I would have given them 5-stars but I had to knock off a few stars due to sanitation or lack thereof. I received a regular polish pedicure with gel removal and manicure with just a buffing. My total was $53.00. Lan was my nail technician. She did a good job with both the Mani and Pedi. However, when I was seated, she prepped me for gel removal on my toes. Then slid over to the client next to me and finished her gel pedicure without washing her hands. After finishing her Pedi she slid back over to me and proceeded to unwrap the foil until I stopped her and asked her to wash her hands. This lack of sanitation practices is very concerning. I have been coming to this place for a very long time and today I waited forever after they stuck me in the water. Once they get to me the lady is very ruff and very fast! I was getting my nails done too but I opted to pass and asked to pay. The only place I come to since I moved. When I lived in BR I thought it was gonna be hard to find a nail place that did as good as my girls before at my previous shop. Well luckily after the first visit to this place when I moved, I knew I found my new nail plugs. The staff is friendly and they remember you when you come in often. The lady who does my eyebrows does them just as good as my past eyebrow lady which is hard bc some people have seriously jacked me up. Star Nails is the best salon in Prairieville. I've tried several salons in Baton Rouge close to my work but have always been disappointed. I always come back to Star Nails. The salon and stations are clean. Nail technicians are well trained and professionals. They do provide nail art but call to make sure the artist is available before you come. There's a slight discount if you have cash payments. Prices are comparable to other surrounding salons. Went back to this place because I was in desperate need of a pedicure and dip set since my new favorite spot "Magic Nails" were closed due to damage from the hurricane and other places were either packed or were taking appointments for later this month (I also saw people praising this place in a group so figured they changed). Worst decision ever!! Now I won't lie, it started off good with the pedicure however when it was time for mg nails that deescalated quickly... first she complained that my nails were too long and tried to encourage me to cut them... NO! Then when asked that I keep my coffin shape she did it soooo wrong another worker had to come & reshape them. Finally done and in love with the color and shape, I leave and realized some nails were faded because she failed to apply the coat on the full nail and they were very thin. I decided to not worry about it because I had a conference call and would just apply a gel coating on top and dry it under the dryer at home. WELL, one day later to be exact my thumb nail cracked from me typing (that never happens)... 2 days following that another nail broke!!! 2 nails in a matter of a few days after paying $96 for pedi, dip and eyebrow wax.... Why get an eyebrow wax from there you ask?? Well again, desperate because being in the house for days with no electricity made me want to get the normal treatment I felt I deserved after the hurricane. NEVER AGAIN!! My left brow was over waxed and ended up front thinner than the other!!!! TERRIBLE! Save yourself the distraught and try another place. I said it once, and will say it again and mean it this time.... Ask for Jennifer! She is meticulous, hygienic, polite, and interested in the health of her customer's nails. She didn't use a drill on my natural nails, which was a plus. She used my tools that I brought, (except for the buffer block which she felt was too rough to use on my nails). She didn't mind me asking for a new buffer block, and when I went back minutes after Ieaving when I noticed scratches on one of my nails, she fixed it quickly, thus perfecting my manicure. I went here to get gel extension removal and dip nails. In the process I was cut by the drill FIVE times on my fingers--and the dip is too thick on one hand compared to the other. I wish I discovered this place sooner! It's so cute inside and has an actual bar! I'm not sure how that works but it's definitely unique. The inside is dimly lit and has a more relaxing vibe more akin to a massage parlor than the nail salons I'm used to. I got a polish change and the lady that did my nails did an amazing job! It was perfection and dried without any issues. My nails have not chipped at the tips and it's been nearly TWO WEEKS! The only reason you can tell it's an old paint job is because my nails are growing out at the base, other than that it looks pretty amazing for not being gel!. I'm sad they are not busier than they are because they are very attentive and efficient. Prices were standard, my polish change was $8 which is pretty reasonable. read more

For convenience this place is great! Their prices are about average and you do get a discount for playing in cash. The artificial nails came out well, and lasted! The only beef I can come up with is they don't tell you the wait time when you get there. And when you ask they say 5 minutes each time so you have to pester them a bit... but they did a great kiddie manicure on my child and French tip acrylic nails for me. I'll be back! read more

Great service for a great price. It was pretty quiet but got busier toward the end of my service. I had a dip powder manicure ($40) and a regular pedicure ($30). The staff was very nice!! They helped me pick out a pretty purple for my toes (not my go to color!!!) and it turned out great! Everyone here was nice but since getting my full set, all of my nails have broken. Four of them broke just days after getting them done. I went in to have them fixed and days after that the others broke. They aren't especially long and I've had acrylics for years so I guess they just do them too thin or maybe it's the acrylic they use. Bummer. read more

Terrible job. A friend and I went. The girl rushed through my pedicure. 3 toes were messed up. She tried to fix them, got frustrated and left them. I had nail polish all around and print marks from my other toes bc they didn't separate them until after painting them. I wanted to get shellac nails done but I was so frustrated I just told them to take off the current shellac so I can get them done elsewhere. She scraped my nails and destroyed them.
