I made an appointment for my 84 year old aunt I thought I would surprise her with a pedicure. She had such a wonderful time and the gentlemen that did her pedicure was so kind. He helped me get her in the chair he was so compassionate. She left their feeling like she was walking on pillows all day long. She mentioned how nice her feet felt it was a great experience. The salon was very welcoming and very clean. I highly recommend it. We are definitely going back monthly. read more

These people are scammers!!!!! They told me $150 for 2 peoples manicures and a pedicure and then I checked my bank account after and they charged an extra $100!! I even tipped $20 and they charged my account $240 this is ridiculous. Not to mention they didn't do the design I wanted and literally did whatever they wanted and then they had the audacity to ask me if $20 was all that I was tipping. I believe they changed their name is Star Nails because Star Nails address is 854 Farmington Ave, Bristol CT. I went here for the first time today for a pedicure and gel manicure. This is my new favorite place!! The offer you water, soda or wine too! They also know all their clients by first name basis! Cindy did my manicure and Lili did my pedicure, bother we're amazing. The decor inside is gorgeous and everyone there is very nice. I called an hour ahead of time and they were able to get my in. It wasn't packed when I went in there which was nice, it was very relaxing with nice music playing. Although, I would recommend making an appointment because I believe the fill up quickly! Idk what everyone else is talking about. So happy I found them. Best pedicure I've had in a long long time. I was greeted with a warm welcome, didn't know if they'd take walk ins and they do! Nice music, idk what smelled so good, I was offered a drink and their massage chairs *Work* very well (unlike many places I've been to). The workers were cleaning since I arrived which I also loved. Pedicure was decent. "Manicure" was poor at best. The tech not only didn't honor my requests, she outright contradicted me: no shortening my nails' length, nor moderate thickness (for gel application), she just globbed it on. The polish (French style) was simply not well done: white tips were uneven, clumpy, and way too thick... It looked like white-out in some places. Also, apparently a "full set" covers only the actual nails, if you want them to make the hands your nails are on look nice too you have to get a "manicure" separately. Maybe they were trying to rush me out since I was the last customer and they were closing. Should have known when I showed up for my appointment -yes, appointment- and I was the ONLY customer on a Friday evening. Meanwhile the rest of my bridal party was waiting in line at Fancy Nails across town... Oh, yes this was for my WEDDING! I could have (and in immediate hind-sight should have) ditched the appointment and crashed the line where I know they always do a great job, but I was stressed on time. Good thing I was focused on my groom and NOT my nails, but I'll never waste my money here again. Note: This experience was in July 2011, and I sat on this review's draft for over 3 months before submitting it. My feelings haven't changed. read more

worst place ever. Never mind the not speaking English thing, but so unprofessional. She did such a bad job I asked her to do it over. She ends up just putting more polish on I got so upset I got up from the chair and left. I told her I work hard for my money she apparently does not. She was also very ruff, I went there to relax and feel good and came out feeling worst then I went in and less 28 bucks out of my pocket. For nothing, worthless unsatisfactory unprofessional workmanship. She told me it was because my toes were too small. If I can give them a lower than a one star I would. Worse place I've done my nails. She rushed me when picking a color she stated that she wanted to go home. They gave me 4 different prices and all over charging me until I took out my phone calculator and added it up on my own, so be aware. Also an older lady walked in after I have been seated and made a huge scene of how bad they were and how they did not know how to be a decent nail salon. I should have known then. After when they applied the gel color over my nails she did them horrible that I had to go back to re do them because they rushed me out of the store and it was sonly 6:15pm when the business cards all say open until 8pm. My family always goes here and loves it so I've been with them and swore I wouldn't go back But recently needed my nails done and was in that area and it was a year since I've been so I decided to try them again. Bad mistake Went in with a friend they kept pressuring me and HIM to get every service And when we would decline they would very obviously talk about us in another langue They try to be friendly when you come in and I'm sure continue to stay friendly if you get everything you can get there done My nail tech did not want to do anything I wanted done. She kept saying it would look ugly and just wouldn't do it She didn't my eyebrows which did come out awesome hence the two stars or I would have left one because I felt so uncomfortable not being able to afford everything they wanted me to do Ended up my nails looking very thick, not what I wanted, unwelcomed. But my family absolutely lovessssss it there, must be something I missing though. read more

My sister and I went in on a Saturday afternoon, only because every other place around town had a wait. They took us right away which was perfect and our thinking was, they only needed to look nice for the day. We got exactly what we hoped. The gel manicure lasted, at best, a week which started chipping and peeling that week. The french tips were also crooked. The pedicure was decent and i can't really complain about the service. We were the only two people in the salon when we were being helped so they were very nice. Wish the nails lasted longer! I would only recommend them if you didn't care how long the nails looked good and lasted. read more

This place is downright horrible. The woman who is known at this place to stand up and do 10 other things while she does your nails threw so many things at me when was trying to tell her what I wanted and wouldn't listen then charged me $50 for it. Which was acrylic over my natural nails with gel polish. The gel was put on so sloppy and she didn't even get rid all the old polish off first. The gel polish she put on was transparent in some spots and globed on in others. Some nails were round some were square. I went to my local salon 2 weeks later and they were disgusted at the job. NEVER go here, what a rip off. read more

I enjoyed my visits here. the new techs and Kim do a good job taking care of my nails. Sometimes the place is busy n they are a bit rushed but I don't think they r meant to do a bad job taking care of my nails. They try to do/fix to ensure customers leaving happy. Some techs r not so good at english so the way they try to express themselves clearly might make customers feel opposite way. But I give them credits for trying. Give them a try! yu never know until yu try yurself! they are friendly people I would recommend it. read more
