I love coming here to get inspiration. Everyone is helpful and knowledgeable. I have zero green thumb and rely on pretty picture to show the staff what I envisioned. There were so many choices and information on tags of what happens to the shrubs in winter and type of food. Great prices and there are frequently sales to find a good deal.

This place always has such a wide selection. I order five tons of rocks for my backyard and the price with delivery was fantastic. The staff is polite and give great advice on all of the products

04/06/24 Decided to get some fresh herbs: basil, coriander , mint , and parsley to plant in our plant box. Got some morning glory bush as well for our garden. Service is pretty good so far whenever we come here. As for their value , plants are pretty reasonable in price. Happy planting!!

Absolutely incredible service and selection of plants! James went above and beyond for me! I don't have a green thumb but wanted a really thoughtful gift for a client of mine that loves plants. I wanted something low maintenance and beautiful. James answered all my questions about the Spanish Yucca plant I had my eyes on and was so friendly. Luke helped me put the plant in my car. Even on an extremely busy Spring day, I felt very taken care of. I'll be back!

Bought sod here. Was told by the lady at checkout that we can just place it on the ground as long as we keep it wet. It slowly weltered away being completely dead within two weeks although I followed her casual instructions. Further, bought a hot lips autumn sage plant that was infested with bugs, and an Austrian racer plant that died immediately also. Maybe I'm not a plant person? I don't know, but was very disappointed with the service and nothing survived.

My last haul included some pothos, brazillian heartleaf, mica

This location has a good selection of plants and supplies. I've come here several times to items needed for my soil mix.

Ask the Community - Star Nursery

Hi, do you sell bamboo plants or cypress trees? Looking to create privacy in my back yard.

Star does sell heavily bamboo and golden bamboo . Along with Italian cypress.

How much is Sod? This would be for self pickup. Not delivery.

It's 49 cents per sqft. They sell it by 5 sqft sheets which is roughly about 2.49.

How much is tree delivery and install?

Thank you for your inquiry, we do not do installations, and for detailed delivery information, please contact the store directly. Much appreciation,…

I'm trying to keep a tomato tree alive (received as a present) but it's getting worse everyday...could i bring it in and get suggestions?

You can bring it in depending on the size, and if you do look for Mary she is fantastic! But just remember anytime you transplant a tree especially when it's not strong you make it that much harder to keep alive

Terrible experience…read more Last April, we purchased four King Palms and one Strawberry Tree from Moon Valley. Before buying, we specifically asked multiple employees whether the Strawberry Tree would do well in our climate. We were assured not once, but twice, that it would thrive here. One salesperson even told us they had tested Strawberry Trees specifically in our desert climate and confirmed they were heat tolerant. We chose not to use Moon Valley's planting service because we already have a professional landscaping crew that handles our projects. This wasn't our first time planting trees in the desert. We followed all of Moon Valley's instructions, including the watering guidelines provided in their pamphlet, and used the recommended soil conditioner and Moon Juice at planting. For the first month, the tree appeared healthy. Then summer arrived. Almost immediately, the leaves began drooping. We increased hand watering and contacted our salesperson. We sent photos of the tree, our irrigation setup, the dripper output, and our watering schedule. He confirmed that the tree was receiving adequate water but suggested additional hand watering, and another application of Moon Juice because the tree appeared stressed. We followed every recommendation. The tree briefly showed signs of life with a few small leaves emerging near the base, but for the remainder of the summer it looked like a Charlie Brown tree, barely hanging on. When temperatures cooled, we pruned the dead branches in hopes of encouraging new growth. A few leaves emerged on one side, but the tree never recovered. We later had an arborist on our property to thin our sumac tree, and he told us he doubted the Strawberry Tree would survive the winter. Surprisingly, it did survive the winter, although it looked weak and unhealthy. Now that the heat has returned, it is dying all over again and appears to be beyond saving. What's especially frustrating is that the two King Palms visible in the background of the photos were purchased from Moon Valley at the same time and planted by the same landscaping crew. They are healthy, thriving, and proving that the planting and watering methods were not the issue. The reality is that Strawberry Trees simply do not appear to handle our extreme desert heat nearly as well as we were led to believe. In speaking with someone on Nextdoor, I discovered they experienced the exact same issue with a newly planted Strawberry Tree purchased from Moon Valley. The difference is that Moon Valley planted theirs, so it was replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, because we chose not to use Moon Valley's expensive planting service, we are out approximately $650 on a tree that was recommended to us as being well-suited for our climate. In my opinion, Moon Valley is very eager to sell high-priced trees, but when a product fails despite the customer following their instructions, they do not stand behind it unless you also paid for their planting service. I truly do not believe having them plant this tree would have changed the outcome. Needless to say, we will not be purchasing from Moon Valley again.

Reviews are changing because the experiences change, hence, my review updates…read more Our water heater broke on tuesday night. Hubby made a bunch of calls, but received inaccurate information from Rheem (spoke to three different CSR's- two were good, one was passing along the wrong information!). Apparently, the six year warranty only exists if you use the original installer- that was the final thing we learned, from the 3rd Rheem CSR. We purchased our home in 2021, but the water heater was purchased by the previous owner in 2020. Warranties on Rheem water heaters do not transfer over. So, this is a Consumer Buyer Beware warning, to you all. It is so important to know the Warranty on everything that you buy nowadays due to Inflation and Tarriffs (recently ruled "illegal" by a Federal Judge). Hubby and our Plumber unhooked the broken unit to turn it into the Flamingo/Fort Apache one, however, it turned out to be the wrong location, Pro Desk; instead got referred to the one across from Springs Preserve, which closed at 5 pm (across town, not in the same neighborhood, BTW). Hubby calls that one, the following day, thursday, they say, "We do not deal with Residential, only Commercial." It is a good thing he called before actually just heading over there, only to waste more time. And finally, hubby called Rheem a third time. This was extremely frustrating. The difference in customer service is good information versus bad information. This is the purpose of reviews to outline the good, the bad, & the ugly. And it gives companies a chance to improve. So, we had to purchase a new one, but the Flamingo/Fort Apache one didn't have the one that we needed, in stock. So hubby and our Plumber came to this location, The Arroyo Market Square location- Rainbow/ 215. And this one had it in stock. $1483 for a new Rheem water heater. Thursday morning we had hot water again. But, man, what a run-around this was, for hubby and our Plumber. Our licensed contractor handyman is the best! Four separate reviews were written on this experience.

They're going to be there for 8 hours anyway, so what do they care if you rent something or not? Especially Miguel, man he's the worst.
