I visit this store frequently, and always have great service but I don't know what happened today. I was greeted at the register by Genna. She helped me place my order correctly and redeem a reward that I had in my account. After the order was placed and I made my way to the bar. I saw a strawberry açaí being made at the time and I saw ice being added into the cup. I assumed it was mine. I said "excuse me" to the barista named D. Is that the refresher for Doug, if so I asked for no ice. Immediately Lilly takes over the conversation when I was not even speaking to her jumps down my throat and scolds me in front of the other family. "That's not yours, your drink isn't ready." It was embarrassing because there was another family there and this is how you respond to a customer? I continued to apologize to D for assuming, and Lilly rolled her eyes and blurts out I'm gonna drop my til, as if she's had enough and doesn't want to be there. It was just a nasty environment. I apologized again to D saying I hope you don't have to continue working with rude people. I do want the manager of the store to call me, because I do deserve an apology. I felt embarrassed to the fullest because I felt attacked. I wanted to say something back, but did not because she is a female. I felt belittled and overlooked that regardless of whatever, I was a customer first and this is not how you treat customers. Ill just go to the location closer to my house on 96th and Lex.

I stopped by while waiting for my husband to transform from a Grizzly Bear to the sexy m'fer I know he can be (his barber is around the corner) It's a small location, and for a weekday morn it's quite crowded. There is seating but it is quite limited due to the "campers" who have set up tent in the seating area. If you want a seat keep your head on a swivel and bring a friend. (I lost out on seating to a pair of teens waiting behind me) If you do find a solitary chair claim it for you kingdom and squeeze in where you can. It's a very clean establishment with a friendly staff. This is waaaaay out of MY usual stomping grounds but I am not adverse to waiting here in the future should my hubby requires shearing again.

If I knew that I had visited this location and had bad experience I wouldn't have come here again. I moved a block from here last week and I went here with my service dog every morning and lunch time for past couple days and nobody said anything they were actually upfront and nice to offer puppy chino but this morning one of the employees yelled at me saying dogs are not allowed. She didn't even care to ask if he was a service animal. Joe Thornton clearly mentioned that services animals are allowed in all locations and they constantly train and notify employees about the same. What a shame!!

Plenty of seating up front, plus 2 seated tables along the side

I like this location for its plentiful seating and friendly staff, but it is painfully slow even when empty and four baristas are behind the counter. It's conveniently located right above the 96th street Q station on 2nd ave. Outlets are scattered but functional. Decent spot to get work done and make the most of the Starbucks free refill policy!

The service here is a plus, baristas are very nice. This store is very clean, the staff are working efficiently all the time. I like the music they played in this place, makes you feel peaceful and comfortable. My go to place almost everyday!

I've only been here a couple of times recently on my way to work but it's great bc it's close to the the train, clean and has good seating. I don't think it gets too crowded at least very early in the morning. The baristas seem helpful and they even managed to write a note on the cup! :)

    It's back! S'mores frap!

    How's the coffee?

I've been coming here throughout the year and the coffee has been great. I typically order either the regular hot/ice coffee or a latte. I haven't tried any of the other coffees from this location so I can't really comment on the overall selections.

This location is right next to the 96th Street Subway station (Q line) and most times, I avoid going during their peak hours.

Yes, a kale salad and a guava waffle. Stay with me. The salad is fresh, savory, and hearty, especially with the grilled chicken. Then comes the waffle--warm, slightly sweet, and topped with guava rum butter that melts into every little pocket. Oh my goodness. Taking a bite of the savory chicken and kale, followed by that soft guava waffle, gives me the perfect sweet-and-savory meal. It should not work as beautifully as it does, but it absolutely does. And the brown sugar latte? Always. It's smooth, comforting, and sweet without tasting like someone poured syrup into a cup and called it coffee. The space has the easy, unhurried feeling of a neighborhood coffee shop, but the menu is giving a real brunch experience. It's cozy and beautifully lit during the day--the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed. The service matches that energy. Everyone is attentive, kind, and genuinely knows the menu. They always greet you with a smile and give you exactly the right amount of small talk: enough to make you feel welcomed, never so much that it interrupts your peace. The atmosphere, the people, and that guava rum butter keeps me coming back.

Make your own if you're not feeling theirs. It's worth it. Also writing this review because they are just quality people. I ordered a vegan pizza with some toppings but wanted pepperoni and that wasn't an option. I made a note asking if a substitution was possible, knowing it likely wasn't because of a price difference. I'm not vegan, but I needed a dairy-free alternative since I am breastfeeding a baby with a cow milk protein intolerance. The LOADED up my pizza. Truly stand-up humans. I ended up starving and looking for a place in the neighborhood for a breakfast sandwich. Rimar looked good from the outside, there were a bunch of banners announcing them as a "brand new" business having a "grand opening". Once inside, I realized that was probably not true. Looking around, I didn't see any coffee nor was there any kind of posted menu indicating the possibility of breakfast sandwiches. The man behind the counter was friendly enough though, and took my order for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll. He also indicated that he DID have coffee. Great! While I was waiting in the store for 15 minutes for my order. I noticed a woman (maybe another owner) casing the place down and staring at everyone who entered. I noticed that the rest of the store sold only a bleak selection of junk food. There was nothing interesting on the shelves! I noticed a man and woman come in, have an entirely transactional conversation and then leave, buying nothing. I noticed two separate hipsters walk in, look around and then walk out. I waited and waited. Finally, my order was ready. Without any register or paper calculations, the man told me my order was $10 exactly. Not feeling too good about that. The coffee was super hot and actually ok, I think he brewed a fresh pot on my request (thank you for that). The breakfast sandwiches were pretty awful. Greasy eggs, strangely chopped and super greasy bacon, you get the picture. I think Rimar could really do much better. They are in a great location without a lot of direct competition, in a neighborhood, that I am certain, would support a nicer deli with expanded options.
