I've been wanting to try BFM burgers for a while now. I ordered the " IT BITES BACK, and paired it with the Cheddar and Chives fries, as well as a Vanilla bean ice cream Sunday " . Talk about a treat the burger was juicy but not greasy, with just a hint of spice, the fries were PERFECTLY seasoned they are cooked in beef tallow and the smoked sea salt is so good. The owner clearly takes pride in his craft. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this place is great . Their meat is from a local butcher shop & you can tell the difference. And you won't finish feeling lethargic like you just ate McDonald's . To the owner and chef's, thank you for taking pride in what you " bring to the table " !! ( literally) read more

I have been here numerous times! Always have a good experience. We always eat in, it's a little slow as most people do carry out but the burgers are high quality ingredients and the owner truly cares and it shows! You can also do a lot of customization to your meal which is fun! It's a clean small space to eat. Service is a little slow but it's usually just a cook and owner and they do the best they can! Really enjoy this place and I would encourage everyone to give it a try!! read more

Really enjoyed our first time at BFM. The food was lights out and the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had the loaded fries, bacon cheeseburger, smash burger, root beer and a Oreo milkshake. None of which disappointed, ingredients all were fresh and good quality. I do not know how to explain how lucky I was to find this place. The food was INCREDIBLE! I cannot sing their praises enough! By pure happenstance (while driving the 18 hours from New York to Chicago), I got hungry for burgers in the middle of Indiana, and wanted to find a burger place ASAP. The reviews spoke highly of BFM, so I thought, "Sure, why not." When my partner and I arrived, we were convinced that the reviews had lied, and this was actually a trap for unsuspecting travelers. There was only (what looked to be) a beige metal woolshed, with a simple hand-painted sign that said, "Burgers." I dropped a pin on Google Maps with our precise location, and called a few friends to let them know exactly where we were. "If you do not hear from me in 15 minutes, call the fire department," I said. How wrong I was! The owner greeted us as soon as we walked in, and you have immediate view of grill and food preparation station. This is by no means a requirement, but sometimes I take comfort in being able to see my food prepared (especially when I am trying a new restaurant). EVERYTHING is made by hand - the burgers, the buns, the fries, the HAND-CHURNED ICE CREAM I even had one of their homemade sodas! And while we waiting for our meals to be lovingly prepared (I could see the head chef in the back take such delicate care of every item), we were regaled with wonderful stories of the owner's travels, and how BFM burgers also became a general store where they partner with local folks and sell items on consignment. So for all you die-hard Schitt$ Creek fans - you can come see Rose's Apothecary come to life! The food was an elevated experience. It truly was the haute cuisine we longed for on our trip to New York! I truly wondered if I was meeting David Rose in the flesh, as this cosmopolitan owner's talents were that of a recent graduate from Le Cordon Bleu. I asked the owner if he was a character in an early 90's movie film plot. Was this a Michael J. Fox in "Doc Hollywood" situation? Was he on his way to New York to start his fortune, hit a deer along the backroads of Indiana, and put up this shingle to pay for his auto repairs and get back on the road to New York? The owner assured my partner and I that he was in fact a born and bred Hooiser, having grown up not to far from BFM Burger's location. But he was also a Hooiser who enjoyed traveling the world. I truly could have stayed the whole afternoon. I live 3 hours away from BFM, but rest assured my next free weekend I am dedicating to driving back and trying more delicious items on the menu. I stumbled on a post for this place and then it took me a couple trips around town before I found the place. It's quite inconspicuous BUT according to the owner, that's to keep the wait time down. This place is an incredible, delicious gem!! Order double the fries you think you want, trust me. Oh, and make them loaded but the smoked sea salt is amazing too. I also recommend the Island burger but my son suggests the breakfast burger; my daughter the it bites back. You can't lose especially if you go ahead and treat yourself to a shake after. Yum!! This is the nicest little restaurant we stumbled upon in Waterloo, IN. They have awesome burgers, fries, shakes and hand crafted sodas. We enjoyed the owner immensely, he's congenital, courteous and happy to share his tips for making and serving the best food! We'll definitely go back. The fresh food here is just amazing. All dishes are made in house with many locally sourced ingredients. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They always make you feel special. This place offers the best burgers+fries around. They keep their menu simple and effective, and they will accommodate your order without a fuss. There are a few major turn offs, however. 1. They have no phone. How anyone can dodge carry out these days is beyond me. They sometimes respond via Facebook messenger and you can try a carry out order there, but it's taken them upwards of 40 minutes to respond before. This is a big issue because... 2. Orders take about 20 minutes to make, even without a line/people eating in the restaurant. That's why carry out is so important! The food is good enough that I walk in, order, then wait in my car, but it definitely stops me from eating there as much as I'd like. 3. The building they are in can hardly be called a restaurant. 4 walls, no windows, and two fold-up tables scrunched together. Again, this is why carry out is so important, but they just don't want to buy a phone. Still 4/5 because what they do right is the most important thing -- the food! I just wish I didn't have to jump through so many hoops that no other restaurant around here requires. Also, it's run by a pleasant man who is running his first business, so I give them credit there too. I'll update my review if they change anything in the near future. read more

Owner is always on hand ensuring food quality is the best. He is patient and good at offering suggestions and substitutions. It may be a "hole in the wall" but the food is top quality. The smash burger is excellent as is the homemade ice cream made in store. read more

This place is still really new so I think they're still figuring stuff out. You have to look really hard for the restaurant because it's not really marked except for a paper on the door. We found it after driving by a couple times and I'm glad we did. The inside could use some decorations because it's basically an open room with folding tables and folding chairs. The food though, is why we we were here. The food was really good. It's a burger place so they do one thing and they do it well. The burgers were big, juicy, and flavorful. The buns they use are really good too. Plus the cheese is thick cut cheddar and not just a crappy processed slice like most places. I had the breakfast burger and my wife had the bacon cheeseburger. We were both really impressed by the taste and quality. The milkshake I enjoyed but my wife said it wasn't quite sweet enough or something. She liked it but it wasn't her favorite. The wait for lunch on a weekday ended up being about 30 minutes so plan for that but I'm sure it will get better as they work the kinks out. read more
