Was a bit scared to swing by for a latte after seeing some of the reviews on here, but it's the closest Starbucks to me and my coffee maker died. Atmosphere was overall really nice! People out front lounging, drinking, and chatting with each other. Inside was quieter, most of the seating was taken - people on laptops etc. Staff was all very friendly! Gave us options if we wanted them, service with a smile - honestly some of the best customer service I've gotten at a Starbucks. Maybe we just got lucky, maybe management has since been turned over here. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? Latte was a bit under extracted - but, nothing too intense that made the drink itself not enjoyable. We'd definitely return the next time we are in coffee related dire straits! read more

First off I wanna start off review by saying treat all people with respect regardless of age, race, and ethnicity, etc. Firstly I walked in to the establishment to charge my dying phone which I needed to do in order to get in my Uber. But as soon as I walked in I was not greeted instead give a glare from the 1/2 barista at the cashier. I am a student so I do carry a bookbag. Though I'm a student I mean no harm but to get my food and pay like everyone else. As reaction to me being met with uncomfortable feeling from the stare I then decided to purchase something to make sure there wouldn't be any issues with me waiting in the establishment. I was then called by the other cashier(a black woman with a pink scarf.) She didn't not greet me even after I said hello but I ignored and continued ordering. Her attitude when I was ordering was very colorless and discomforting. For instance I asked her about adding strawberry juice to my caramel frappe and she continued to address me with attitude. (Keep in mind I've never had this type of issue at other Starbucks were as they were kind and understanding when I asked the exact same thing .) But yet I continued ordering I payed and left as fast as possible(when my Uber arrived.) The sad part is a family member who attends the college down the street has told me that many people also have told him about their horrible experiences there. At the end of the day if you don't enjoy your job that's perfectly fine but don't project that onto innocent individuals who mean no harm! Honestly wouldn't recommend this location as I've visited many other Starbucks for years and this location taste and serves as if it's attached to grocery store (which is not saying anything nice for a stand alone location). Upon walking in for a mobile order the main barista answered my question with such a dull spirit followed by another just scrolling through her phone. Once receiving a drinking the iced drink I can see particles floating in the drink and upon tasting it was not delightful at all. Yo, how is this store/location allowed to be open and operate? I am dead serious. I have *never* been to a more disorganized Starbucks in my life. I've been coming almost every morning for two weeks, and every single day I'm barely greeted. The employees have the most disengaging and discourteous dispositions. Horrible! That is not what anyone who actually wants to have a good day wants to be greeted with, first thing in the morning! Hello?! My signature order has been messed up, at least four times in two weeks, and I've also witnessed them screw other guest's orders up too. I believe this is due to how disorganized the team evidently is. They do not pat attention. I had a young man ring me up one day, and he completely disregarded what I ordered and asked him to do. Straight did what he wanted to--Or what he heard. Maybe the last order he took? Who the hell knows. The place is gross. It's a disaster behind the counter. The refrigerated foods, like the milks and whipped cream are left out. Just sitting there getting warm, with open tops and everything. I've watched employees text behind the counter and heard them cursing and joking (probably about customers), like guests weren't there waiting...for 15 minutes--minimum. Every single day. I can't even single any employees out, because they don't have names on their tags. I saw *one* Dee. She didn't suck. There was a kind employee named "D" I think? I can't even say. Tag wasn't clear or legible. Anyway, if you l can, avoid this location. Starbucks is too expensive for shitty service and subpar drinks made by them there baristas. The most inept employees ever. I've never been to a Starbucks that is so unorganized, inefficient in all the processes and just straight low level. They don't call drinks out. They don't get drinks out timely. They joke around. They have terrible customer service skills. They act unprofessionally. They are always out of items. They forget to make the food part of your order. The list goes on. It is the closest Starbucks to me and I have given it so many opportunities to prove otherwise. Update: Visited the store to return my roach laden oatmeal. Fortunately the manager was right there. However he claimed I had to get a full refund from Uber (my bill was $21 including delivery fees). He offered me two $4 gift cards. What was most disturbing was how cavalier and unsurprised he and and another young female employee were. The young lady looked at the oatmeal and said "yep those are roaches, I see the legs" and tossed it into the trash. While there I noticed a swarm of gnats flying inside the food showcase. This Starbucks needs to be shut down immediately! If these unsanitary conditions are so obvious, imagine what you can't see happening in the store. read more

This Starbucks is probably the most unprofessional Starbucks I've been to . I'd rather have a long wait time in Steeplechase or Woodmore town center. I opted for a mobile order and upon entering the store the baristas were loud and having personal conversations. It was almost as if there were no customers in the store with the way they were speaking. They didn't acknowledge customers but they continued to have loud conversations amongst themselves that had nothing to do with our orders. I wouldn't have minded my long wait if I didn't order on the app. Not only did I wait an additional 6 minutes but my drink was warm and all of the sweetness had settled to the bottom of the cup, which made no sense since I was waiting the entire time. Maybe my drink was just sitting with them, who knows. When picking up your drink before work the last thing you want to hear are loud conversations about what the barista did last night and how ready she is for her break at 8 in the morning. Management, please have employees trained on offering good customer service. Greeting customers & being professional goes a long way. The absolute slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. While the hot drinks were moving, no one was working the fraps. Definitely under staffed. The workers were out of uniform (Largo Volleyball t-shirt) and had no customer service skills. My wait gave me the opportunity to observe all the flies in the case and inside the overhead signs. It's a standard Starbucks, consistent with others (well staffed, clean, stock full of merchandise.) It's always crowded though. I find the vibe interesting: the best of Prince George's. I can't be the only one that checks out the vibe of a Starbucks, lol. It's location is flanked by residential neighborhood, the community college and Target. Church folk, the stylish fitness folk, bohemian naturalistas, etc can be found here. I guess it's typical of what you expect to see in a Starbucks. Saturday morning breakfast stop! I ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, coffee cake, and two caramel macchiatos! They were quite busy with online orders and typical traffic but I received all of my items in a reasonable timeframe and the baristas were friendly! This is the worst Starbucks that I've even patronized. They have made mistakes on my orders before but this morning they made a mistake and were rude as well. I use mobile ordering to save time, especially in the morning. This morning I ordered a latte and bagel w/avocado spread. When I took my order to my car I noticed that the knife to spread my avocado spread was missing. I went back into the store and was told by one of the workers that she would get it. She then proceeded to look in the bin for the fork and then started serving other customers. I waited another 2 minutes and then asked her when was I going to get my knife. She told me to wait until she finished what she was doing and then she would get me a knife. I left and waited until I got to work to eat my bagel. I wish I could say that this was the only time this location had disappointed me but that wouldn't be true. The staff there is usually very unprofessional and slow. The did have one worker who had great customer service skills and it seems that she is gone. Well, so am I. There is another Starbucks on my way to work on H St, NE. and they will get my business. By the time I get to campus and actually drink it, it's horrible like it wasn't even refreshing and I couldn't finish it. Very small cafe with 3 four-top tables and a few stools along the window. Drink is good and food is what you would expect at any Starbucks. My only gripe is the amount of students taking up the tables. Of the 8 students around the three tables, I only see one person with an item from the store. Too bad for paying guests like myself that will end up in the car, enjoying my sandwich and drink. Oh, they do have a few tables outside but it's 30 degrees. Love the mobile order feature, a handy gimmick that usually lets me skip the line, except at this branch, where I waited a good 10-15 minutes after ordering to finally get the item. In the meantime though, the music was great, with Jill Scott coming through the speakers, along with similar numbers that make you wanna groove, eliminating the irritation a long wait might otherwise cause. This is a pretty average Starbucks. Average drinks, average attitudes and average wait times. My 3 stars are mostly for kind service and good location. Whenever I have time during a weekend, while prepping for Uber, I pop in here. However, when coming here to do schoolwork, I have noticed that there are church/elderly frat groups/job interviewers who take up tables for up to 30-40 minutes and don't order drinks/Starbucks food. Also, the hotter the weather is, the more this "camping" activity occurs (management does nothing to discourage this, such as setting a table time limit). They treat the tables like it is a public park or a barbershop waiting room and have loud conversations. If you are busy, it can be annoying. Just a word to the wise. Note: On a hot day, last month, I did see some fruit flies buzzing around near the drink prep area. The only reason I saw them was because I had to sit at the counter due to a group of folks who were "camping" at a table. Could be a possible contamination/health risk... read more
