The Signature Red Slow Cook Beef was outstanding.

It's always good to walk into an ethnic restaurant and see it is full of the same ethnicity. It shows that the restaurant makes quality food the right way. We returned to Almuerzo for a visit a year later. My wife ordered JR's Favorite and a Bloody Mary again but I got the Red Slow Cooked Beef Benedict and an iced tea. Before tip, it came to $47.18. Our brunch arrived in 10 mins. The chillechilles were full of pulled pork, with lots of chips, plenty of tomatillo sauce and two nice, runny eggs. Perfect. My Benedict was every bit as sumptuous, piled high with savory, braised beef on a corn cake, beautifully poached eggs and hollandaise sauce over all. I didn't see the cotija cheese on top though. Also, my potatoes were a scant 10 half pieces of red potatoes, but I was full after eating nonetheless. Our service was excellent, despite sitting at the back table. Return visit planned but sooner than a year.

Cute little gem in Laveen! I am so excited we finally tried this place. We arrived around 12 pm and were sat inside immediately. It's a tiny, unassuming little spot -- there's very limited seating but you have patio options as well. They offer specials every week along with their regular menu. I ordered The Chef's Favorite with poached eggs and my partner ordered The Green Chili Benedict. Wow! So much great flavor in both dishes. The Chef's Favorite comes with red chile beef on top of a thin corn cake with your choice of eggs and their house sauce. Also comes with a side of Almuerzo papas or hash browns. It was delicious! I am not normally a red sauce girly but this one was out of this world delicious. The beef was tender with a hint of spice and went so well with the corn cake and the poached eggs. My partner's dish was tasty as well. The green chile is served with either pork or chicken and a side of papas or hash browns. He is quite picky with his food and clearly enjoyed this dish. Prices are fair and service was pretty quick. Check it out soon if you're in the area.

Almuerzo is a cute little brunch spot located in a plaza off of 51st Ave and Southern. The food is great quality and good tasting. I haven't had the opportunity to come as often as I would like but so far they made a good first time impression. Staff was friendly and customer service was prompt. Will return to try other items on the menu !

Stopped in here on a Sunday morning for some yummy brunch! The place does have limited seating inside and they do have outfit seating also. It was definitely a mom and pop place and it was delicious! They have a ton of options for an everyone. The service was amazing. She was attentive and kind and in a good mood. The cooks were laughing and joking which made for a fun ambiance. The food was spot on. I just wanted a lighter dish so I got the toast, it was hard to choose because they all sounded delicious! And they were! We will definitely be back! If you are in the area stop in and give them a try! You won't be disappointed!

As a regular customer, I've noticed a decline in quality. This morning's chilaquiles didn't seem prepared correctly the tortillas were not crispy or deep fried, just cut and served as is.

Hot, fresh food with a Mexican flair. We chose to sit outside because it was beautiful and the perfect temperature for enjoying a nice brunch. The service was phenomenal, down to earth, and helpful, with suggestions and refills frequently. I ordered the green chili omelet with chicken, a side of potatoes, and sourdough toast. The flavor combination was fantastic. The spice level was perfect, and it served beautifully on the plate. My dining companion ordered chicken and waffles served with maple syrup and a perfect hint of spice to complement the sweetness. The chicken breading was light and flaky, and perfectly fried chicken tenders were used. My only complaint is the pigeons that walked around on the tables, chairs, and ground and pecked at the different tables.

Unfortunately, they were sold out when we arrived. The staff was kind enough to offer a discount due to the inconvenience, which I appreciated. We decided to order the shrimp pasta with crab meat instead (two orders totaling $48). The food itself was enjoyable, but the wait time was a little longer than expected -- it took almost an hour for our order to come out, especially considering the restaurant is open until midnight. I understand that things happen and certain items sell out, but I do hope the restaurant can work on communication around popular items and improving wait times. Overall, I appreciate the effort from the staff and the discount they provided, but I wanted to share my honest feedback because we were really looking forward to the experience.

Decided to use the restroom to give them a bit more time to get it together, and still nothing. The women's bathroom was also completely out of toilet paper and paper towels at 11am. I notified the staff and even still, no one came to check in with our table. Super disappointed... was really looking forward to trying this place. Shoutout to the girl taking photos though, appreciate you and our photo.

There is a sign on the door. I never read it because I have been eating here and having meetings and telling the whole community about the great food and great service. My grandson has a medically documented sensory and texture disorder that restricts his food options. On this particular visit, we brought chicken nuggets to accommodate his dietary needs. The waitress informed us that outside food was prohibited and must remain in a bag. Despite explaining his medical condition and my status as a regular patron, the situation escalated when I spoke with the owner. I acknowledge that I became vocal about my patronage and expenditures at the establishment. One year later, I remain committed to informing my community about this experience. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over twenty years, I am familiar with the principle of reasonable accommodation for customers' needs. Rather than seeking a mutually acceptable solution, the establishment chose to enforce policy rigidly. This approach demonstrated a lack of consideration for children with special needs. I have discontinued my patronage and actively discourage others, particularly those who understand special needs challenges, from dining at Country Griddle. For a decade, we have served special needs families, understanding that dietary accommodations prevent additional trauma. My grandson apologized for the incident, which I assured him was not his responsibility. The fundamental issue remains that Country Griddle prioritized policy enforcement over compassionate customer service, even when a simple exception could have resolved the matter.

I should have known better when the waitress said they hadn't received their shipment of white gravy, and all they had was brown gravy. White gravy is butter, flour, and milk. It's just about the simplest thing for a kitchen to make, and they get it in a box. Worst yet, they can't make any from scratch while they're out of the boxed stuff..? I'm going to guess the brown gravy came out of a box, too, because it was unremarkable. The CFS was clearly frozen. Very chewy, and not much flavor or crunch. The menu used to be colorful and full of photos. Now it looks like the first Microsoft Word Template someone clicked on. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hash browns were decent. My guest had the corned beef hash and she was too full to finish it. So, I tried it and it was pretty bland, and looked like it came out of a can. I'll give them a second star for knowing how to cook an egg, but next time I feel like a good breakfast on this side of town, I'll just go to Denny's. Denny's is much better than Kay's.

I really enjoyed the grits and catfish and also a birthday pancake that was given to me by the establishment. I thought that was a really nice gesture, and it was delicious. The vibe and the food for this establishment is five stars. What I take issue with is the lack of glassware. I think if you're gonna offer sparkling wine or mimosas or even champagne, you should have the proper stemware. I thought that the mimosa flights came off very low brow and there was no way I was drinking out of what looked like glass baby bottles. When asked for a wine stem glass, they didn't have any. And I actually believe the server which they need to do better IKEA is not that far you can get some wine glasses. This is essential. I did also see that they had some upgraded bottles for bubbles and I wish I would've saw that on a menu as I would've purchased an upgrade it Prosecco or champagne. However, I would've been livid if I purchased an upgraded bottle and had to drink out of thick cognac glasses. Anyway, I would come back here, but I just think they need to do better on the actual glassware. It would elevate this establishment.
