Terrible service. We ordered popcorn from our seats when we ordered our food and never got it. I also asked for a refill 3 times (the first time the lady took my glass) but I never received a refill. Each time we pressed the button for help it took someone at least 15 min to come and see what we needed. Rounding 4.5 stars up to 5. Since the last review, I have been back twice now, once with just drinks and once with drinks and food. Updating my review based on those two visits. Theater (4.75/5) For one visit, I sat in the regular seats, which have the recliner, the table, comfy chairs, and a great view. The other visit, I sat in the premium seats which had everything the regular seats had but privacy walls. We were also offered popcorn and blankets! The theater did get cold after the start of the movie but other than that, things were awesome. Note: Everyone prefers different temperatures and it could just be me who prefers a little less A/C blowing down on me. At least they offered blankets! Drinks (4.75/5) Over the past two times, we've gotten Halle Berry, Texas Chainsaw, B8tes Motel, and the Grateful Dead. The Texas Chainsaw was a bit meh but the other three were fun colors and creative drinks. Every drink was strong so you get your money's worth as well. Recommend the drinks! Popcorn (4.75/5) Popcorn came with the premium seats. They were a decent size, warm, came with butter, and seasoned salt. The only thing was they were a tad salty for me towards the bottom. Note: Everyone prefers different salt levels and it could just be me who prefers a little less salt. Fried Shrimp Dinner (5/5) Shrimp came out hot, well battered and fried, crispy, and great flavor. Also comes with tartar and cocktail sauce so you can get the both of both worlds. The seasoned fries that came with the meal were also amazing. I am a huge fry person and these fry were definitely in my top 10% of fries I've ever had. Fight Club (3/5) Sandwich was everything the description said so no complaints there. It wasn't a "Wow" entree but it wasn't bad either. The sandwich alone is a 4/5 because it was within expectations and we did finish it. The extra ding was because the sweet potato fries that came out were once again gold and even gummy (i.e. stuck to your teeth when biting into). After two strikes on the sweet potato fries, we'll stick to the seasoned fries which are great! Customer Service (5/5) I definitely appreciate it when the vendor reaches out to me after a less than perfect experience. The manager I spoke with was very professional and addressed every concern I had during the visit I wrote my first review about. She wasn't defensive at all and made me feel welcome enough to come back and try their food again. Did not disappoint! We were already going to come back for the movies because of the upscale atmosphere at a great price point. Glad we were invited back to try their food again as the fried shrimp dinner will be a regular staple. May stay away from the sweet potato fries but their seasoned fries were so good, we won't be missing anything. read more

I feel very fancy coming to this movie theater! I've come a fair amount of times for half-off movie night on Tuesdays. The theater itself is very pretty and clean! Love the big reclining seats and the service is always great. There's also a happy hour special on Tuesdays. I got a classic lime one last time I came and it was pretty good. No complaints. There's no indication that you need a cellphone to order your food, plus they only have a limited amount of servers available to take care of the entire theater with multiple screens! I used to like this place, but the service has really gone downhill. I've given it a couple chances lately, but the service is just bad now. Tonight I ordered a Godfather pizza, a Coke Zero, and a salad with Ranch. I received a Usual Suspects pizza, a salad with no dressing, but they got the drink right. However, they did get my refill wrong. Also, it took an hour and 10 minutes to get my food. The theater was not busy. I won't be going back to this theater. Have been here many times and with the exception of one EXTREMELY BUSY day (Barbie premier) we have always had great service and great food. Service was just slow that time. They have been super accommodating with refunding tickets when we haven't been able to make it and staff has always been very helpful. Seats are clean and comfy and they have some good specials. A 3 and probably a 2.5, BUT. . . I can also say that for me, I prefer to not go back. Reasons. . . In a relatively small radius, large city speaking, there are too many other options for these negatives to ring true. . . Food is not great, popcorn is small and not a refill, it's been a little dirty and chairs coming apart, bad app, limited rewards, online service fee, and lastly, from a personal standpoint, they stole money from me. Now all places have issues and some of these are not unique to Star. First, Cinemark, and thus CUT, has the best rewards program AND, for rewards members they waive the fee when you buy online and ahead of time. . . Star doesn't, Cinepolis doesn't and neither does Reel, and this is a travesty since I'm doing them as much a favor as I am myself. But they tack an extra $2 per ticket. Adds up! Food wise, Reel takes the cake with Star coming in last. Nothing special with their food and borderline mediocre. Example. . . Chicken and waffles. . . Cold, dry waffle with chicken fingers . . . Pizza, one of the worst I've maybe ever had, similar to the old school chef boyardee pizza. And popcorn . . . If you must, get the medium. The large is a few extra kernels . . . And then no refills??? App wise or even online for that matter, Cinemark kicks the others rear but I guess being corporate that's why. Stars inability to offer refunds or any changes online is what created their theft, which again I realize is a personal thing. But they were supposed to refund my purchase so I could get new tickets. I did this at the movie and the kid did it, threw all the "evidence" away and assured me it was done. . My fault for trust . . . Absolutely, but goodbye. read more

This place is very clean and welcoming when you come inside. The staff was very accommodating the only issue I had was the two tickets that were bought had to checked in together. The seats are very uncomfortable and to close to other people. The waiters don't seem to very attentive with food as a $20 pizza that my friend ordered fell on the floor after they had set it on the side of the table. Even though we had asked them to wait so we could accommodate space for the small table. The waiter did not wait and the whole pizza flipped over. I'm thankful that we were able to get a new one and get it comped. I'm just very disappointed that I spent half of the movie cleaning up the pizza after... 1) asking for help from staff with no help 2) having to track down the waiter to get a new pizza. 3) all of this took 30-40 minutes and I missed a large part of the movie. read more

I believe the customer should decide what the attendant should receive based on there work. Especially if the waiter wasn't that great and missed to items we had ordered and received late. Nice updated cinema. Food was OK. I had the Sangria - it was delicious but very small for the price of the drink. Our server acted as if she was annoyed to be helping us and taking our order. Took probably 20 minutes or more for her to arrive after we pressed our button. They didn't come take our order until just before the movie was to start. Food took at least 45 minutes to an hour from the time we ordered to when it was delivered. Seats are spacious. I would come again. Beautiful inside. Love the entrance and the decor inside. The seats are so big and comfy. The table slides in and out for more room too. Lots of walk way space. The food was very good, but the service that day was not good for us. We got there 15 minutes before the preview and orders right away. People who ordered after us, were getting their food. We asked about it, and they said they were backed up, but that still doesn't explain why people that were there after us, received their food before us. I mean we even gave it like 30 minutes after we saw so many people getting their food. We were about 30 or 40 minutes into the movie, and still nothing. We finally got our food about an hour into the movie. Seriously!... The pretzel we kept asking about, literally never came. We gave up on it. I would like to come back and try this place again, because we did enjoy the seating and the theater. But I really hope the device is way better, otherwise that will probably be my last. read more

I must say Star Cinema has truly changed my perspective of movie theaters, and they have definitely heightened the competition. Their newly designed decor creates an intimate setting where it feels like you've just walked into someone's high end theater room! I love how there's a lounge and bar area as well. We've tried their wings, fries and several drinks and all are delish. LOVE the plush lounge recliners and the fact they have premium seats that offer blankets and are heated. The bun for the hotdog drastically outsized the dog but the flavor and toppings were good. Okay last time I visited this location...it was not so great, but let me tell you this time it was just awful and I will not patronize this location again. Went here with a friend to see this Christmas' blockbuster release of The Color Purple! The movie was simply fantastic. The songs were great and the reimagined version was entertaining. The movie started at 7:30 and after selecting our items from the menu we waited almost 20 minutes before someone came to take our order, by this time the movie was beginning. It seems as though it took forever for us to receive our food, at least another 20-30 minutes, but the drinks came out right away and the first round was good. The second round of drinks ordered not so good and they didn't get the order correct. I'm not sure if this location needs more staff or better systems but overall I can't recommend this location for their service and it saddens me because it's in a nice location and the general atmosphere is pleasing. I wish you guys the best and hopefully you'll improve your customer service quickly! This is imperative to keeping a loyal customer base. You never fall short is actually showing the movies; you just do a lousy job at the part that should draw your customers into loyal customers. For what you offer you can get at any movie location...that's a MOVIE! Also check your tab they ran my card twice; luckily I have notifications to alert me when my card is or has been charged. The young man was very nice and he mentioned that I was so nice and others had been very disgruntled, so apparently this happened a lot today. Get your people some help to help yourselves! read more

Best Tuesday date night in the area. No kids. No mess. No noise. Comfy seats that have not been abused by the mobs of movie goers who can sometimes not take care of nice things. I would also recommend this theatre for other nights of the week especially since it's pricey enough to keep it more of an adult atmosphere. The drinks are good. The popcorn is okay - not Texas sized, but an actual appropriate serving size. We've ordered food a couple times - that was pretty good too. But I don't want to rave about it too much because it's a pretty well kept secret so far (hence 4.5 not 5 stars). So shhh! Only share with your good friends. read more

Regular customer, love the place it is very nice. The theatre itself is very comfy & cozy but as of lately the service hasn't been great. I guess they have those who take your order and waiters who only bring out the food. Last few times the waiters have had attitude if anything other than thank you is said when they bring your food. Today I got there at 9:45ish put my order in and was still waiting for my drinks at 10:30.. waiter brought my food I mentioned still waiting on my drinks and he responded with "talk to the other waiter". After pressing the service button many times, I finally got my drinks about fifteen minutes before the movie ended. I am never ceased to be amazed by the mediocre customer service that exists in places. We decided to go see a movie and instead of visiting Regal which is closer to home, we decided to go to Star Cinema Grill. I've heard great things about this theater so I was excited to give it a try. Reclining seats and not having to leave your seat for service sounds like a win to me.....well I was in for a rude awakening. Upon arriving at the theater we had to wait outside of the actual theater, I'm assuming it was for them to clean the theater, however I want to mention that it was past the time that the movie was supposed to start. They never said anything once they were done so we just went in because we could hear that the movie (previews) started. So we sat down and waited for the waiter to come and take our order. We ordered a margarita and a large popcorn. It took about 20 minutes to get the margarita and 45 minutes to get the popcorn. We were told that the kitchen was backed up when we asked about the status of our popcorn. We finally got our popcorn and it wasn't warm and didn't taste fresh but it was edible. When we requested a refill, after 20 minutes we never got the refill but for the bill instead. When we asked about the refill we were reminded of how backed up the kitchen was. Needless to say upon leaving we asked to speak to the manager and sadly we weren't the only ones who had a disappointing experience. The manager was apologetic and stated that they weren't prepared for the turn out for National Cinema Day. It's a National Cinema Day on a Saturday how could you not be prepared? My husband loves movies and part of the movie theater experience is the popcorn, we don't get a chance to enjoy the movie theater often so we were looking forward to this trip, and I have to say that this visit was a disappointment. Stay away. Definitely not supportive or medical conditions. Had to fast with specific drinking requirements. Brought in a clear 1 liter bottle with purified water and specific medication added. The lady at the front said no outside food or drink. I expressed the challenge, she called the manager and he did not care at all. He said rules are rules and told me to go leave it in the car or I can not enter. They offered to give me my money back, which I gladly accepted. Personally I think the manager is just a hateful person and probably hates the world as his lack or care, concern or regard was obvious. I have attended this theater so many times in the past with family and friends, we brought in water before and it was never an issue, but we will not go back again. What kind of a company or person for that matter would not support medical issues is beyond me. Ridiculous, just stay away from them, clearly not an understanding, open, accepting or friendly environment! do not eat food here. go eat somewhere else after the movie. decent experience overall but the food sucks. 75 dollars for 2 burgers, 2 cokes and some bland,tasteless appetizer called the three amigos. i feel very ripped off by the poor quality of the food. it was sub par high school cafeteria/gas station food that they describe in colorful ways on the menu. the burgers sucked. the appetizer sucked. the pickles were inedible.
