It's Tyson's Center Mall folks! Please chill! Okay I take that back, as this shopping center is always busy. Quite often when I get coffee, it's a way to relax or take a step back from the mess of everyday life. Sometimes it's a hot chocolate, and theirs is very good. Also I tend to lately get the mocha or cookie and cream frappe. Don't tell me the calorie count, as just want to pretend that they don't exist. Starbucks coffees aside from the Christmas or Yukon blend, are in my opinion overpriced and overrated. Their coffees seem to have a burnt aftertaste. No it's not awful but I'll concede that it is strange. Then again some coffee snobs probably like it like this. As for the staff here, props to them considering the crowds of entitlement. I can't really relax here, but it is the location after all. Their folks are polite and friendly, with my hat of respect off to them for a job well done! read more

This Starbucks in the first coffee shop you'll see as you approach Tyson's Corner. I came in early afternoon on Black Friday and it was packed. I decided to brave it since I was freezing. Glad I did. The line went very fast. The employees behind the counter were very friendly. I noticed they had a nice selection of cups and other gifts at the front. read more

I find that most chains, are created just about equal... Starbucks is not one of those. Cleanliness, service and product quality really vary from location to location. This review is for the starbucks located in the center of the bottom level of tysons mall. Unlike the starbucks located close to the macys I've always found the service here to be prompt, employees friendly and the store to be well kept up - except for the shakers of flavorings, they always seem to be out of the cocoa. As mentioned above, product quality can vary greatly from store to store. At this starbucks I've found the espresso to be smooth and my drinks have always been made correctly with just the right quantity of ingredients - read no syrup overload. I usually go for the Americano with soy. If I'm feeling especially adventurous, I may throw in some syrup. It's a simple order but one that has come in sub par at other locations, this one seems to do it right. read more

He was like the only barista there working super hard to fulfill orders. Two dopey dudes behind looking like they were having fun and taking their time as this one guy was super diligent.... I hope Starbucks promotes him... I ordered using the Starbucks which USUALLY prioritizes your order so you don't have to wait... It doesn't really work here. read more

This is probably the better of the 2 Starbucks that are in Tysons Mall. big caveat though - make sure it is not super busy if you want a good cup of coffee drink! On occasions when there have been less than 10-12 people in line, I have never been disappointed by my drink! Store is generally clean - though there have been times when the sugar/ milk table has been messy. read more

I don't think I've ever had such a terrible experience at any retail location. I've frequent this Starbucks for years. Over the holiday season things have gotten pretty bad. There's this barista, Jae, who ALWAYS smells like weed. For some crazy reason he's always on the register. He's always lost in his head, writes all the drinks incorrectly and doesn't even know where he is. If you wanna get high, cool. But don't do it at work. Especially not a places where families come. The whole store can smell this guy. Everyone complains about him. My partner has called several times about this guy. Clearly Starbucks doesn't care. Wow. My company's main office is practically attached to Tyson's Corner Center, so we get coffee from this location pretty often. It's 1 of 2 Starbucks locations in the mall; the other is on the 2nd level plaza. For the most part, I've gotten what I expect from any Starbucks location. I've never had to wait a terribly long time for my orders to come out. One time I placed an online order through the app that included a cake pop, but the wrong flavor cake pop was given to us. This Starbucks only opens at 7:30 AM on weekdays, which is comparatively late for a Starbucks location. If you wind up getting here too early, I think the other Starbucks in the mall is open earlier. This location is also pretty tiny; there's just a few tables inside the store, and it doesn't seem like it'd be a comfortable place to work because the line and the displays take up so much of the available space. There's a seating area right outside the Starbucks, but it seems like it'd be better for socializing than for working. The wifi works fine, and the mall itself has very usable wifi as well. The staff I've encountered have all been friendly. Overall, a pretty average Starbucks location. read more

This starbucks always has a long line! It is Tyson's corner so understandable. Today I was in line for about 20 minutes and there were 3 people working. 1 person was in the back and that left 1 on the register and 1 on the bar. They pump out drinks very slow. I think it was a new guy behind the register because he made an error and charged a customer or 5 drinks when they ordered 4. I gave up waiting and just decided I'll be back later when their less busy or more organized which ever comes first =p. There is another starbucks towards the center of the mall. Maybe this store next to macy's is understaffed =/ I'm not sure but this one just goes slow as molasses. I've been in lines longer that moved quicker. The manager here was on point (male with the only red apron on). The staff was swamped with orders and everyone had a terrific attitude. The manager even noticed that it had been my first time using the mobile app. I hope they keep up the good work and continue to get those drinks out! read more

I don't drink coffee or tea, so the only drinks I ever get from Starbucks are smoothies or a Caramel Apple Spice. I once ordered a Caramel Apple Spice, but they had run out of the apple juice they typically use to make this drink, so they took a handful of the kid-sized juice boxes from the display to make my drink. Nice! I also like that Starbucks stays open a bit later than the other stores at the mall. It gives me somewhere to kill time while I wait for my bus late at night. read more

I just stopped by this Starbuck's inside the Tyson's Corner Mall this past Saturday. Both the cashier and barista taking my order of the iced coconut milk mocha macchiato and chocolate hazelnut croissant were polite. Additionally and fortunately, my drink and croissant came out delectable and was paid for by my husband. I admit that I tried to get the unicorn drink but the cashier explained that their store has actually ran out of the supply for the drink. She even shared with me how other Starbuck places in their district/region tried to get the ingredients for the Unicorn drinks to be available at their stories from their store. Obviously, my decision on whether or not to try to get the popular unicorn drink from either the Starbucks locations in Hyattsville, Maryland andor College Park Maryland (closest to where I live) is a decision for another post. read more

This location was as good as any other Starbucks. I just have a problem with Starbucks in general as they are way too expensive for the product that you get. They make it sound like the food and drink you purchase is healthy and wholesome. Wrong! The new coconut milk they offer has coconut cream in it yeah, but the first ingredient is water and the list of ingredients is just crazy. Grab a can of Coconut Milk in the store and look at the ingredients, number one is coconut milk followed by water. That's it. Two ingredients with the coconut being the most plentiful in the product. Most of the products are not GMO free (although studies do show no difference between GMO and non-GMO on the human body, some people are very funny about GMO products). Most of the products are not Fair Trade certified and honestly I think the coffee just tastes burnt. When I am in a hurry though, it is almost guaranteed that a Starbucks in right there and I can deal with the cold brew. If you think it's healthy, take a look at the calories in some of these products. Insane unless you just get a shot of espresso or coffee black. If you don't care about Fair Trade, GMO's, calories, or what is in your product, and you happen to enjoy burnt coffee, have at it. Starbucks is for you. I am not bashing Starbucks, again, I drink it when I am in a hurry and I actually like the cold brew. With a splash of half and half it has a smooth nuttiness you don't get from the fresh brewed coffee. read more

I'm not sure how you distinguish yourself when you have three of the same franchise within a 2 minute walk of each other. But I was here. And I got the same consistent service and over-roasted coffee that I get at every Starbucks. I realized after I got my LARGE (I refuse to say "Venti") latte with skim milk (I refuse to say "skinny") and an extra shot (I refuse to say "triple") that there are other options in Tyson's I for coffee. But at least with the Big S you know what you're going to get, for better or worse. read more

I had mentioned this to the manager once and I was told I need to add an expresso shot for an additional price. there is another Starbucks in Barnes and Noble, I suggest you make the trip because this Starbucks needs to attend a training. One girl was serving as a cashier and filling orders even though there were several other employees already doing so behind her. She was not paying attention and skipped over us in line. The man behind us knew good and well that he was not next but he still gave his order and was just as much at fault. The girl did not aplogize for her mistake and instead talked in poorly coded language about us while she and her colleagues filled orders. I am a regular here, and this is one of my favorite SBs in the area. The staff is always friendly (and there is always enough of them). It can get slammed at times, but the wait time is never unreasonable. There isn't a ton of seating, so it is usually tough to find a good seats, I'd recommend one of the other ones nearby in the mall if that's your priority. read more

They even remembered my name even after a long absence from visiting-very much a Cheers vibe. I'm writing this review as I drink the sad cup of iced passion tea that I waited 30 minutes for. I understand, it's holiday season and all the kids are out of school. But what I want to mention is that the employees here need serious training. Seeing the guy next to me wait 15 mins for a cup of iced water is ridiculous. Learn to juggle your tasks, prioritize and keep your customers happy! It doesn't take that long to put some ice and water into a cup. There were two employees taking orders while there's one making drinks. Why don't you have two people make the drinks and one take the orders? People waiting to order can still browse the selection of Starbucks merchandise around them. Do you know what makes customers angry? It's that after you've taken our money, we have to wait 20-30 mins for the drink. I patiently waited there until I saw two employees walk out from the back just filling cup lids. Asked them to just give me a passion tea with water, don't bother shaking it. And yeah that took 30 seconds. I won't be visiting again. read more
