First off, the coffee tasted worse than Folgers so I wouldn't return just because of that. Second, they will overcharge you and you'll pay a ridiculous amount just for some awful coffee. Yes, the menu says "these are cash prices" but I wasn't even asked if I wanted to pay cash. I was just told the price so I handed over my credit card. But, even if the non-cash prices is higher, I have never in my life seen an establishment charge double. Never returning! read more

Came to Battle Born Coffee 12/6/23 not knowing anything about them as I headed back to South Carolina . I needed a pick me up drink and I just happened to stumble across a good cup of coffee and a great barista. There was so much on the menu I was stumped on what to order . I asked what had coconut and she listed them for me . Ended up getting the Maui and Oh Snap was it good . Also got the little mini donuts (let her pick for me) , some of the best cake doughnuts ever . After having amazing service, a great conversation , good coffee and a good little cheat snack I have found a good place to stop on my trips across the country . Battle Born Coffee Shop is a cute little convenient stop located right as you pass thru the small town of Winnemucca. While I thought it's food menu was limited, I want to give major props to their owner for the extensive list of created drinks dubbed "The Originals" featuring cleverly named caffeinated concoctions. There is so much to choose from! See menu picture. My pick me up was the Winnemocha (dark chocolate, amaretto and almond flavoring). If you like Almond Joys or Mounds, this is the drink for you! I ordered mine nonfat and it still tasted amazing! I loved the combination of the dark chocolate and amaretto, it was perfectly sweet! For breakfast my husband and I both snagged some breakfast burritos. WOW!!! First off, these burritos are definitely made in house and fresh! The cheese that was used was soooo good, it tasted like the creamy nacho cheese from Tostitos. I honestly didn't need the drops of Tapatio but I'm not going to ignore hot sauce when it's there. It made the burrito so good! And it was nice and HOT!!! Hubby and I both agreed our burritos hit the dang spot. I would 10/10 recommend Battle Born Coffee and stop by a second time if I ever find myself around town again!!! read more

We swung by Battle Born Coffee Shop in Winnemucca on our way out of town for a quick breakfast, and it was just what we needed! We ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches, which were really good--though a bit on the messy side (in the best way!) thanks to all the melty cheese. The cold brew was solid, and the service was fast and friendly. They've got a drive-through if you're in a rush, but we walked in and still got our order quickly. We also grabbed a couple of sweet treats to go. The donuts were delicious, but the mini cinnamon rolls were unfortunately too dry to eat. Stick to the donuts, and you'll be happy! All in all, a great stop if you're looking for good coffee and a tasty breakfast to kick off your day! read more

Hard to miss when not from the area as the sign is pretty small, but once inside it's super cute. Talk about a hard working lady behind the counter. She was husling between the drive thru window and those of us inside. I loved that I could start with half flavor and after trying it, if I needed more she would add the additional pumps. I ordered a vanilla lavender latte at half sweetness. I wasn't initially able to taste the lavender so I had her add 2 more pumps bringing it just to my liking. My only real issue was the menu was extremely hard to read. Print is small and lots of drink options on there. For someone with good vision, it was straining on the eyes. I was planning to try a specialty drink, but not being about to read the details under the drink as to what it included was a turn off. Also, I asked for a paper menu or any other place to read it, and it wasn't available. Good little spot. Very good drinks. Fantastic service. read more

Traveling through Winnemucca I did not expect such a cute coffee shop, but it definitely exists! Great customer service, very clean, with a chill cozy vibe. While planning on getting a coffee or tea, I found something called a Lotus Drink. Apparently it's a natural, plant-based energy source. It's basically a homemade soda with energy. They have a whole menu of delicious Lotus Drink options. Truthfully, I can't remember which one I got, but I think it involved watermelon, and I loved it. The staff was so friendly and helpful in explaining everything and giving me options. They also had tasty looking pastries, and these adorable little mini donuts that were the perfect sweet bite or two. Our drinks were ready pretty quickly and we set out on the road again, with a little boost. Now I want to stop at Battle Born Coffee Shop every time I drive through there. read more

They are steps from the cluster of hotels on the west end of town and also open at 5 am which was why I went there initially. What a Great find in the dark at 5:10am. I come through Winnemucca all the time going to Boise to see my family this time I spent the night. In the morning I found Battle Born Coffee. So good! I really like Espresso con Panna - and with 'bucks culture it can be hard to get. Even asking for a Macchiato and they want to make a huge sugar thing. I am very into talking to the barista and asking them to make what I'd like - and they were so cool here. She offered to remake them when my wife told her that the order wasn't right. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to wait so we left with the drinks she made. I'm not sure if the lady behind the counter was lost or just dazed for some reason but she seemed to have no clue what she was doing and couldn't answer simple questions. I was surprised at how nicely decorated and clean this place was (definitely something that stood out compared to other eateries in the town).
