Start with the exterior marketplace showcasing X-Wing fighter pilot helmets to children and adult SW character shirts and outerwear. Entering in, you find the latest era and character SW sweatshirts. It is worth walking through just to see what's new. Lightsabers have their own section that include Hilts, lightsabers (2 sizes), and Lightsaber Kits (more expensive but worth it). They are the same, if not similar, selection as those sold in Dak-Ondar's Den of Antiquities, but without having to go INSIDE the park. SWTP also carries the less expensive toy versions like Ahsoka Tano's double or dual set for under $100. The service is impeccably strong with Cast Member/CM everywhere to assist. The Lightsaber counter usually has 2-3 CMs or they close by as the counter gets busy. Everything from legacy lightsaber hilts and kyber crystals to Jedi robes, Rebel jackets, as well as theme clothing and toys. Might not find brand-new character releases or highly limited-edition box sets occasionally remain exclusive to Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities inside Galaxy's Edge. No Downtown Disney trip is complete without visiting the Star Wars Trading Post! This was our first time visiting Disney since they acquired 20th Century Fox, which includes the Star Wars franchise, so we haven't seen all the Star Wars stuff yet until this visit. My dad is a huge Star Wars fan and he ended up passing his interest down to me. This would be his own candy store if I ever brought him down here. OMG, they have everything and anything Star Wars in here, including Grogu (my favorite character of them all). I ended up taking home a huge Grogu plush doll, which was on sale for about $20 off. I wanted to buy all the Grogu stuff but although he's adorable, I couldn't. I also bought a magnet to put on my car. My LTP got himself a Darth Maul ceramic cup, although he doesn't drink coffee. So basically this cup is just for show on his end. I noticed too late that they accept Disney gift cards (we both got one each specifically for this trip as a Christmas present). I have plenty of balance left and I hope to save it for our next trip here. I tried not to overdo on buying things, but the Grogu plush and the magnet were just enough for myself. You can also build your own lightsaber here, which is totally awesome. You can't miss this place if you're a huge Star Wars fan visiting the Downtown Disney District. Well worth coming here! The force was strong at this spot! I came for the merch and stayed for the Millennium Falcon feels. The Star Wars Trading Post is definitely a must visit when going to Downtown Disney District. Visiting this spot is like stepping into a Star Wars movie. From the music to the decor, they definitely got a little bit of the Outer Rim right in the middle of Anaheim! They are so cute. They were selling out fast due to the rain. I can't imagine spending 89.99 for an umbrella I will hardly use in Sunny California. My son did end up getting a make your own lightsaber. The staff that helped him was very helpful. Disney knows how to upsell. Star Wars Trading Post was designed to look like a hidden jungle Resistance base. In front of the store is Rey's speeder from the movies. Star Wars Trader Post has all sorts of merchandise and apparel inspired by the Star Wars movies and Disney+ shows. The nice thing about shopping here is that you don't need a themed park ticket to visit. You just have to pay the parking rates at Downtown Disney and go through security. This spot used to be a Rainforest Cafe, and I hadn't been to Downtown Disney in ages. I kept eyeing this store from the outside and finally decided to step in and wow! It truly feels like you've entered another galaxy... yes, a Star Wars galaxy! The store is clean, well organized, and full of amazing merchandise. I originally came in hoping to find some Chewbacca Mickey ears (no luck), but ended up getting my son an awesome jacket instead. This used to be a Rainforest Cafe and while I loved that restaurant, I'm so glad they turned it into a bit of Star Wars heaven for those don't want to pay for park admission but can still experience a taste of the Galaxy's Edge shops and merch. I was looking to buy a Rebel X Wing Fighter helmet and a Princess Leia Organa Legacy Lightsaber Hilt and Blade that day...I was on a mission! I received such wonderful service from one of the gals there who gladly assisted and showed me how to attach the blade and work the hilt. I was immediately sold and said "TAKE MY MONEY!!!" We even got into a conversation about cosplay and Star Wars Night at Disneyland. Gotta love folks who love their jobs! The store is outfitted with pretty much everything you need as a hardcore geek. They have a ton of Star Wars merch to include clothing, accessories, artwork, pins, patches, toy lightsabers and figurines. It is pretty spacious and they have an outside post that sells additional items to reel you in. Such an easy sell if you are a Star Wars fan. Where Rainforest Cafe once stood is now Star Wars Trading Post. Given the size of Rainforest Cafe, I was expecting the store to be larger. The upstairs is not utilized for retail space. Disney did repurpose the large tree that was inside/ towards the front of Rainforest Cafe. The tree helps make the inside of the shop look like it is part of a hidden Rebel outpost. Nets and greenery on the ceiling help round out the feel. There is a setup along a wall that looks like a command center. The shop is well themed. This shop has mostly Star Wars themed clothing. Along with clothing, there are pins, kitchen goods, home decor and toys. They also have Halloween quality costumes for kids. read more

We came in here 4/6/25 to look for a gift. I asked a sales lady if she could point me to the directions of where the pins are and was immediately being scolded by her. She was short and older lady. I understand she was with a guest helping them with a lightsaber, but she could have A) handled it better or B) just simply point to the direction of where they were. Unknowingly to my mom she went to the same lady who was cold, mean, unfriendly response. I have a hard time seeing and my mom found someone to help us. Her name is Cali S and she was a huge blessing. Not only was she kind and patient, but so helpful and understanding and helped us find the perfect pin for our friend. She went above and beyond. That older lady should take notes from Cali about how to treat customers and customer service. I hope that someone will acknowledge Cali for being an absolute superstar. If it were not for her we would have not bought anything and would have told others to steer clear of this place. However because of Cali's kindness that is not such a bad issue. read more

If you do not want to pay the mooko bucks to get into Disneyland but still want to experience a bit of Star Wars, check out the Star Wars Trading Post in downtown Disney. Long gone is the Rain Forest cafe. They transformed the space into a Star Wars themed shop that looks like a rebel base, on the planet Baatu. Rey's speeder, from Jakku, is on display in the front. Great backdrop for a photo. Inside the shop, the designers added decor touches to resemble a covert rebel base with fuel containers, equipment lockers, and a wall size digital computer screen with a control panel. Neat! It was so cute watching the youngins get excited and play pretend with the control panel. Inside the shop you will find clothes, costumes, stuffed animals, $70 mini backpacks shaped like Yoda and Chewbacca, action figures, toy light sabers, helmets $200 (stormtrooper, Rebel X Wing), BB8 robots, plushies, mugs, pins, toys, T-shirt's, Rebel jackets and knapsacks, and custom made legacy light sabers. You can make your own light saber or buy a legacy. In the back left corner of the shop is a glass counter displaying the legacy lightsabers of Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan, Rey, Darth Vader, Ben Solo, Kylo Ren, and Darth Maul. Those range around $150. So cool to see all the lights sabers displayed together. It gave me an opportunity to visually compare all of them. read more

My third favorite store in downtown Disney. Disney is getting so expensive so if you can't afford to buy a ticket for Disneyland to see Starwars land then come down to downtown to get your Starwars fill for free. if you buy Starwars merch that's just a plus. The whole trading post makes you feel like you in the Starwars galaxy at a local trading post. All the workers are in their uniforms that fit the theme. But if you are trying to find this outpost if you come from the Disneyland side of downtown Disney you will have to walk to the end of the town to find it. But if you come from the downtown Disney parking lot side you will find it on your left side by the entrance of Disney springs. Please check it out if you haven't! read more

The souvenirs are strong with this one I would have missed this shop if not for map in the middle of Disney downtown. And boy am I glad I decided to check out the map. Located off the main strip, most of the items here you can get at World of Disney (I know you read that review) however they have one thing that WoD didn't sell. When I was filming Savi's workshop (I know, I know), my son had the opportunity to build any lightsaber but Kylo Ren's. They didn't offer the material to build Ren's hilt. At the trading post, they sell the hilt and the blade. Sweet. In fact, they have all the other charter's hilts here and blades. I found out it's a standard blade the changes colors according to which hilt it's attached too. Not going to lie, I brought one right away including the blade. The problem was they didn't sell any form of protective sleeve. At Savi's they gave you one. The least they could do at the price to attend the workshop. So I did what any fan would do, I brought the limited edition Darth Vader and Bo-Katan masks along with the hilt and blade. And I had Disney ship them since they ain't fitting in my luggage. It cost an additional $74 for shipping and to my surprise they all came in two days before Christmas via UPS. Overall five stars. The geek in me loved it and even if I could buy it using Disney's website, I got to see it and hold it before purchasing any of the items and that was important before laying down the cash. A treasure trove of Star Wars merch!! Located on the north-west side of Downtown Disney by the Disneyland Hotel inside security near the Lego Store in what looks like an old ruin, there are so many Star Wars themed items. Clothes, light sabers, stuffed animals, costumes, helmets, theme appropriate Minnie ears, mugs, collectibles, the list goes on and on. This is a Star Wars fans mecca. It does get super crowded so be prepared to dodge and weave. Also you will find things, put them down, and end up going back for them later if you like the universe. They are in their new location as of 2/19/21! I was finally able to get to visit as we were able to get on the virtual wait list. Other times I've been here, the virtual line has been closed as we usually come later in the day. The Trading Post was originally in the Wonderground store for a short time during the pandemic, but got moved to this bigger standalone location taking over the old Rainforest Cafe spot. They did a great job redecorating the space to feel like you're inside the Star Wars universe. I love that they brought in Rey's Speeder as the main prop in front of the store. The store itself is pretty big, they have some merch outside the physical store along with lots of security in the area. The indoor section has most items they offered in Galaxy's Edge. They do offer the legacy character lightsabers, robes, toys, pushes, adult & kids clothes, and collectables. Don't forget to pick up their exclusive reusable bags for $1! I've heard rumors that there is enough room for a Star Wars dining spot. Fingers crossed! We do need another Cantina! All precautions are adheard to: masks, partitions and social distancing. I recently purchased 2 lightsabers from the Star Wars trading post. My complaint is they have a glass case that says 30% off. I noticed majority of lightsabers that were 30% off were priced at $219.99. I have been to this store a lot and know for a fact these lightsabers were initially priced at $169.99. If you do math then $169.99 times 30% is $219.99. You take $219.99 and knock off the 30% and you get $169.99. You are paying original price. Nice try Disney. I hope others don't fall for this. I made sure the sabers I got were either $169.99 original price or the dark saber which has been $219.99 for a long time. Unfortunately Disney's prices have continued to go up and the quality and material are cheap. Disney use to have good quality merchandise, but now are just trying to make money. In this instance you mark things up by 30% then people think they are getting a deal when you take off 30%. SMH, the mouse would be ashamed at the current price gouging of Disney. read more

This used be the Rainforest Cafe a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...Well not quite, but the space that was formerly the Rainforest Cafe has been totally transformed so that it feels like walking into a store in Jakku or on a resistance base. The store itself is an experience. There were plenty of Star Wars merchandise, but some items on the website weren't in the store and there didn't seem to be many home items that I'd seen elsewhere. There wasn't a virtual line available when I visited. While it took awhile to move through the line, the wait wasn't too bad. The cast members kept things moving. No one mentioned that we all had to take a number, and it was placed a bit askew, so that part was a bit confusing. There were still quite a few people in the store despite the line to keep people socially distanced, but at least one side of the store is pretty much open to the outdoors. read more
