We went to visit Laveen Danzeisen Dairy and started off at the ice cream bar where we tried a variety of homemade ice cream samples that they make on site with their dairy and cream. Some of our favorite flavors were the strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate, butter pecan and cotton candy. I also ended up getting their seasonal latte, which was the cookies and cream. Their staff member was so kind letting us both try an assortment of flavors. You can also try their different milk flavors and my kiddo wanted to try the banana milk which he loved and it tasted like banana taffy to him. My kiddo played on their dairy truck, which had a variety of little toys inside. We sat at one of the tables enjoying our treats. I know in the past they used to offer tours, but they don't have that anymore. I'm hoping that maybe they'll have it again sometime in the future. Inside the dairy refrigerator, there are many types of milks. You can choose from whole milk, 2%, half and half, heavy cream, cookies and cream milk, strawberry milk, chocolate milk, coffee milk, banana milk and cold brew. Also, there was a variety of juices like lemonade, strawberry lemonade, orange juice, limeade, cherry limeade. Keep in mind that a two dollar deposit is required for each bottle that is purchased however, you can return those bottles at any location that sells Danzeisen. (Danzeisen, Safeway, frys, Whole Foods, sprouts, etc.) What a cute spot to check out while we were on this side of town! The highlight would definitely be the variety of ice creams and shakes offered! read more

I got a few different flavors of milk including strawberry and chocolate and whole milk and strawberry lemonade. The strawberry milk is my favorite! Over the years we've used various Danzeisen items.. usually the specialty milks. But we stopped drinking milk and switched to heavy cream over 2 years ago. On a quest to find cleaner minimal ingredient heavy cream for our fatty coffee and cooking needs, I rediscovered Danzeisen again. But usually the local stores would be out of stock or the expiration date is a day or two out. Enter my first trip to the dairy store to get heavy cream about 2 months ago. Everybody inside the store is super friendly and helpful. My HC is almost always in stock. But I still call ahead before making the drive. And I can get a free cup of coffee from the little coffee bar with milk and creamer in the fridge next to it! If we used HC infrequently, I'd just purchase Danzeisen from the grocery store. But I buy, at minimum, 6 pints each trip, depending on the expiration date. And a pint of HC from the dairy store is $4.99 (plus bottle deposit). The savings per bottle alone is worth the 25 minute drive each way for me every few weeks. :D read more

Can only say this place is amazing. They serve ice cream they make in house, sell glass bottles of fresh milk and you can ask for samples. We bought small bottles of chocolate and strawberry milk to try and also a quart size bottle of coffee milk. Amazing stuff! We ordered 2 scoops of strawberry ice cream on a cake cone, big servings, it's worth the $7.95 a waffle cone will add $1. Cute inside with an old milk truck and a play area for the kiddos. Oh my gosh! This place is amazing! My husband and I each got a "stack", which is a shake topped with a bunch of amazing treats. The pumpkin spice stack was topped with two pumpkin donuts AND a fresh, hot mini pumpkin waffle. The shakes tasted so fresh and were the perfect consistency. They are more milk-forward, but that's how I want my shake to be. It didn't taste like fake, overpowering flavorings. Each stack was 10.99, which was reasonable considering we also got a sidecar each filled with MORE shake! The service was fast and friendly. The shop itself isn't huge but even on a Saturday afternoon there was a spot for us to sit and enjoy our shakes in the store. Ive seen Danzeisen in the markets but never went to the dairy in person so I figured I'd give it a shot. The parking lot was packed around 4:30 when I went so that had to be a good sign right? Upon walking in it was clear they are renovating the front but I was taken back by the wide selection and how fast the lines were moving. Service was exceptional and I was fortunate enough to be helped by Manuela who helped me at the register. She was friendly and clearly took pride in her job as she was greeting everyone with a smile. Popped in here on Memorial Day. The store was not too busy and located in a quaint spot right off of the highway. The first thing to grab my attention was the awesome selection of farm fresh milk and coffee! They had banana milk, peach milk, and handmade cold brew alongside the rest of the regular whole, 2%, strawberry and chocolate milk. A half gallon of fresh milk will only put you out about $5.99, and I feel that price is definitely worth the quality! The ice cream itself is DELICIOUS - be prepared to be full of sugar and milk after stopping here. They also have a vintage milk truck for kids to explore and play around in. Great ice cream that you can taste the quality and freshness that it's homemade. Unlike any other regular ice cream and worth the drive. I also love their milk flavors, my favorite is their chocolate mint milk during the holidays and their cold brew and coffee milk that's available year round. Only negative I'll say is the service at the ice cream shop is very awkward. Some of the employees will not say a word to you. We took the butter class and had a good time making different flavors of butter and had buttermilk pancakes the next day. And we also ordered 2 milkshakes after class and they were HUGE and delicious. I love it that you get the pretty glass with the shake and fix-ins, and you get a very generous serving in the metal container as well. We could not finish them. Stopped in, finally, for a root beer float. I can't seem to find anywhere else that has a root beer float on the menu. So, what a great excuse to sample some Danzeisen Dairy ice cream with a bottle of IBC Root Beer. I was a little surprised that rather than coming in one of the big milkshake glasses the float comes in a smaller plastic cup. You are given the remainder of the root beer in the bottle.
