The customer service was amazing and they were detailed in bagging the drinks and leaving the straws in. They also left samples out for a drink which I've never seen a Starbucks do. From awesome to dreadful in a few short months!!! Management should be fired. This used to be a fast, friendly neighborhood store. Engaged employees greeted you when you opened the door. They were happy and smiling. Store was clean, stocked and organized. Now, employees are stressed, not happy, and always behind. No more greetings. Counters are cluttered with crap, floors are wet and dirty. Orders take forever. If you use your mobile app to order then add at least 10 minutes to the quoted time. Ok Yelp, I really wanted to give my honest opinion on this location because in the past couple of months I have heard horrible reviews. Overall, this place has gone way down hill. I was a regular here for years before I moved to Tucson, but I still come here when I'm in town (which is often). This place is not the same without the employees I had come to know and love. Employees like Manas and Nick were amazing baristas. When they worked there the whole place was beyond great. Customer service was always great. Employees knew their customers and some even remembered orders. I don't know any of the employees currently working here and they don't really seem to care to try to know their customers. Which isn't a requirement, but it does make a difference in the experience. My trip today - no greeting when I walked in. The place was empty, with the exception of one small family sitting in and one person in line in front of me. Now the holiday may be a reason for this, but typically this place is packed at all hours and there are regulars that used to sit in all the time. What I found unprofessional was the staff having a personal conversation with each other from several feet away, basically yelling to each other (one of them I believe was a manager). While I was waiting for my drink staff continued to have personal conversations behind the bar. I ordered a venti iced white chocolate mocha with almond milk, no whip, and ice on the side in a smaller cup. My total was $5.85 but I used a free reward on my Starbucks card. My drink wasn't mixed very well and I was given a venti cup full of ice. If I were to rate this location based on all of my experiences here as a whole in the past 5 months, I would give it two stars, but based on this trip I will give it four. However, I will continue to update my review in the future. To paraphrase: this used to be an amazing Starbucks, definitely 5 star rating worthy. All things considered, this is one of the best Starbucks I've visited. Parking is ample, seating is available (including a patio for when it's nice), and the staff does well. In all, they keep it tight for being the only coffee shop in the area. That said, I'm pretty much over Starbucks as a brand and an industry leader. It's not reflective of this store -- which is a 5/5 for being a Starbucks -- but the recent overall corporate positions. Now, hey, I get it -- you've got investors and profits to be made etc. And I don't discount so many of the good things Starbucks has done to date. But that goodwill, on which Starbucks built its brand, is ever-eroding with every new corporate release and product announcement seeming more in line with something you'd expect to hear from Coca-Cola or Yum! rather than Starbucks. I'm very disappointed like beyond disappointed and very pissed off. I order a venti caramel Frappuccino with peppermint, which is what I got but dam it taste like cough syrup. What I mean by it is that you taste more of the peppermint than anything else smh. I mean if I literally wanted peppermint than might as well throw a lot of them in my mouth. I took a sip from it and I can still taste the strong peppermint on my throat. I ordered 443pm. I gave you 20 min before I asked for it. It says my drink was going to be ready by 450pm. She had the nerve to tell me it's just an estimate. I said, how much longer is it going to take? She said she has the order. I said is it going to take 20 min to make a drink? She said yes in a rude tone. And asked if I still want my order? I said I've already paid for it. And she said, you can get a refund! Wow lol not that I want to loop back to the other side to the cash register to get a refund. I'm like I'm here waiting for my drink. Seriously the entire time she was being rude, she could have just been honest that she missed my order and it's coming up. I would recommend Starbucks to train their people better. It was a rude black chick who had no name tag on. Like most Starbucks the service can be slow, but the manager here is amazing! I always do an online order and it's pretty much always ready when I get there. Only once have I had a problem with an employee. Ordered two coffees, one decaf and one not. Watched her make them both decaf. Second time at this location, it is a small location that seems extremely busy all the time. There is no drive thru, but a huge number of mobile orders for pick up. The employees were neither friendly nor unfriendly to the customers, their smiles are definitely reserved for each other... But I appreciate the fact that the barista never stops working and steadily puts out the orders. There is more outdoor seating than indoor seating and behind the counter where the food is the area appears clean from what I can see. The lobby and the bathrooms are not very clean and the windows and window sills are extremely dusty. I can't imagine they do more than sweep or mop once a day in the customer areas. This is a story about an experience (one of many) that I had working with the store manager at this location. One time during a busy shift I needed to use the restroom. I made sure I got all the drinks out and then asked the barista that was working with me if it was okay for me to use the restroom. (MICHELLE THE MANAGER WAS NOT INSIDE THE STORE.. SHE WALKED OUT TO GRAB SOMETHING AND WAS GONE A FOR A WHILE) They said yes. Mind you I left no drinks and there wasn't any customers when I left. I come back and Michelle yells at me at the bar INFRONT OF CUSTOMERS calling me irresponsible and all this and that. I do not remember exactly what I said. (This was a while back and I have not healed from how she made me feel) She yelled at me multiple times! From the beginning I felt like she wanted me out. I'm glad I do not work there anymore.
