There are often quite a few customers standing around waiting for their orders. This appears to be the only location between Ft. Wayne and Angola, which is probably why it is so busy. With chain coffee places, the bar get's raised; It gets harder to separate the good from the great. This Starbucks has found a way to separate itself from the rest, not inly by providing excellent-crafted drinks and wraps, but by going above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Tayler took our order, and in my wife's words: "Every Starbucks should have a Tayler". She was patient, knowledgeable, and even gave us some fantastic recommendations (adding siracha to the spinach wrap was something I never knew I needed). It's important to recognize people going above and beyond, and Tayler deserves all of the flowers! If we are ever back in Auburn again, we'll be stopping by! read more

While en route to Michigan, we stopped here for a bathroom break and caffeinated beverages. I was a bit worried when I saw the average ratings on Yelp so low, but I left pleasantly surprised! I was immediately impressed at the number of employees working on a Saturday morning. My local Starbucks has maybe 2 or 3 workers on average, and this Starbucks in Auburn was well-staffed. I ordered in store and did have to wait a bit for my drink, despite being the only person in line - largely because they have a busy drive thru, and many people order ahead via the app. I also grabbed an egg/cheese/fruit box from the well-stocked refrigerated section. My experience at this Starbucks was quick and responsive, and my iced matcha tea latte was great. Their bathroom -- the reason we stopped here on our long road trip -- was clean and complete. Overall, the store was quite nice. However, I left my purse/wallet in the bathroom. By the time I recognized this, I was in West Virginia, several hours away. I discovered that the store number was on the cup, and when I figured out how to contact them, the baristas confirmed my wallet was in the safe and that the manager would send it to me. It took a lot of prodding, but the day supervisors and baristas were so kind each time I called. Weeks later, the store manager sent the purse to my home in Washington state, and presto! I was driving with a license again, my money, debit and credit cards were all there. Whew! Much like Katie we were on our way to the Detroit area and needed a rest stop with caffeine. Unlike Katie it took us 25 minutes to get a tall Flat White. The excuse was there was a mobile order that came in that had 13 different drinks. I was not happy. This is becoming a norm at Starbucks (another reason why my business with them has dropped dramatically) - the walk up customer is the lowest priority. Since they got cool and took mobile orders the un-cool among us that come through the front door are last in line. Suggestion: was at another place on the same trip that served drive-up and walk-up business. They dedicated a person to the walk-up business while a team handled orders for drive-up. Speak up! Loudly!! Look, you probably weren't aware that most folks enjoy the sound and smell of a roaring diesel engine. I sure do. It's kind of weird but still ok if you don't. Ordered online at 12:28. We got all of our drinks at around 12:35. We watched our oatmeal bowls sit on the table with nobody touching them for half an hour. One worker was standing back by the food just sorting sandwiches. Lots of unnecessary conversation. About 30 people went through the drive thru while we were waiting for our food. Someone finally started working on the oatmeal, then got distracted and made ANOTHER drive thru drink. We then asked about it because we had gotten the notification 30 minutes ago that it was ready. They said they were working on it. Another ten minutes passed and no food. Finally after about an hour we got our food. Super annoying. Especially when people are just standing around, and a bunch of people come and go while we are still waiting. I was so surprised to go through the drive-thru at 5am and see the staff so excited and ready for the day. Penny from Auburn Starbucks was one of the sweetest and friendliest drive-thru workers I have ever met, coming from a drive-thru worker. She was very sweet and talked to us while we waited for our order. We had 3 drinks and 4 different snacks in our order and it was our very quick. 10/10 recommend visiting this starbucks location. read more

Stopped here on my way from Indy to Michigan and I'll have to say that this place is quite great. The service was very friendly, the bathroom was fairly clean, and my soy latte was on point. The soy milk was steamed perfectly as to not ruin the taste. The parking was also pretty decent. The only issue is if I were to want to stick around the place, it sure would get cold near the door (or as Patrick T. pointed out maybe cold regardless!) Additionally, there isn't much space in the place in general so I could see it getting pretty busy in there! I'd agree w/ Joe L. Really, the other reviewer is going to give "zero" stars to this place b/c they closed early? Usually when a place closes early it's because it wasn't busy, or because there's an emergency and they can't get anyone to cover. This is definitely not a 1-star place, let alone a zero star. I understand COVID has restrictions but this store is not being managed properly with communication of expectations. Stood in line way too long as they chatted with the locals, then she screwed up my order after making fun of it. When I asked for the order to be corrected she said it was the last of that food item. I just drove from Michigan to southern Missouri and back and this was the dirtiest place we have stopped at on our trip and the dirtiest food/beverage establishment I have been at in long time. Greasy floors throughout. Black funk all over the outside of the toilet. Hair all over the floor in the bathroom, and what had to be months old water buildup under the hand towels, on the floors and wall... No hand towels. Debris everywhere in the guest/lobby area and behind the counter. Dirty tables, and we were the only ones in the place, with 3-4 people standing around. I had a great experience here, actually I'm sitting at a great big wooden table inside writing this review on their free wi-fi! It was extremely busy for a late morning, but the employees were busy and kept things flowing. I got my drink and sandwich timely and given with a smile. there is a very nice patio that I would use if it weren't snowing outside in April. (got to love Indiana) the other reviewer didn't like that they closed early because it was Christmas. yeahh.. I'll just leave that one alone. I don't normally review Starbucks, but seeing as one of the previous reviewers didn't even go INTO the store, I feel obligated to help out...not that they need any help, as they seem to be doing just fine. Clean store, friendly staff. Ventured in on a Saturday late morning with my pre-teen daughter, looking for a quick pick-me-up and warm-me-up for both of us and was not disappointed! First we scored a $1 off coupon by taste testing one of their new blends, and then we ordered a huge blueberry muffin, a mocha, and a hot chocolate. Order only took a few minutes to complete and we were out the door, sipping our hot steamies and munching on our pre-lunch snack. Once we both got down to about half (and we were trading cups pretty frequently), we decided to combine them into one, and wow, that was good too...Lots of chocolate! I have worked at Starbucks in the past and this is the slowest one I've ever been at. I waited in the drive thru on a Sunday for 25 minutes, I paid (which I shouldn't have) and then waited some more. I constantly saw the person barring get drinks put in front of mine. I will never go back to this Starbucks. The guy taking my order sounded extremely annoyed that I was ordering four drinks (understandable, but don't work customer service if you're not willing to deal with annoying orders.) then, he gave me my total in a cocky way. Finally I inquired about our order. The sticker machine was not printing stickers. So our order was in Starbucks sticker abyss. Got my drink-made wrong. I told them it was wrong. Makayla said she would get it made. The maker of my drink said it was ordered 'with cream'. I ALWAYS order it with cream base. She did not get any brownie points with me, by challenging me what I ordered. I understand that it was busy-but do not get snotty with me. We lost an hour there. I tried to speak to a manager but after 5 minutes of waiting at the order line, I gave up. So I called and asked to speak to a manager. She was very nice. She just had gotten on duty when I called. At least she apologized. So if you are heading to Michigan and you have an hour or so to waste-stop at Auburn, IN's Starbucks. You might want to take a book with you! Unfortunately we spend way to much money at Starbucks, upwards of $6,000 per year. We travel a lot around the USA and the world and have been to hundreds of Starbucks. I don't want to brag I just want to show how much we use Starbucks. My family and I were staying about an hour from here at a lake and my wife and I made the hour long drive just to go here for to do some work away from the kids and to get Starbucks. When we showed up the person using the register didn't even say hi or good morning. Fine, some people just aren't friendly (however you usually don't find them at Starbucks). Once she scanned my phone she just walked away without saying have a good day or would you like a receipt (we needed one). Literally just turned around and walked away. I would never lease a yelp review just because one person was unfriendly. Life moves on. However around lunch time we decided to order another round. When I handed over my $100 bill for a $8 order they tried to short change me by $10, I had to count it out to them twice before they even believed me. I honestly thought they were struggling with the math as they handed me a mix of 20s, 10s and 5s. I had to put it into piles for them on the counter. They then FORGOT to even make my order and I had to go and ask them to make it about 15 minutes later. At which time I received a blank face with a "what are you talking about" comment. Once it actually came there was no "sorry" or apologies either just "here's your order" This place is terrible. Do not stop here or make any kind of extra effort to come here.
