Haven't been to a Starbucks in awhile. Met my wife and we ordered White Chocolate Mocha and a Mocha Frappe-chino. Took 18 minutes for the Chocolate Mocha and 22 minutes for the Frappe. It was a cold day and the heater was broken, so it was a cold wait! They need more personnel at this store! Can't say I wouldn't come back, it was just a bad day for them. They should have had a sign on the door about the heater being broken! Also I don't think they should call out peoples names to pick up the order! They just shout it out! Came across a Facebook rant from an employee at this Starbucks, named Ashley Seider online calling customers crazy. I found her attitude towards customers extremely disgraceful. It was a totally random post that just popped up on my newsfeed, but I have attached the exact screenshot of the things she was ranting about. Even off the clock and on her personal time, she still represents Starbucks, and this post was very disappointing to read. Pros: -my drink was delicious and exactly what I ordered -service inside was relatively quick, considering the drive thru line wrapped 360 degrees around the building and spilled into Buffalo Gap Cons: -quite literally the ODDEST experience with a barista at any coffee shop I've ever been to. I ordered a sugar free London Fog Tea Latte. She asked what I meant by sugar free. I told her I meant I wanted to substitute sugar free vanilla syrup instead of the regular vanilla syrup. She had no idea the drink had syrup in it--I know this bc she seemed shocked and asked the barista behind her. While I find it completely understandable that she doesn't know the recipe of every single drink, I only mention this detail because she proceeded to tell me that she didn't know it had syrup in it because she stays "far, far away from that drink." Mildly rude commentary on my choice of beverage. Next, she began calling out to all the other baristas that she can't be around it when my drink is made. Not an exaggeration, I heard her warn at least five coworkers about my drink. So I'm left wondering if she has an allergy to tea, and feeling guilty that my drink is going to unalive her. Does she behave this way when other tea-based drinks are ordered? What about a medicine ball tea? A matcha tea? A chai tea latte? Why does she work at a place that quite literally primarily sells caffeinated beverages if she can't be around when a tea is made? Honestly, the questions are endless. Then she started playing some elaborate game of hide n go seek with my drink. She went to the back (I could still hear her behind closed doors talking about my tea). Then she skittered around the corner to over where the bathrooms are. She only came out of hiding spot after the barista who made my drink reported my tea's whereabouts to her as I was leaving. I have no way of knowing if she has an allergy or just a general dislike of Earl Grey tea. But sweet baby Jesus, it was a weird and dramatic way to respond in either instance. read more

I only stop at this Starbucks when I absolutely have to because it is HISTORICALLY slow. I have patronized many Starbucks locations West of the Mississippi River for decades. We actually went to Starbucks twice that day. The morning time took 30 minutes and there was a line around the building, so we understood. The second, in the afternoon with a friend, took over 40. The lady at the window explained they had one barista that day and apologized profusely. She was super polite and seemed a bit overwhelmed. I get it, I worked customer service for years. Please be kind to retail workers, they deal with a lot of verbal abuse. Things come up, don't take it out on the barista. Service was excellent, drinks were A+ , we just had to be patient. Worst Starbucks in Abilene, which sucks because it's right by my work. Baristas are unfriendly, the girl with the excessive face piercings didn't bother to look up from what she was doing when I came in and said hello. And this isn't the first time this has happened! Every time I come here I get awful service. I even complained to the manager once about how uninviting the staff was and she laughed it off saying it was early. These people are paid to be here early, and they need to be ready to work and greet their customers!! read more

This staff from management to employee are the most rude group I have ever meet. I don't drink coffee. And my coworkers asked for me to get some for them. I get here and the manager was getting annoyed and frustrated when I got confused when the sizes, and requested a clarification. Then he did a stop close the eyes and take a breath. Then completed my order using normal terms. Then told me to wait out side. So I did, and waited 5 mins went back on to check my order and there still working on it. The staff got angry at me interrupted me every time I tried to ask a question. I was trying to ask about how much longer. But no they said wait outside and they will bring it to me. Probably the least efficient/attentive Starbucks in Abilene. I order coffee all over in town, and this location still sweetens their iced coffee with traditional sugar EVEN when you ask for it with SUGAR FREE SYRUP. For diabetics, and anyone else with specific nutritional needs (especially sugar sensitivity), do not come here. If you don't specifically ask, they will put sugar free syrup in WITH regular sugar syrup (they obviously don't understand why you ask for SF in the first place). The Starbucks out on Enterprise Dr. is top notch and always checks dietary needs when they hear anything in your order that is out of the ordinary, so just know that location will take care of you easily. read more

I agree, the parking lot is a disaster, but their isn't much you can do about it. My problem is with the quality of the drinks and the poor attitude exhibited by the staff. I do appreciate when they ask if I want my bakery treat to be heated up. Only plus, but drinks often come out very wrong. read more

So, they now have the turkey bacon sandwich in stock, but still no protein plate or yogurts. Morning lines are LONG. I thought what the hey I will go inside it will be faster. WRONG. Even if the drive thru has a line wrapped around the building you're better off waiting in your car. The inside only has one poor guy working and he couldn't handle the crowd. I have to accept some responsibility here, because I know EVERY time I stop here, I leave hating it, but today I did, based on its location only. Here goes- It is without a doubt THE WORST location in the entire state of Texas! Yes, that is a lot but I am saying that for many, many reasons. My main complaint is the employees I come in contact with, and today was no exception. The person-male, I will not use the term gentleman because he was not, was the rudest I have ever encountered. He did not listen, acted totally put out by me being there and complexity of my 2 cup order, specifically the "pour over " I ordered. Seriously your job is to do nothing more than make me a cup of coffee, which you actually don't even make since you are working the window, yet it was totally too much for you to listen to my order and deliver it thru the window. Just a friendly exchange is all I ask for and this store just never delivers. I won't bother going into the quality of the beverages here.. I can just leave my review where it's at. 15-20 min wait time is common during busy hours. Service has always been slow. They need to hire more people, renovate to make the building bigger, or build a second location on the west side of town. I love Starbucks, but the wait is out of control. When driving back from way it in West Texas from a wedding we were in DIRE need for caffeine after the 4 straight hours of dancing at the reception. I'm pretty sure this is the only Starbucks in Abilene. There were a good 8 or so cars in front of us at the drive-through. My soar dancing feet was my excuse for thinking I'd wait in the drive-through an extra (what I thought would be) 5 minutes. In the 28 minutes we waited to order/ get our coffee I couldn't help but notice all of the bird poop - everywhere. Sure, I know it's January and birds are migrating south but it wasn't just the huge trees which branches that turned white with poop, but also the Starbucks signage. Gulp. This didn't make me very excited to consume my coffee from this place. What's worse than a 28 minute wait, mass amounts of bird poop everywhere and the barista telling you they accidentally put a little whip cream on your skinny latte but it should still be OK? Pulling out of the window where there was a sewage leak and getting all kinds of poop over your car and having to wait another 10 minutes in a car wash line. read more

This Starbucks really needs to focus on getting their customers in-out at a decent time...15 to 20 minutes or more is really ridiculous time to wait for a cup of coffee. I understand that they have a drive-thur, but something has to change! I have been here on couple of occasions, because of their outdoor seating, but one I will not forget; I waited 45 minutes, because one of the barista gave my coffee to one of the customer at the drive-thru. I was here with a group of people a couple of times this past week/weekend. The physical location was easy as its at a major intersection. We wanted to chat and relax with friends in a coffee shop. The predictability of the menu and atmosphere is what brought us to Starbucks, along with this easy to find, cross-street locale. The basics - This location has a large internal seating area with a variety of table choices and large restrooms. (Including the large group tables.) They offer at least one high chair. There is also an ample outdoor seating area on the parking-lot side away from the street. The Starbucks lot itself does not offer much parking but it is separated from other lots by a curb. Now there is something unique about this location. - I noticed that the (only) other indoor customers had head phones on - perhaps this is completely necessary . Starbucks music is usually innocuous & generally able to recede into the background without really being noticed. NOT here! After the first two kichy mariachi/mexican restaurant styled songs we were wondering if the staff planned to bring around chips and salsa. After the fourth consecutive similar song we were pretty disappointed not to have been offered enchiladas and the chips and salsa were still nowhere to be seen - They could have at least offered complimentary sopapillas for the oversight. Oh wait - this was a coffee shop review not a tex-mex review...... uuuugh I really wanted a coffee shop atmosphere and this is NOT IT! In the future I shall go elsewhere. There is another Starbucks at Barrow and 14th - I'll try that one next time. So where are my enchiladas? read more

Started the experience with a drive through so full and drivers hogging the driving lane that I couldn't park to go in until they moved up to the window. Later upon entering the barrista couldn't take my order for the life of me, i asked for a child size hot chocolate and she misconstrued my request several times for a small chai latte, later I asked for a tall size Carmel macchiato and she didn't even know her company size cups. She said three times "what size?" I Replied "TALL..." the seating was surrounded by cardboard boxes of what I assume were seasonal items... not easy to maneuver around either. When I got my drinks they tasted bland like the coffee was super weak with no flavor syrups. I've never had this kind of experience at ANY OTHER Starbucks EVER! So sad and disappointed. read more

This location is fine. Don't love it, don't hate it. The barista that took my order was probably one of the crankiest Starbucks baristas I have seen. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I suppose we're all allowed that every now and then. I didn't have a problem with slow service like some other people mentioned but I do have one other small complaint. My kids and I like to have fun with our orders and change up our order names. They love hearing the baristas call out "kids hot cocoa for Shark Boy!" (Or whatever name their using that day) when their drinks are ready. The baristas at this location just put the drinks out and didn't call that they were ready. Suck Farbucks. Just swapped engines in my motorcycle. Loaded down saddlebags. Rode in for holidays. Brought homework and tablet with me. 2 wheels education: bicycles and motorcycles DO NOT have a trunk and MUST have visible parking. I parked clear of the handicap ramp. 8in from motorized drive-thru parking. No visible parking i was asked to (leave) move. Plenty of parking at Big Country. So i moved my bike and the vibe is a lot less doushie. read more

I only wish there was another Starbucks in Abilene. This is the only one and it needs more space for the demand of their products. I went inside and ordered a grande redeye the wait time was approximately 10 minutes. Are they always rude at this store? Had 2 rough experiences previously that I chalked up to going on a busy weekend. Today there was no excuse. Not a line, nobody in front of me, simply asked to have some beans ground and was met with a snippy attitude.. "Did you buy these beans?".. well, I'd like to, but can you grind them first...? The reply I got was full of snark and condescension, as if I should know people buy beans, leave the store, then return to have their unopened bag ground at a later date. I'm done with this store. Barrows St. manages to juggle tighter constraints, goofier parking, a drive up window and still aware how being polite matters.
