Where do they find these employees? Cold coffee. Old coffee. Only one kind of coffee to order. Ridiculous especially for what they charge

Good customer service. Most of the time these guys are super busy but do not let their customer service slip.

Somehow, despite the name - which reveals little to nothing - the place had exactly what I expected: coffee drinks, craft beer on tap, some food, a lot of vintage/used clothing for sale, music, art, and a place to enjoy it all. I sat at the bar/counter after poking through the clothes, drank a bit, snacked some, chatted, and learned that, come evening, the space is also home to live music. Rose Garden Market & Co. is covering a lot of ground. It's funky, unique, filled with a lot to look at and, with the exception of a beer priced - surprisingly - above $8 was a well-priced, quirky neighborhood spot that I enjoyed hanging at. The place is the opposite of homogenous or IG-friendly. Rather, it's a reflection of the owner who I imagine to be both an artist, an aficionado of vintage duds, and a fan of live music. Rose Garden Market & Co. is the antithesis of Starbucks and that's a very good thing.

The food was delicious and surprising, in that an item which might sound ordinary was absolutely and delightfully not. The serving sizes were so generous as to require either a large appetite or a desire to leave with seconds. The decor is bright, colorful, quirky-fun, and cheerful. I cannot recommend The Root Cafe highly enough.

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.

That said, I feel inspired to take a minute out of my life and find out that this restaurant seems like a hidden gem. We've never heard of it before, and Tosca pointed it out out of the corner of our eyes as we were passing by. I think the restaurant looks very nice, Tosca pointed out that it is adorable and the decor is very relaxing. The service was phenomenal, and the people behind the counter are knowledgeable and very happy to help. Our server recommended the whipped carrot feta thingy, and it was superb. I had the sausage egg and cheese burrito, and it was spot on. Tosca got the El Goodo bowl, and while the ingredients were amazing and very nutrient dense, the flavor was amiss. This was remedied slightly by adding the roasted pineapple salsa from my burrito to her bowl. She also got the Go Greener drink, but it was lacking something as well. Not bad, it just needs a little zest or something. All in all, very good, and we will be back to try some of these other delicious looking items.

It's not, I learned, but studying the menu at City Silo you'd not be wrong to consider that, perhaps, there might be some buried in your food or green drink. The names given to menu items here are all playful riffs on the names given to THC and CBD products elsewhere in the country. Aside from the monikers, the menu here is a fever-dream of wonderfully healthful-sounding offerings and the physical space in which to enjoy it all is seriously perfection. It's immaculate and well-designed and just a charming place in which to spend an hour or two. Between two of us, a "Green Light Go" drink ($10.50 for a small), a "Super Classy" acai bowl ($13), and a "Kind Veggie Burrito" ($11) were consumed and we left feeling that this place practiced what they preached: clean eating, that makes you feel good about what you've consumed but also that you enjoyed consuming. My acai bowl was packed with so much good stuff (greek yogurt, almond butter, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cashews, roasted pepitas, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, bee pollen, granola, and honey) that I wasn't even certain where the acai was. With an additional two outposts in Tennessee I can happily say that City Silo + Pantry would fit in perfectly in Northern California, perhaps in my neighborhood, where I'd be quite pleased to welcome them.

Walking into…read moreSugar Llama is a bit of a trip, it is impeccably clean and smells exactly like a nostalgic carnival, but the atmosphere is eerily quiet. Despite the sweet aroma, there was absolutely no one else in the restaurant, and the staff member present didn't even offer a greeting. You essentially order and pay via a small tablet kiosk tucked off to the side, meaning you can get through your entire visit with zero human interaction. The Price of Convenience We have to talk about the pricing because some of it is truly jarring. $3.19 for a single can of soda is, quite frankly, unacceptable under any circumstances. It is definitely a "convenience tax" taken to the extreme. The mini donuts are priced in tiers: 1 - $1.19 4 - $3.99 6 - $5.59 12 - $9.96 16 - $11.99 25 - $17.69 100 - $52.89 The Donuts As far as service speed goes, they are lightning-fast. We ordered 16 donuts in four different flavors, and the entire box was ready in just five minutes. We sampled the Cinnamon Roll, Strawberry, Cotton Candy, and Turtle. Every single one of them was objectively good. While these aren't necessarily "life-changing" donuts that will haunt your dreams, they are solid, tasty treats. If you are in the mood to try something new and don't mind the kiosk-style service (or the expensive soda), it is certainly worth a visit.
