Stopped in here to get some donuts while staying in Beckley on our travel home. Cute old school shop with the best donuts! The lady behind the counter was awesome, friendly and made my daughter's day letting her have a donut hole while I ordered literally 1 of each flavor for a dozen. You can tell they make everything from scratch because the donuts were delicious, especially the crème filled ones. The prices are crazy, we pay twice as much for a dozen donuts in Louisville. I'm glad we stopped and next year when we will absolutely go back. read more

There is no better place for always fresh never frozen donuts. It's disheartening to realize that some only know Dunkin'. Listen, I'm not hating, there's a place for the quick hit fix of dunkin. There is a platonic nature to Dunkin's work, it's what you get for those who you consider an acquaintance. My neighbor recommended Donut Connection, so we hit them up during our Christmas shopping excursion. The coffee was piping hot (and the cashier warned me very courteously). We got a half dozen assorted and the French Crullers were outstanding! If I had the sugar tolerance of yesteryear, I'd have gotten one of the cookie/frosting extravaganzas (pictured). Those of us in line were joking about how much of one we could eat and I'd be in a coma after about two bites, but they certainly look fun. read more

Here visiting from Arizona and saw this little gem of a place on my morning walk. I Convinced my granddaughter to go on a walk with me the next day for the cost of a donut. Oh my gosh. Literally the best donut we've ever had. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and the customer service was awesome!!! This has a small diner feel. It is good for donuts. We did not have breakfast sandwich because they are basically microwaved, which is fine just not what we wanted. I had a lot of delicious donuts. Coffee was good. Only one server and she was happy but very busy. This place has a lot of business and people! It was a fun stop on vacation. We are happy we stopped! I broke my diet for these donuts and it was totally worth it. First of all, they advertise having "the best coffee" And I'd say that advertisement is correct. I ordered a vanilla coffee with cream and wow- best coffee I've had! Price was on the expensive side. That was the Only downfall. It was $27 for 6 donuts, a coffee, a latte and 2 mills for our boys. Around where I'm From that would have been under $15. So that was the only downfall. Very expensive. And not a total downfall but on the different side- I am an apple fritter fanatic. This was the first apple fritter I had that had an apple pie like filling. So that was just different to me, I didn't really care for it all that much but the creme filled donut I had was great! The boys ordered Oreo chocolate donuts and they were on a sugar high for quite some time (lol) Note to self- do not let your children eat these donuts then drive 2 hours in car- too much energy . A sweet spot for your sweet tooth if you're ever passing through Beckley! This place opens as early as 5AM, which is a godsend for road trippers. They have a big variety of donuts/donut holes in the morning (I imagine it becomes less as the day goes on) and really good coffee. While it may not be the WORLD'S best coffee-- it's still pretty delicious (think comforting diner coffee)! Plenty of parking outside, and plenty of seating inside if you're not grabbing and going. The only thing I wish I asked about is if they could've warmed up my donut (which was really light and fluffy, by the way). Not sure who else likes their donuts warmed up, but it definitely would've been a plus! read more

We were in the area for the day and drove past and decided to stop in and see what they had and I'm glad we did. Their donuts are so good. The apple fritters though were amazing and I wish we would have gotten more than one. We got red velvet donut holes and blueberry ones and they were really good too. The maple bacon donut was really good. It didn't have that overly smoky bacon taste that a lot of them do. read more

It was a dreary rainy morning when I came in from the cold and was immediately enveloped by the warm glazed comfort of fried dough. I grew up in a big city but I imagine that this is what small town hospitality is all about. In the parking lot a nice man gave me the right-of-way (even though it belonged to him). All the patrons at the bar interacted with a friendly familiarity. The donuts looked fabulous and they were cosmopolitan enough to have Chai flavored Cronuts! I opted for 4 donut holes: Red Velvet, Pumpkin Spice, Blueberry & Plain Glazed. They were all magical. So if your soul is in need of a warm hug (in the form of food) this would be the place to come. This cute little donut shop was open late to my surprise. !!! I stumbled upon it with a few friends late one night around 10pm. We ordered a FRESH batch of pink sprinkled donuts. Hot, flaky, and sweet right out the oven. The employee on shift was so awesome and made the impromptu donut splurge SO worth it. I'm frequently seeing pictures online of amazing donut stores, and I am envious of people with access to such delights, lol! So when I saw this listing nearby, I was hopeful. It's apparent when you are entering the Donut Connection that is used to be a Dunkin Donuts by the store layout. Similar pricing and offerings, but what is different is the flavors. They do have some interesting flavors that you don't see normally like oreo crumble, pumpkin spice, reese peanut butter cup, and a few more I can't remember. I ordered a half dozen with all of the interesting flavors. Unfortunately, my imagination was way ahead of the reality. The donuts tasted like your typical Dunkin Donut. The toppings are good, but the base flavor is bland for me. It is a step up from a Dunkin Donuts, but not enough for me to visit again. read more

We've gone to this donut shop for years and apparently it has survived various owners. Recently the selection of donuts is sparse no matter what time of day we stop there. Recently we stopped and didn't realize the closing time had changed so I gave the woman the benefit of the doubt and attributed her rudeness to being tired and trying to close. Yesterday we stopped in the morning and the same woman was there. And the same demeanor-rude. If she doesn't like working with the public ( and we're pretty friendly people), they need to put her in the back making donuts or maybe she should find a job where she'd be happy. This isn't the first time I've been in here. But probably the last. I was in there with a friend. This was her first time. We have never been treated so rude as we was that day. Got there about 9:15 nothing hardly on the shelfs or the case. Asked about donut holes was told didn't have any, asked when they would be ready she said in hour. Came back in hour, asked about donut holes and certain donut was told do you see them. I should have walked out then. But I was getting for someone else. So I got something different. Big mistake. We only go to Beckley twice a year. We hit exit 42 just to shop at Donut Connection. We have no donut place within 40 miles of our home. Nowhere to get a good donut. NOWHERE! It is a treat to hit the shop knowing there are good donuts just waiting for us! We take orders from several people and as soon as the doctor visit is over, Donut Connection, here we come! It is like watch birds attack a loaf of bread, when we get home with the good stuff. Everyone has a favorite. The donuts are usually generously filled and fresh! They even make special orders if you call ahead. We've had to wait as more donuts are filled for our order because we order a lot of them! It is always worth the wait! All of us would rather eat at Donut Connection than have stale ones (by stale I mean they expired three days ago) delivered to a local store or have to make them at home (and that's too much work). That's our choices where we live. There are no local donut shops. No local coffee shop with donuts. No grocery store with a bakery that makes fresh donuts. No bakery within 40 miles. It is a joyous time to go inside this lovely store. We will be there tomorrow buying out the store so if y'all want a donut, ya had better get there before we do! read more
