This second visit was where everything went downhill. They first quoted me about $4,500 for the suspension job, and I told them to call if they found anything else. They called the same day to update the estimate to $6,000, which I approved. When I arrived to pick up my car that Friday, the total had somehow jumped to $8,200--an additional $2,200 of work that was never communicated or approved in advance. I was frustrated but paid the bill, assuming the work was at least done correctly. Less than five miles down the road, my check engine light came on. I took it back immediately, and they told me it was a "non-important system" and safe to drive for the weekend. When I got home, I checked under the hood myself and discovered that some components were left unplugged. After reconnecting them and clearing the code myself, the car ran fine again--something they should have caught before returning the vehicle. Later, while washing the car, I found that a head bolt on my driver-side front tire was missing, which is a serious safety concern. At that point, I completely lost confidence in their workmanship. To make things worse, I noticed they tried to include a replacement engine mount on the second bill--even though they had already replaced them during my first visit. They removed that charge only after I questioned it. Between the unauthorized charges, missed safety-critical reassembly, and attempt to double-charge for parts, I can no longer trust this shop. I found this place through Yelp and decided to give them a shot. I am really glad I did because they have officially become my go to shop. My first visit was for an oil change. The price was very reasonable compared to other places I have been to and the service was quick and straightforward. If you can, pay cash because you usually get the best deal. What really earned my trust is how honest they are. Recently my vehicle started acting up and showed a "Brake Hold" and "Hold" message on the dash. I thought it was going to be something expensive, but he checked it out and told me all I needed to do was disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes to reset the system. Sure enough, that fixed it. Not long after, my dash lit up with multiple warning messages and I thought I had a serious brake problem. I called him again expecting bad news, but instead of trying to sell me repairs, he simply told me to drive the vehicle and the messages would clear on their own, and they did. I managed to make it the 40 miles home, but it was Sunday, and as you know, almost every shop was closed. After reading the reviews here, I decided to give Evan a call. He responded within an hour while finishing another job and was at my place about 30 minutes later. I had already stopped at AutoZone out of desperation, where they suggested it might be a failing fuel pump, which is a potentially expensive repair. Evan took a completely different approach. He inspected the engine, ran his own diagnostics, and quickly determined that the real issue was a misfiring spark plug in cylinder 3. What really stood out was how much he explained along the way. Instead of just fixing the problem and leaving, he walked me through what he was seeing and why. I learned more about my engine in that hour than I ever have from a traditional repair shop. After replacing the spark plug, he cleaned everything up, gave me maintenance tips, and pointed out a few items that would eventually need attention...including a leaking valve cover gasket that had allowed oil to pool in the spark plug well, along with a worn motor mount and drive belt. There was no pressure...just honest advice about what to prioritize when I had the time. I trusted his assessment enough that I had him come back the following week to take care of those repairs as well.
