After calling several businesses with none ready to make an appointment for me with a clogged kitchen sink I felt trapped as I could not function in a kitchen without a useable sink. I was on a "waiting list" with one place when I noticed a Star City Plumbing truck across the street from my house. I went over and spoke with the plumber and he suggested that I call his office (which I did) and the next morning Kevin and Ryan came ready, willing and able to unclog the nasty problem. Once again, I highly recommend Star City for excellent work at an excellent price. I recently was yellow-tagged by the water authority for high water usage. Within a day- at Christmas- Star City came and diagnosed the problem. Two days later (in-between day was Christmas) the problem was fixed. And the charges were significantly less than I expected. The two technicians were prompt, professional and courteous. Office staff is also top-notch, always compassionate, courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!! read more

As a vet I like to try and support local veteran owned businesses when I can. I had previously highly recommended Star City Plumbing.... As you will see from my initial post on them--I used Star City Plumbing two years ago and they were fantastic and I highly recommended them But now, it seems they focus on their commercial customers to the detriment of residential customers. Thankfully everyone is still polite and courteous. I used them for two different jobs recently and both times my job was put on hold for their commercial customers. I took off from work three times over three and a half weeks for repair of an underground waterline... I was still losing water with inside cutoff turned off. It was during a cold snap and they said they had commercial customers in Florida and training they need to get done before my job... but they would schedule a time and then either cancel 1/2hr after appointment time or call same day a couple of hours before appointment to cancel. Almost a month later and three days off work before fixed. Crew was again polite and courteous. During that time I had a small leak in shower where shower head was dripping. They said they could fix when they came out to fix underground leak but that took for ever (as noted above). The plumber suggested I buy a new shower head and mixer valve combo Mohen to replace my Koehler and said it should only be an hour, maybe two max to install. Fast forward another three and a half weeks, four more work days off, five visits to house where plumber was again called away to service commercial customers twice within thirty minutes. I got billed over $665, with $190 for parts included, on top off the $200 I had spend on new shower head and faucet. Again, the plumber was polite and courteous. Now I understand sewage backs and toilets overflowing should be dealt with as a priority but should the residential customer get shafted with a near $700 bill to install a shower. They did install ball cutoff valves for the shower supply--which I did not ask for but they needed as they kept coming out and getting called away without being able to fix it and I would have to keep cutting off the water for the whole house. I can NO longer recommend Star City Plumbing. They are polite and courteous but they are no longer interested in providing a good or fair customer experience. One star for answering my phone calls and one star for being courteous and polite. read more

So first off when I call and I have to ask your business name! Second of all when you come to my home 45 minutes charge me $450 to tell me you can't fix the issue, then need to follow me to the atm because you didn't tell me you needed cash upfront. (Unprofessional by the way) tell me it's going to cost an additional $7,850 for you to tear up my yard. Just for another plumber to come in clean up your mess on brand new bathroom walls BTW, that I have to repaint now THANKS for that. ANDDDD fix my issue by a snake alone. Without tearing up my yard. Y'all walked in assuming we had a boat load of cash because we are in a nicer home. We lost our house in a fire a year ago and insurance rebuilt it. Maybe quit if you're gonna do people dirty I'll never recommend you to anyone. Also we have contacts to establish commercial business that the other plumber who did the job you couldn't just received so it brings me joy to know you just lost THOUSANDS of dollars be careful who you try to rip off. read more

Called at 8 am, was told they would be out late afternoon. They called and showed up by 11:30. Pumped the septic tank. Told Darin about the issues we were having about our drains/plumbing and he said he could have another guy out to snake the line in 1-2 hours. Next guy showed up within an hour. He snaked the line, asked me to run water and fixed the issue! Local and family owned! Fairly priced and very professional! 10/10 would recommend! We plan to stay a customer for all of our plumbing needs! read more

They were here right away and I was happy with that. The drain stopper was not doing it's job. They fixed it. So far so good.

Costly quote, plenty of places in town that do not charge just to look at the job. They will just hang up on you, very rude.

Total garbage! Came and did exactly what I, someone who isn't a plumber, suggested should be done but didn't even attempt to problem solve the issue I was having. The work was shoddy at best. Then we I complained and ask for someone else, they made excuse after excuse as to why it wasn't done right the first time. I never once got an apology or any sense of understanding as to why I was upset. This company is run by a bunch of losers who drive around in work vans pretending to be plumbers. read more

Very disappointed! I had them come out to unclog a drain when I washed a load of clothes that afternoon the problem was not fixed so I called the next day to let them know they did not fix the problem, so they came out the next week when my next day off was scheduled and they charged me again over 600. I do not recommend this company. read more

We had a need for them to come out as quick as possible. Called them at 1030 and the job was done by 330 that day. I cannot say enough good about these guys and their professionalism. They helped out this battered Disabled Vet and his Veteran wife when we needed it most. And the cost to do that job was extremely fair as well. I will not recommend anyone else ever. My mother has been dealing with a plumbing issue at her apartment in Vinton, and star city where the plumber said they called out there. Mathew M. was called out, and stayed for 4-5 hours until problem was taken care of ( the landlord needs to replace pipes completely, but refuse to. )So, Mathew was thorough,considerate, and so respectful while working non-stop for almost 5 hours. He was BY FAR the best plumber I've EVER had in my 43 yrs on this planet. Thanks Star City and Matthew for such a great experience in an unpleasant time. read more

I've used them and recommend them several times and was very pleased. However, my mom used them to fix a toilet and they did. The next day the toilet stopped working again. When she contacted them to let them know it was not working again, attitudes with this business changed very quickly and went from good to very poor. She has been without a toilet for over a week. No one could tell her what day they could come back, nor did they seem interested or care about helping or fixing the problem as she never received a call back. I called them myself to find out what was going on and received the same lack of interest in helping. All they wanted to do was get off the phone talking to me. We are very disappointed in the lack concern and care they have for customers when the problem doesn't get fixed the first time. Businesses should remember the person answering the phone is a representation of the company. Update: After several days an employee made it to my moms house. Several issues were addressed and hopefully taken care of and the plumbing issues have been resolved. I hope every business understands customers are the reason you have a business. Customer care should be priority even if you are unable to help or fix the problem. I'm giving 3 stars as I believe no company is perfect and there is always room for improvement, especially with customer care. read more

These guys seem to be the most fairly priced folks out there. They listen to what the problems are and then fix them quickly and cleanly. They are my go-to from here on out. read more
