A week or so ago, I called Evan because I genuinely thought my car was done for. I was driving home from Palm Springs when it suddenly started struggling to accelerate, and the check engine light began flashing. I managed to make it the 40 miles home, but it was Sunday, and as you know, almost every shop was closed. After reading the reviews here, I decided to give Evan a call. He responded within an hour while finishing another job and was at my place about 30 minutes later. I had already stopped at AutoZone out of desperation, where they suggested it might be a failing fuel pump, which is a potentially expensive repair. Evan took a completely different approach. He inspected the engine, ran his own diagnostics, and quickly determined that the real issue was a misfiring spark plug in cylinder 3. What really stood out was how much he explained along the way. Instead of just fixing the problem and leaving, he walked me through what he was seeing and why. I learned more about my engine in that hour than I ever have from a traditional repair shop. After replacing the spark plug, he cleaned everything up, gave me maintenance tips, and pointed out a few items that would eventually need attention...including a leaking valve cover gasket that had allowed oil to pool in the spark plug well, along with a worn motor mount and drive belt. There was no pressure...just honest advice about what to prioritize when I had the time. I trusted his assessment enough that I had him come back the following week to take care of those repairs as well. His pricing was better than what I would have paid at a dealership or most repair shops, he's easy to talk to, never makes you feel intimidated if you don't know much about cars, and the fact that he offers mobile service with such flexible hours is a huge bonus.
