Starbucks here close to my apartment had a new employee this morning. I went because I kept thinking about the pistachio chocolate pound cake. He was very informative about Starbucks method of pricing. The pound cake was $5.39! He said depending on the neighborhood the price may be less. I hate when businesses do that. The employee who weighted on me was much nicer today than in the past. It was fast pick up and go. She gave me the exact change Penny included. As for the pound cake it wasn't as tasty to my cancerous taste buds as it was the first time I had it. It was very soft fresh or maybe needed to be baked more. Mushy instead of cake texture. I saved half for my daughter. I checked out the merchandise. Manager said they will be getting Fall items soon. He liked my hat that Marilyn sent to me from San Diego. He said they won't carry it in Fall. In all it was a three star experience. They really won't see me unless it's a very unusual situation. I do love the hat design fit and quality!! Pro - it's right next to the Q train subway stop to grab a drink for the ride. Con - they still won't let customers use the bathroom. Kind of odd as they used to have it available for everyone. Especially when sitting around drinking coffee a bathroom is a must! read more

Other than one or two cups of unsweetened black java in the morning, I'm not much of a coffee drinker, and I understand no one goes to a Starbucks for the food. A visit to this location certainly bears that out. Other than a few breakfast sandwich selections and some concoctions called "egg bites," there's nothing there. I go to this location for a quick spot of lunch after an appointment at the nearby Metropolitan Hospital. The Strawberry Acai Lemonade is usually very good and the staff has always been very nice. There is no restroom, though, so plan accordingly, especially after drinking a large lemonade. read more

I visit this store frequently, and always have great service but I don't know what happened today. I was greeted at the register by Genna. She helped me place my order correctly and redeem a reward that I had in my account. After the order was placed and I made my way to the bar. I saw a strawberry açaí being made at the time and I saw ice being added into the cup. I assumed it was mine. I said "excuse me" to the barista named D. Is that the refresher for Doug, if so I asked for no ice. Immediately Lilly takes over the conversation when I was not even speaking to her jumps down my throat and scolds me in front of the other family. "That's not yours, your drink isn't ready." It was embarrassing because there was another family there and this is how you respond to a customer? I continued to apologize to D for assuming, and Lilly rolled her eyes and blurts out I'm gonna drop my til, as if she's had enough and doesn't want to be there. It was just a nasty environment. I apologized again to D saying I hope you don't have to continue working with rude people. I do want the manager of the store to call me, because I do deserve an apology. I felt embarrassed to the fullest because I felt attacked. I wanted to say something back, but did not because she is a female. I stopped by while waiting for my husband to transform from a Grizzly Bear to the sexy m'fer I know he can be (his barber is around the corner) It's a small location, and for a weekday morn it's quite crowded. There is seating but it is quite limited due to the "campers" who have set up tent in the seating area. If you want a seat keep your head on a swivel and bring a friend. (I lost out on seating to a pair of teens waiting behind me) If you do find a solitary chair claim it for you kingdom and squeeze in where you can. It's a very clean establishment with a friendly staff. This is waaaaay out of MY usual stomping grounds but I am not adverse to waiting here in the future should my hubby requires shearing again. read more

If I knew that I had visited this location and had bad experience I wouldn't have come here again. I moved a block from here last week and I went here with my service dog every morning and lunch time for past couple days and nobody said anything they were actually upfront and nice to offer puppy chino but this morning one of the employees yelled at me saying dogs are not allowed. She didn't even care to ask if he was a service animal. Joe Thornton clearly mentioned that services animals are allowed in all locations and they constantly train and notify employees about the same. What a shame!! read more

This is my go-to Starbucks by home and is located right by the Q station. The seating is comfortable and during the day and evening, there are a lot of students and freelancers working away on their laptops. It's a comfortable ambiance and the staff are great! I once had to run to catch a Via and the barista literally rushed my order to me complete with straw, napkin, and lid enclosure from behind the counter so that I wouldn't be late. I have also yet to see a barista in a bad mood here - which is MUCH more than I can say for the one on Lex/63rd. Yes - it is another Starbucks with the standard offerings but service goes a long way and one of the key propositions is to offer a neighborhood gathering place, which this location fulfills. If you need a place to camp out while getting some reading or work done in Yorkville, this isn't a bad option. PLUS, free coffee refills for Rewards members! read more

They absolutely refused to make my coffee the way that it's written in the app with the Frappuccino syrup and coffee I asked three times and then they just ended up being really rude. So then the shift manager came in and she was also rude telling me to step over here and step over there. All I wanted was my coffee made correctly and they were rude about it. Guess we go to the coffee shop or white round the way that's why nobody's ever in this coffee shop. The ship manager is the rudest person I never raise my voice nor said anything rude nor said any profanity but she escalated it. read more

Even when you are the second or third in line, you'd wait for 10 minutes while the baristas happily chitchat while ignoring the unattended counter. I try to come as little as possible even though I'm close... However this morning, I placed my mobile order at 8:33am while I was 3 stops away in the train I get there 0 min later and it's not ready. Which is fine I had time to wait. I let the barista know and she said it's not ready yet, which again is fine. I did not receive my order until 9am!!! Which left me late for work. One of my favorite Starbucks in the city. Baristas are attentive. Drinks are created quickly with care even on busy times. I usually order a vanilla sweet cream cold brew. This location is one of the few that actually always has the cold brew and the sweet cream. They also always have a good stock of sandwiches. read more

Great Starbucks with very attentive staff! This location is right next to the 96th Street Subway station (Q line) and most times, I avoid going during their peak hours. I love the decor of the place and its food/beverage options, sometimes adding a bit more pizzazz when compared to your regular run-of-the-mill Starbucks. Overall, a win in my book! read more

Brand new starbucks opened right next to the 93rd st entrance to the new 96th st train station on 2nd avenue. Been going here for my regular starbucks fix since it opened and so far so good. Friendly and attentive staff along with shorter lines compared to the other 2 locations nearby. Definitely the best one among the 3 within a 10 min walking radius. I imagine it will probably get more crowder once the subway is operational. Seating is limited as this location is smaller than the other 2 but they've made good use of the space. read more

I have been to a shit ton of Starbucks in my life, in different cities, airports, and different shops within New York City and this place is something. When it's all windy and cold outside, I ordered a cool lime with no ice and she not only mixed cool lime with berries, had the drink spilled with liquid on the cup, but the drink was 2/3 filled. I get that when people order no ice the cup is not as filled, but I have never seen it like this and I drink cool lime refresher on a daily basis. When I asked the girl she was so rude and said that's what I get for wanting no ice. Who says that? I live above this Starbucks so having this convenience is itself a boon. Usually i just order on the app and go pick it up as there is a smaller chance of my order being incorrect. Staff are always friendly and I have never had a wrong drink prepared for me. This is mine and my husbands goto place for coffee on the regular, and by far our favorite in the neighborhood. My one caveat are the massive number of very young students who flock here and take up space without being mindful of other peoples space. They usually show up around 2 to 3-3:30pm, therefore I avoid at all cost. That would be my one negative observation of this location, but is not indicative of starbucks itself. Other than that i love this place, they know what i like and how i like it. I dont enjoy going to other Starbucks because they always get my drink wrong, but these guys are the best. Here I am on a hot humid day and trying to cool off to buy some Triple Mocha Frap so I gave my $20 bill to the cashier and then he started feeling my $$ then he said huh this $$ doesn't feel right of course I'm little confuse cause I got the money from a bank so I told him do you have a marker that can prove if it's fake or real so he walks to the back and then he spoke to I'm assuming supervisor or manager and she started feeling the $$ and she just said if you think it's fake then it's fake. I mean it would't hurt to go in the office and mark the damn money to see if it's really fake so I ended up going to a convienent store and have them check it which they did and right away said it's real because if $$ is fake it would leave a dark mark on the $$. So I came back to starbucks 10 mins later and tri d ordering my drink there's an employee up front sweeping she told the other employee to come up front to take my order so I'm waiting......and waiting then he comes out then told me I just had to make sure if it's real then he goes out to take some garbage and then he comes back in and I'm still waiting for another 5-7 mins so I said f*** it I'm leaving. This is by far the best Starbucks as far as Customer Service is concern the entire staff make it a point to know their customers and make them feel welcome every time. Except for one. I was told she's the Manager "Daisy" which it's absolutely mind boggling since management supposed to set the example for the rest of the staff. I would have given this location five stars a month ago but the service has gone way down-hill. I ordered a venti frap w/ espresso, light ice. I have learned from experience that when they add espresso they need to remove some ice or it will create more frap than fits in the cup. Once in a while, they make more than the cup holds and I tip $1 for the extra in a separate cup. This time, they absolutely refused. There was enough left over in the blender for another full venti cup. I figure that I paid for those ingredients and I wanted them. So, half of the espresso and base went down the drain and I ended up with a very weak tasting drink that did not give me the caffeine that I wanted to get me through the day. I will be looking for another shop, but the location is nice for me now that the near-by 3rd Ave. shop is closed. A nice location is not enough. read more
