I know is not an easy task to find smiley faces in Paris but I have never seeing such a terrible customer service, specially the people on the night shift (I arrived at This location 20 minutes before closing) just to have a to go latte and the greeting was a very rude French women, who said " beware we are closing in 20 minutes so it can only be to go, all sitting areas are closed (I don't know what that means, because they were not), and no elaborate or cold drinks. On a different ovation during the day I ask for my latte, they wrote my name in the cup and when they call my name someone else grab the drink very quickly, before I had a chance to say anything and pour some sugar on it, I told the barista if you can call them that here, that someone else took my drink and if he could make it again for me because of the mixup, the employee acted very bother and offended that I didn't take the drink from the other person, so he went and took it from the other customer and try to give it to me, which I off course refused after and I had already said I wanted a new one to be made since this person had already open the lid. While in Europe it is still a Starbucks and for the very over priced coffee that we as customers are wiling to pay the customer service as well as products should of high standards and according to the Starbucks culture.

We walked around to look for seats first before ordering. It is very crowded, with people on their laptops, or groups of people relaxing and having drinks. We saw a group ready to leave and we took over the seats. The menu is a bit different from the menu in the States. They have an array of donuts which seem to be one, matcha, and whatever. Slices of cakes. I was absorbed in admiring the walls of ceramic cups with all the different cities names. I like the stainless tumblers but no luck finding ones with Paris or France on it. The same tumblers as in the States. They have a bear with a pink cherry blossom, but it is wearing blue, not the signature Starbucks green. We got lucky and managed to snag one of the outdoor tables. One of my friends ordered the hot chocolate while the other got a chai latte and an espresso. I ordered a decaf iced latte as I was pregnant at the time. When ordering we did have some discussion with the employee as my friend who ordered the chai initially wanted a dirty chai, which the employee explained was just not done there because they have a special chai spice blend that is not well served by adding espresso. When my friend ordered an espresso on the side with the pretty obvious intention of dumping it in himself, the employee looked pained enough that we promised to try both separately before doing any mixing. In the end, the employee was right and my friend conceded that the chai was really wonderful on its own. He described the flavor as being more cardamom heavy than a typical chai and enjoyed it so much he got another one later that afternoon when we returned to Batignolles. Meanwhile, the hot chocolate was really rich and delicious, not too sweet as it was made from a dark chocolate. The elaborate unicorn " latte art " was a nice touch that my friends and I really appreciated. While the drinks were beyond reproach, the service was a bit slow and the space is super tiny so it's more of a takeaway spot. If you're a coffee or tea aficionado, this café (along with its other locations in Paris) is a must-try.

Luckily my laptop was charged because there weren't really outlets available. The work from a coffee shop concept isn't quite the same in Paris, and I have found Starbucks is one of the few places you'll find people sitting around all day with their laptops for wifi. Coworking spaces and anti cafes are more popular here but very expensive. Starbucks is a great choice, but in popular locations, seats will be hard to get. I wouldn't choose this one if I needed to get work done, but grabbing coffee with a friend (if taking it to go is a backup option) is a great idea! The inside is so beautiful. Otherwise, I'd make sure to get here early for a good spot, but even then, you'll have other guests hovering over you all day.

Perhaps there are so many people using the wifi that it's so bad, but I ended up turning off wifi and using my regular service. I also learned the Starbucks app is not universal. There is no way to use it to purchase a drink because it can't convert euros to dollars or the other way. I charged the drink on my credit card.
