I am so glad I found this little gem that's tucked away less than 5-minutes from my dentist and ortho office! Now...I'm not sure if I was supposed to wait a certain amount of time before I ate after a cleaning...but I didn't! lol. I was so hungry and was in the mood for sushi. Being a big foodie as I am I love finding new restaurants to try and this was did not disappoint! Parking was easy they had some right in the front of the restaurant reserved for customers as well as a garage for more parking spaces if it got crowded. Walking inside it is a small cozy space and because I was by myself I was seated at the sushi bar. I told the sushi maker my food order and the waitress my order for wine. I tried the Merlot and Pinot noir which the merlot was so luscious I got another glass. So my order was fries shrimp shumai, Ile yellowtail combo which came with a yellow tail sashimi, spicy yellow tail roll I added cream cheese, and yellowtail nigiri. So fresh and so pretty how it came out! Aesthetically pleasing top notch! They gave me a few freebies seaweed salad and edamame and a side dish of pickled condiments very tasty. So being the big back that I am I ordered more to go and it was the Ile salmon combo and substituted spicy salmon roll with spicy tuna roll add cream cheese. Very impressed with the sushi here! The Dynamite roll, seared salmon roll, and 2 & 1 roll were delicious and the fish portion and quality were great. Atmosphere was cozy. There was only 1 server tending to the whole restaurant though, so had to wait a little longer to order and receive our food - was not a big deal though. Came here because my coworkers recommended it, and I was very excited to get some coffee with sushi. The sushi was REALLY good. The tyson roll is like a crab with shrimp tempura, and the crab on top had a really nice smoky flavor. I also really liked the location because its in an office building, but the inside really gives me Japan cafe vibes. I was a little disappointed that they did not have either pastries or coffee despite advertising 3 things: sushi, coffee, and pastries lol. I have to say that I'm really shocked by the raving reviews of this place. We got the calamari as appetizer, sashimi combo A, and one of the signature roll combos. The calamari...WHAT IS THAT? This was $16 for a total of maybe 6-7 pieces of calamari on the plate with majority being onions and peppers. We felt extremely ripped off for $16. The sashimi combo was okay, but the tuna tasted a little off/bad and was mushy in a bad way. For the roll combo, I don't understand why they'd put two extremely similar rolls in a combination together (they were both shrimp tempura rolls), and the rolls kept falling apart as soon as we picked them up. Not nicely wrapped at all and was hard to eat because everything was falling apart. I feel like they spent majority of the time just decorating the plates. The grilled fish is Ok..a bit on the dry side but the wife liked it. They also start off the meal with a small corn soup and seaweed/edamame salad which is gratis. One comment - the restaurant is on the small side and they had one server at dinner so be prepared to wait a bit longer as it definitely has a 'mom & pop' vibe with limited number of servers. Delicious food! The tuna is delicious and the flavours are light but delicious. I loved the corn soup taster that they share, try adding a little soy sauce to it. The soy sauce itself was a little sweeter than usual and that added to the flavour profile since it wasn't just salty. We went for brunch. The Takoyaki was a nice surprise with more octopus pieces inside than most restaurants. The sushi combo was incredible. I'm pretty picky with nigiri but all the pieces in this set were amazing quality, especially the toro and salmon belly. We had to get another order of just the toro. What's unique about the nigiri here is there's a light brush of sauce on top that's slightly sweet, almost like a very light sweetened soy sauce, nothing overwhelming but a nice touch. It's always high quality fish and the appetizers are pretty delicious too. I will say though that I do prefer the nigiri over the rolls. My go-to order is the crispy nori, ile salmon combo, and one of their sushi combos depending. The owners are korean and super friendly, and really accommodating to our wasabi requests. The first time we came here, we noticed they put a lot of wasabi in their nigiri - so the next time we asked for a little less and it was perfect. In the DC area, I have never had such high quality sushi for such a reasonable price. Most places I have been to are overpriced for what you get, and you end up leaving hungry afterwards. If you're coming to Cafe lle on the weekends, you may have a wait so I'd recommend making a reservation. Keep in mind that the size of the restaurant is on the smaller side so this also contributes to the occasional wait. Let me start with the food. My go to order is the sushi combo B as it comes with plenty of fresh fish for me to eat. You have to start off with the spicy sashimi salad as you get fresh pieces of sashimi with a delicious gochujang sauce. The only area of improvement for this restaurant I'd say is sometimes the service can be spotty. There have been a couple of instances where there will only be one waitress serving the whole restaurant. Even with the spotty service, it doesn't take away from me giving it a 5 star rating because this is not a sushi place where you're spending $200+. read more

Despite the name, Cafe Ile is a sushi focused restaurant tucked away in a nondescript building in Tyson's Corner. While my wife and I often opt for "Americanized" sushi rolls with multicolor sauces and a variety of ingredients, we actually prefer nigiri and find it challenging to obtain high quality options in the area. Cafe Ile came recommended for omakase level nigiri, so my wife and I checked it out for a Sunday lunch when the craving struck. Parking appears limited to the spots in front of the restaurant; an attached garage is available but costs money after 30 minutes. Upon entering, the ambiance we encountered was warm and clean. We received excellent service from our inviting and sweet server, including a few complimentary bites. We opted for one of sushi combinations which offered a variety of nigiri along with a spicy tuna roll. We appreciated that the fish offered in the sampler platter included higher end varieties without cheap cuts. The nigiri we sampled here represent some of the best fish we have tasted in a non-omakase setting, and the chefs clearly take pride in their craft. Specific highlights included melt in the mouth yellowtail and salmon belly, fresh and clean madai and shima aji, and perfectly meaty chu toro. The precise knifework on all the pieces enhanced the natural textures of the fish, and each nigiri arrived perfectly seasoned. We dug the rice here too, as it possessed the appropriate slightly firm texture rather than the typical mush offered at most other local restaurants. We also ordered the "double decker" specialty roll for good measure. The generous quantity of similarly fresh fish, restrained yet flavorful saucework, and structural integrity of the roll congruently impressed us. Finally, our food came with fresh grated wasabi, a well appreciated cheffy touch. While our meal was not cheap (about $120 after tax and tip), we felt the quality of what we received very much merited the cost. Furthermore, we have paid the same for careless sushi in the area. As such, we will gladly return to Cafe Ile for more top notch nigiri. While easy to miss, this small restaurant is a must visit for any sushi enthusiast. read more

However the waitress was very hard to pin down to take our order and, when she finally arrived, she seemed a bit in a rush and just not pleasant. People can have tough days or things on their minds and we've had good service before so don't want to knock them too much but the place was over half empty so expected a bit more timely service. Wow. Everything was SO fresh and ridiculously good. I highly recommend coming here and dining in if you're in the area. While the service is a littttle slow, the food and ambiance more than makes up for it. I was excited to hear about Cafe Ile, a Korean-owned and -run sushi restaurant in Tysons, so we decided to come check them out for dinner. Unfortunately, the initial reception we received was not a positive one - when we stepped inside, we were asked if we had reservations or not; the way in which one of the servers asked was extremely off-putting, and whether that was her usual poor delivery or what, it made us feel unwelcomed. Mind you, while there were some tables with a 'reserved' sign on them, from what was observed, they weren't filled the entire time that we were there. We responded that we didn't, and it felt like a whole situation, finally ending up with them 'finding' us a table in front of the sushi counter. Honestly, I wanted to walk out. One of the sushi chefs, who seemed friendly and kind, noticed and tried to smooth over this not-so-great interaction by providing an explanation that they usually don't take reservations, but on this particular evening, it seemed as if many were craving for sushi and they were getting more than the usual flow of walk-ins - we thanked him for the side note. We ordered: +one of the Plate Roll Combos - this came with: a California roll, a mound of spicy tuna, shrimp tempura roll, tuna double, and a spicy tuna shrimp tempura combo; there were also some pickled cucumbers and a ginger/wasabi on the side. Definitely a large platter than can be easily shared between 3-4 people and aesthetically well-presented. The place does not kid around in terms of spiciness, so when an item is described as 'spicy', it has a kick! Overall, the flavors were fine, and the freshness was more noticeable here compared to other sushi restaurants in the area; I'm not really a fan of specialty rolls and such, as they tend to contain a higher ratio of rice and drenched in sauces; the rice could have been packed a bit better, as they were more on the 'loose' end and fell apart somewhat easily. I think I would probably stick with their sashimi or nigiri to focus more on the fish if we were to ever return. We were hoping to order some toro, but were disappointed that it was out, and there wasn't a notification/update of that anywhere. There were 'complimentary' side dishes/apps that were provided as a 'starter': a seaweed salad (a vinegar-marinated seaweed salad; this was tasty and refreshing), edamame (could have been more salted/seasoned), and an ika sansai (boiled squid salad that's marinated in a soy-ponzu sauce; a tasty dish, but the squid was overcooked/too rubbery). There was also a small cup of 'corn soup', which tasted like cornstarch slurry with some kernels of corn, dashed with a sprinkling of ground black pepper. Again, first impressions count, and this place really left a sour taste - it was funny, since that same server's tone and engagement with specific clientele and other parties was a complete 180 from what we had experienced. The interesting thing is, if you check out the other reviews on this business across the various platforms, there have been several mentions of this specific server's unwarranted attitude, but the business continues to provide excuses for her and keeps her on their staff. I'd probably ask for the sushi counter and request a specific server or, to avoid the unpleasant service altogether, just place a to-go order. What a gem and such cozy beautiful space nestled in hubbubs of Tyson's Corner. We had an amazing Sashimi combo A and B. Don't let the word 'combo' make you think this is a budget meal. The definition of a hidden gem. Tucked away in a very small parking lot with unassuming signage is this upscale sushi bar with some of the freshest fish I've ever eaten. The service is top notch. Everyone in the restaurant greeted me when I walked in. They were not too busy when I stopped by around lunchtime on a Friday, and helped me right away. Their menu is extensive and on the higher end, but worth it for the quality FOR SURE! Writing this review with mixed feelings as our overall experience was not great and not sure if that night someone called out and they were understaffed. 1) our reservation was at 7pm and it took them almost 30min to come and take our order. They did explain it was a mistake and there is a difference between two combos. Then there was interesting sake pricing. There is a small bottle of 300ml and 600ml but for the price of large bottle you can buy 3 small ones so we pointed out that it makes sense to buy smaller bottles instead of big one but I am not sure if they understood that. The lady looked confused about that. 3) poor communication about the wait time. We never got any heads ups about the wait time. They took our order around 7:30pm and our food arrived almost 50min later. They gave us a complimentary dish and apologized for the wait but I definitely would appreciate a heads up. The cafe was pretty busy and we saw many people ordered for to go. It looked like to go orders were prioritized over ours. We had 3 people at the table and ordered 3 combos. An actual fresh and good sushi spot! The fish in the roll tasted really good quality and was impressed by the amount of fish in the rolls. The spicy roll actually had spice in it which is such a nice experience. I like that they have ample combo options which are reasonably priced for how much food they give you. My friend and I got a total of 4 rolls and it was around $30 with taxes. Place was way smaller than I thought. The parking garage was a little confusing on where I could park. read more

Tinyyy little family run place but cute inside! The service was prompt at first but then was slower as the place was closing. Sushi was super super fresh and big rolls even for the simple classic ones! I tried the tuna avocado, salmon mango and the yellowtail jalapeño roll. Everything was so delicious! Pretty good sushi place! Typically order it to go but I will try to inside the restaurant to get the full experience. Even ordering it to go, the presentation is well done. The quality of the sushi and fish is also really good! I really like how they use fresh wasabi and it really compliments the sushi well! My favorite so far is the eel roll and there is so many flavors going on where you dont need soy sauce! Highly recommend! read more
