was plenty leftover to take home. Its great for a date night or friend group activity or even just solo bc everyone became so friendly.

Chef Sue was both personable and informative, and her demos were easy to follow along with the written recipes. During times when food was cooking or cooling, Sue also showed us some knife skills basics/tricks. The class went on for about 3 hours, including the time to eat at the end. I really enjoyed the experience, but in the future would choose a class with a more substantial output. The Latkes and Sufganiyot were both fried carbs, and we ended up grabbing dinner immediately after because we were still hungry for a real meal. Other than that, would recommend!

For $125/person, I had expected better tasting food though. The small appetizers (spinach salad, prosciutto, Parmesan, olives) may have been put together from a grocery store. For the pasta that we rolled out, the staff only added a plain tomato sauce. The side of vegetables was overcooked and mushy. Tiramisu was all right. We can blame the taste and texture of the pasta on ourselves, because we made it, but I had expected the rest of the food prepared by professionals to be better. No drinks were included -- Healthy Italia is BYOB. There was a nice intro video from the owner telling us about her history and philosophy. She said that she doesn't measure ingredients, and only mixes by feel. How does one teach a cooking class like this? If someone is taking a cooking class, they are less experienced and need precise measurements and instructions. Our flour and water were measured for us, so I guess they do measure something. We were never told the measurements, so didn't have any recipe or any specific learnings to take home. I enjoyed the social time with my group, and especially the long table set out for our group in true Italian fashion. It made us feel like a big cohesive family. However, for $125/person, I felt like we could have had a true learning experience elsewhere or had a much better Italian dinner at a restaurant with drinks. In fact, on the subsequent evening, a few individuals from our group went to a restaurant and ordered similar items served at this cooking class, and the food was remarkably better. And yes, it was less than $125/person with drinks.

Why manipulate the situation to make it seem like we should know and care about how bad he feels when he doesn't care AT ALL about absolutely anything he said or done or acted? He knows he's going to be protected by you and your company! Later that day I was told to join a meeting, What I thought of would of been " mediated " but the CEO, teacher Ro and program manager all attacked me simultaneously did not let me speak AT ALL whatsoever the CEO muted me the entire time everytime I would speak and didn't let me explain anything. She then deleted the video of the meeting purposely so she could get rid of the evidence. Why would she want to have that up on teams, you're literally mentally abusing someone putting them on mute every time their voice is trying to be heard and letting the teacher essentially talk down to me and make things up that didn't even happen. I was also told very rude and hurtful things by the teacher Ro which only a clinical psychologist and or psychiatric doctor would be able to make an opinion on. " you hear things that aren't said" Like I said they do not care what you have to say whether you were right or wrong. The teachers throw the information at you and expect you to retain it without actually teaching it properly, They take no criticism absolutely whatsoever and they can care less as to what their students opinions are right or wrong. They acted highly unprofessional on certain moments. They've spoke to the students as if they were in a position of power, as if they were giving us something. They don't respect mental health issues or individuals that deal with certain disabilities whatsoever. I was also told by a teacher that " I do the work for you." which wasn't the case at all. The CEO of the company took a week off before the program was supposed to end and told us about her miraculous vacation with her family that she was going on... ( just to add, the CEO was highly Inappropriate, she would often talk about what her husband did for work, what nationality her husband was, how old both of her kids were, what she was doing over the weekend when she was leaving class, family members that she was going to do things with... listen All of that is great but do your software engineering students need to hear about the personal details of your life every week? I know I personally don't care at all I was there to learn) Only to come back the week before class is supposed to end to tell us that she needs to push class back another week.. Seeing that they were only two people in the class that day...The main teacher also took a week off before the class was going to end. Just my personal opinion why would you take off during the most important time when students need the most help. It wasn't appropriate timing in my opinion. I wish could've avoided being a part of an education center that didn't hold up to what they promised at all... They really made it seem different in the beginning opposed to what it ended up being. I'm not the only student who feels this way regarding this company but I'm definitely the most verbal when it comes down to it, I'm not going to silence my voice. I genuinely feel what went on at certain times during the classes were inappropriately planned and or executed.I guess I hit a nerve posting this review as well seeing that I got an email from the CEO telling me to go over my signed documents and to reconsider what I wrote. I felt beyond intimidated. It's America I can say what I please.. I can sit here all day and add to this review because there is a lot more that I'm not adding...ALSO she's reaching out to each student to make them write a review based off of what I said, which isn't professional at all. What I said is the truth. If nothing was wrong why go out of your way to ask for better reviews this is childish, your asking for better reviews?
