Bought a 6' desert willow bush for $195 plus fertilizer and soil. The bushes had no blossoms when we got it home and planted it 2 days later. Two weeks now and it's greening out beautifully. It's hard to grow anything because we don't get as much rain as Kingman so hopefully this will be a success. I will be stopping in to ask questions about future watering. read more

I find it absolutely amazing that this is the only company I've come across that cannot deliver to me. And now I actually have an address and they still can't deliver to me. It's not like I'm buying three plants. I want to buy truckloads of dirt gravel, at least two pallets of pavers 25 separate trees amongst other things. And they're telling me they can't find my address to deliver to me when I can give them the exact way to get to me Home Depot delivers to me. My water gets to me UPS gets to me FedEx gets to me but they can't manage to deliver thousands and thousands of dollars worth of product to me. This is a horrible company. On top of that I have been to them several times and several people have told me that all I had to do was having an address now I have come here I have shopped and now I've been told that they can't deliver to me so I've wasted my time multiple times this is infuriating. The lack of customer service is unbelievable not only that when I come here they act as if I'm bothering them on top of that horrible horrible service. If I had the ability I would open my own store think I'm not thinking about it. read more

Their "Super Soil" is NOT soil. It is sand plus just enough compost to fake you out. I was given a $300 gift certificate for my birthday to STAR NURSERY to buy soil for my 12x40 greenhouse. The "soil" I purchased was horribly sandy and rocky. Almost zero organic matter. And even worse than that it was filled with plastic particles - large pieces of chunky plastics which I tediously picked out as I added it to my raised beds. My seeds sprouted, but then all of my plants turned yellow and died. The only thing that survived was the grass that sprouted from their "soil." I live 2.5 hours from a grocery store and I depend on my garden for food. I complained to the manager and they gave me extra compost to add to the soil. I have tried amending the beds and transplanting the few surviving plants but things are not looking good. Sand plus more compost still does not equal soil. Now I have no viable garden and I am stuck with literally tons of useless, awful, sandy compost mix. Also, I shoveled that three cubic yards into my greenhouse myself! It took me days. That much labor for a useless product makes me want to cry. read more

Our first year here we decided to do some landscaping. Went to Star and spent over $1000 on plants and shrubs. Of some of the plants we purchased were 14 oleanders. Of the 14, 5 of them died. We went back to the nursery and were told we were past the 30 days. Really!! We came from a state (MN) that guarantees your plants for one year. I guess they just don't have much assurance on the quality of plants they sell. read more

We also got our Decorative gravel and bark from them very good quality and they give out free ladybugs in the Spring time. Called in today to get a quote for a 13-yard truck of gravel. The guy who answered the phone was doing everything he could to NOT get me to order it -Cant take payment over the phone (I did not ask about that) -They do not have a driver and cannot pin point a date (I did not ask about that) -I did ask to send me a photo of the new color they have since they don't carry my original color anymore-He did not know if he could, so he covered the phone to ask a woman in the background-she laughed so loud, I couldn't even hear her answer. I bought an Italian cypress tree about 6 ft tall. When I got home I was getting ready to plant so I took the big stake out and the tree bent over so I called the store and was told I could not return the badly bent tree. They don't stand behind their products just take the money. They used to be better but now buyer beware. read more

I have been trying to get 4 yards of 3/8 pea gravel for 2 weeks. I was told by manager Destiny that it was first come first serve. Today I called and they said we have gravel. I picked my load up and called to see if they had more and a man said come on down, I drove 15 miles with trailer and the Manager started raising her voice that I can not have any more, so much for first come first serve. While be yelled at telling me I can't have anymore rock she got on the radio intercoms I told everybody in the store I was 86 from coming to this store. I guess she has a contractor friend getting special treatment. Saving rock for them, so much for first come first serve. I will be notifying corporate headquarters. I have been buying from this store for 8 years. I guess I will be going to Bullhead store which has much better customer service read more

I ordered 17 yards of rock to be delivered in my back yard and unfortunately, the driver scraped my brick wall and ripped my back gate off after dumping the 2nd load of rock. The damage also includes movement of the back wall. He was very apologetic, took photos and sent to his corporate office. I won't bore you with the details or time wasted trying to get a response from corporate but when I did get a response, it was from their , legal counsel who informed me that they would NOT be paying for the damage. Their counsel gleefully pointed out to me a statement buried in a paragraph at the bottom of my receipt, holding themself harmless from any personal injury or property damage during the delivery of product. I am attaching a copy of my receipt where under my signature in all capital letters, it states that any damage and/or shortages must be reported within 24 hours. Below that Read number two, where they hold themselves harmless for any personal injury or property damage resulting from the delivery. Their counsel told me that that is why I have homeowners insurance. The damage incurred was caused by the driver, but I am expected to pay for it. I will never use or recommend Star Nursery to anyone. I asked to speak to the owner of the company and the claims administrator laughed at me and stated "Well That's not gonna happen." I have emailed the owner of the company twice with no response. I caution anyone who is having product delivered to carefully read your receipt and be prepared to be responsible for any and all damaged caused by the Star Nursery employee during delivery. read more

So we want to create a flower bed which will be in close proximity to an existing flower bed. Before I continue its worthy noting prior to my visit to Star Nursery Kingman and meeting Associate "John" I'd had very little prior knowledge about what was needed to irrigate the new flower bed. It turned out as I was unsure what size flexible tubing was existing and sizing had to be matched. So, it was a trip back home to fetch a section of existing flexible tubing. On my return trip I met Associate "Destiny" who patiently reviewed the parts required while explaining how to use them. When I left the store I felt confident with my new found knowledge base to successfully complete the project. So, "thank you" John and Destiny for so willingly making yourselves available and responsive to my many questions and concerns and helping me overcome my limited preparedness. With components in tow returned home to wait for more accommodating weather to begin the Project. Truly an incredibly enjoyable experience. After reading, so many negative reviews, I decided to go in and see for myself. When I entered, I was greeted with a smile and may I help you. Angie looked in the computer to see if there was a certain peach tree available but was sold out. She helped me with the wood chips that we got all with a smile. After buying 10 bags of wood chips while bringing I returned the cart and again Angie, with a smile said she would return the cart for me. She opened the door for me to leave, and I thanked her. Ordered decorative rock for yard charged $75.00 to deliver 4 blocks was told it would be delivered today Thursday, September 29, 2022. Went at 2:00 pm and was told the driver would call when they were in route to deliver. No phone call no delivery. The Rock was ordered on Sunday, September 25, 2022. There is no excuse for the lack of customer service received by the employee today and the blatant neglect to contact me regarding the delivery! Will think twice about using them again that's for sure and to have to postpone the people who were coming to help spread the rock. Way to go Star Nursery way to go! October, 2022. Star Nursery in Kingman used to be friendly and better than it is now. The front desk was always very slow, but at least when it came to ordering dump-truck-loads of stone or gravel, you got friendly delivery. Not anymore. We had many loads of crushed stone etc. delivered over the years, but this time, from the minute we started to talk about what we wanted, the driver was whining. "Driving is rough on my truck! I don't even want to do it." Then, he wanted $200 per truckload, up from $80 a year ago. The only thing that finally shut him up was when we said, "That's really poor customer service! We'll take our business elsewhere." We found a different gravel lot where they were friendly, happy to quote on what we wanted -- and bottom line -- the cost for crushed stone + riprap + delivery included extra yards of stone in a bigger truck, at half the cost. I really like their selection in out side plants but they need a bigger selection for indoor ! I bought 3 trees and a rose Bush for our home, the apple tree I pick out was in the wrong location i wanted honey crisp , pick the tree out from the area that said honey crisp , on further inspection I found out it was the yellow apples :( called and asked to return it and get the honey crisp the ladie on the phone was very rude because I had lost the recipe but I still had the bucket it came in, i had to go to the shop and they reluctantly took the tree and they had no honey crisp available so they wrote on my recipe that I could come back in was not a pleasant experience at all read more
