This Starbucks has staff that desperately needs training. The drinks do not taste correct here and we have stopped three times before decided we were done "giving it a chance". There are serious problems here. During our final visit, we had to wait for the barista to finish mopping the floor before they would make the ordered and paid-for drink. Minutes went by. No problem. We all appreciate a clean environment. Then, when the drink had finished blending, the barista decided it was more important to chat with the cashier. We requested that they postpone their private conversation and to just finish the order by pouring the drink from the blender and handing it over to us. The barista blew their gasket because they do not understand work, customer service, or have common decency toward the customer. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

About 2 miles away from this location, check out the Chocolate Moose - awesome coffee, teas, and smoothies along with a huge selection of ice cream. I stopped at this location 2 times on a trip. The first time was "cash only" because of an issue.Drink was ok, but the workers were so confused between 2 earlier customers that it created a big issue. On the return trip, I tried to pay with my Starbucks card that had almost $11 left. The employee said it was invalid even though there was money on the card. She typed it in and couldn't figure it out, so when I had to pay with another method I lost points from getting the 2x use with card. Note: went to Starbucks in my home city yesterday and it worked JUST fine like always. I CLEARLY said almond milk with my drink. Instead, I spent $10 for a frappechino that the label was created wrong, so it was ALL milk with a "splash of almond milk." Who orders a drink like that? NOT ME. I can't drink straight milk. I had to THROW AWAY the entire drink losing out on money and stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. No one knows what they are doing. Very chaotic with orders both times. Poorly run Starbucks. Food and coffee all over kitchen counters, milk jugs left out and open. They would never pass a health test. I've never seen such a messy kitchen and chaotic staff at a Starbucks. They might be saving $ by not having enough staff but they will certainly loose customers. read more

Worst coffee ever! #yuck #thisismildbrew We stopped here because we were on a really long drive and needed some caffeine. I tried their mild blend before and I thought it was decent. I asked the young lady if they had a mild view and she said they did. I come here all the time when traveling up to Ohio. Every single time they mess my order up. Today I ordered a venti Cramel Ribbon crunch frap and they gave me a tall and charged me for the Venti. I also asked if they had cake pops and they said yes chocolate and birthday cake I said two chocolate and got birthday cake. When I said something about my drink she said no that's what you ordered and turned her back to me. It was soooooo beyond rude. This Starbucks is located at the Beckley, WV rest stop at the Tamarack complex. My wife wanted a coffee and since we were stopping in to use the facilities at Tamarack this was the best place to get one. I noticed they had the new Been There mug collection as well as the older Virginia You Are Here collection as well. The line wasn't long so it wasn't that bad of a wait. This place doesn't have much space and if it were busy this winding line would be crowded since the counter and staging area is not like a normal Starbucks. read more

I don't know if it's because it's in service center, but this place needs a major overhaul! We stopped by on our way home and the line was long, no problem... got our order in and paid and waited about 20 minutes to get my drink. While waiting, I overheard the two employees talk about scheduling issues, staff issues and lot of other issues in the public and they were so focused on their conversation, they were very slow in getting the drinks ready.... in addition, the waiting area smelled like someone did #1 there or something... it was a strong smell one doesn't need to smell by the coffee area.... I just hope this was one of those days where I just happened to stop by when things were going well.... just hoping it is!! read more

This is a country Starbucks. Inside, the local characters are definitely worth watching. Behind the counter, the employees are a bit slower than usual but they make up for it in sweetness, neatness, accuracy, and flavoring their drinks with love. And in fairness, they will pick up the speed if there are a lot of people waiting. Not a bad 'bux. It's also one of the few in this area, and it's open 24/7. read more

Shocker that this place has two stars. My daughter and I visited this Starbucks on our way through to VA. There were no customers ahead of us which was a nice change from the usual Starbucks experience The barista working the register literally repelled friendly. She was like a dementor that made me feel like I would never be cheerful again. The barista working the bar took about five minutes before she decided to make our drinks. Instead of making my cold brew she made and iced coffee and when I asked her if they were out of cold brew she replied, "No. Did you want cold brew?" I tried to make light of it and said, "I can try this and see if I like it." She rolled her eyes at me. I genuinely tried to like the iced coffee but after paying what I pay for my drink I decided to ask her to remake it. Insert a disgusted sigh and another eye roll from our friendly barista. We stop here routinely on our semi annual trips from Charlotte to Cleveland. Nearly every time there is some menu items that they don't have in stock. Today the toaster wasn't working and no Pink drinks. Last time no soy milk... They also appear to be generally understaffed. No reason for a line of 25 people at any Starbucks. read more

If they were in Seattle, it would be a 1 star. Even though every Starbucks employee gets the same training...? Half empty drinks? Trying to charge double for an iced coffee? They gave me a free drink when I came in to get another coffee (cuz 5 sips of anything isn't going to wake me up) with a very pleasant frown on their face and a muffled half hearted "I'm sorry". The free drink? Also not all the way full.... Now for the double charge? When a customer asks for a receipt- YOU GIVE THEM THE RECEIPT!!!! Anyone in customer service knows this. Because if the customer is wrong, then the receipt can prove it. And if the receipt proves they were right and you were wrong? Guess what! Fix it! They are the paying customer and charging double for a half empty drink is not the business plan Starbucks used to become a multi-billion dollar international household name. She adjusted the price but only after asking the other employee about it. I wonder how many people were over charged and don't realize it. The girl at the register was kind, but every single thing was ridiculously overpriced. The baristas were incredibly slow, and even then, they got my very simple order wrong, which I realized down the road whenever I finally got to drink my long awaited drink. I ended up pouring it out (wasting my $5) since we're driving through the mountains and there's no turning back. On the return trip, I'll be sure to get my Starbucks somewhere else. read more

Stopped into the rest area on the Turnpike for coffee and were met with the most disgruntled employee I've seen in a very long time, I didnt catch the girls name but she made a big impression on most of the 7 or 8 of us waiting for service. The Gentleman in line ahead of us had ordered and he was waiting on his drink when he asked her for sugar, the sugar bin was empty, she was making his drink so she turned around and said "I've been working alone for 10 hours so I'll get you some in a minute" the guys looked over at me and we both raised our eyebrows. She finished his drink and without even acknowledging that there were more people waiting in line she walked out of the store, through the service plaza and into an unknown room around the corner. She totally left the Starbucks unmanned and didnt even have the decency to ask us to be patient or explain what was happening. Just then another Starbucks employee came into the plaza, logged into a register and immediately took my order and started making my drink....then miss Bad Attitude came back with a box of sugar, shoved a couple handfuls into the bin, she walked behind the counter and threw her card keys onto the registed and walked off. None of us who were in line gave a crap about her bad day...as it turned out we had hit out 10 hour driving mark when we decided to stop in for coffee and yet we still had good attitudes, even when faced with her bad one. She needs to be reprinamded not only for trewating customers badly but for also ditching the other employee who just stepped into work with a long line of people waiting. Shame on her, Starbucks needs some major training to happen at this store. read more
