The entire restaurant is decorated with art and crafts devised by students who work at Berea College. For lunch, I had a delicious catfish Po Boy sandwich with broccoli raisin slaw. Dessert was warm bread pudding with Kentucky bourbon sauce. Each meal is accompanied by an individual serving of the Tavern's famous warm spoon bread (a kind of corn meal soufflé) with butter. Dinner was light (still full from lunch). Kale sausage soup, hot deviled eggs and, of course more spoon bread. All washed down with filtered water and southern sweet tea. Servers were attentive and helpful. There is a full bar and an amazing offering of fine Kentucky Bourbons. Boone Tavern is pet friendly and located on campus. Shopping and campus locations are walkable. Parking is free and conveniently located.
