We were hosting a celebration of my father's life and my niece called Nolan's two weeks prior to…read morethe event for information. At that time she was told she could call up until the day before the event to secure a tent. She called 2 days before and was told by the first person she spoke with she should have called two weeks earlier to secure a tent. This person told her that they only had smaller tents available and the tables and chairs we needed. 10 minutes later we called back to secure everything and were told their system was not updated and we could get the tent but not the tables. After another 3 calls and speaking with different people every time, it turned out they could only provide the chairs if we picked them up. We ordered from Hank Parker and were very happy with the results.

We rented a cotton candy machine and bean bag toss for our kids' birthday party. Machine came with instructions and was easy to put together and then take apart to clean. Easy enough. Communication - initially it was fine. Michele got back to me in a timely manner and was pleasant. Online at least. When I went in to pay i spoke with Deb. Less than personable. Additionally, the young lady who sits to the right nearest the door was a bit obnoxious to my husband and our neighbor who went with him for pick up. Now. Here's where it gets crazy. Upon my first visit in to pay, I was asked by Deb for my 'NY ID'. Let me explain. We are a military family. While we own a home here in Webster, for the time being, we maintain our home of record in Texas, meaning our driver licenses and car tags and taxes alllllll remain Texas based. Hey, here's something for you to remember Nolans..most military families do the same and do NOT change licenses with each PCS (that's a military orders move). That's a federal option we are allowed, and oh yea, covered by several acts and policies put in place just for military families. I explained such to Deb and was told oh that's too bad that is our policy soooooo maybe bring a friend or neighbor who has a NY license? Ok, one, no, not cool. I'm pretty sure legally you can't ask that. Two, my husband and myself have not only our Texas driver licenses, but ALSO FEDERAL military issued id's!!!! But of course this was not good enough and nobody in the front office would produce anything written to show this, NOR would they allow my husband to speak to the owner, this ' Bernee' guy. He was told to call him if he wanted, and was even hassled about that by the young ladies up front. Some eye rolls were also thrown about and some attitude was given towards my husband and our neighbor. That all is very inappropriate and not good customer service. Also........!!!!!!! Nowhere on the website OR quote OR contract is it stated ANYWHERE that the only for of id allowed is a NY state one. Nowhere, Nolans....are you following this?? So you're not only rude but you have an UNWRITTEN bs 'policy'. Folks, bottom line... Nolan's is very military unfriendly. Don't worry, we'll make sure to pass he word along to not only the fellow families who live work and spend money when we move here to Webster. But I have no problem passing along how incredibly crappy you are in your treatment of military members and families to the battalion planners and those who might seek out your services for large functions. The "love letters" by the way...HUGE hit with everyone! So fun! We didn't go with the photo booth, but everyone was taking pictures by the letters! It was great! Extremely disappointing wedding DJ experience…read more The venue, food, and wedding itself were wonderful. Unfortunately, the DJ was the biggest disappointment of the night. The couple considered the DJ extremely important and actually booked the DJ service before booking their venue. They initially met the company through a wedding expo and were very impressed by the DJ/salesperson they met there. Unfortunately, the DJ who ultimately worked their wedding was someone completely different. The experience honestly felt like a bait-and-switch. The ceremony music was barely audible, including the bride's entrance. At the reception, the DJ made virtually no effort to create energy, interact with guests, or get people onto the dance floor. The dance floor remained almost completely empty. The moment that says it all: I asked the DJ to play "Never Been to Spain" by Three Dog Night because my husband and I had practiced a special dance to it. She told me it wasn't on her list and declined the request. I became emotional because this was something special we had planned for the wedding. Eventually, after someone else intervened, she played the song--and the dance floor immediately filled. I had five different guests come up to me afterward and tell me how much they loved the song. It was obvious people wanted to dance; the DJ simply wasn't reading the room. Requests from other guests, including the kids, were also delayed or denied. The groom reportedly had a request denied as well. The DJ's scheduled end time was 10:00 p.m. The bride and groom had fully intended to pay for additional hours, but after the experience that night, they decided it simply wasn't worth it. Instead, they left their own reception and went elsewhere. Within minutes, the reception essentially emptied out. I understand the couple didn't complete the company's formal online song list, although they did communicate their preferences by email. But a wedding DJ's job is much more than pressing play. It's reading the room, creating energy, handling requests, making announcements, and helping make the night memorable. Unfortunately, this DJ failed to do those things, and there was no follow-up afterward from either the DJ or company. For a couple who cared deeply about their music and were prepared to pay for additional DJ time, this was an incredibly disappointing experience.

Not a terrible quote but we did not realize at the time that quote was a set minimum. So if our numbers changed we would still be paying for minimum 45 people. Sadly we had a smaller number and still had to pay for the difference. That was confusing and a little upsetting. I also remembered mentioning that I wanted to sub the alfredo for mac and cheese but the day of, no mac and cheese. Other than those things, everything was nice. The tables were set when we arrived. Our dedicated staff were so sweet and helpful! The food was OUTSTANDING. Even the alfredo. The place was clean and tidy. They had no issues with our decorations or anything. Everything was very laid back and all about what we wanted and needed. The staff never made us feel rushed towards the end of our time block or anything. As we cleaned up, they moved in to set up for their next event. It was very nice overall.

I have worked with Flower City Rentals for 4 years. This year we had the worst customer service…read moreever and because of it will no longer be using this company. We rented a blow up slide as always from them and had no communication the week of about when they we would be dropping off or to confirm the order. I called them the day of and they acted annoyed that I was calling to see what time they would be coming. When they finally arrived they set the slide up backwards so the kids would be sliding into our fence. When I asked them to turn it around they did but were clearly upset about it. Since we rented a waterslide it needed to be hooked up to the hose. They had nothing but difficulties hooking up the hose and actually broke the piece that was to hook up. I saw the set up people all look at each other like "Oh Crap" they said they couldn't get it but kept insisting they had to go and then left. When my husband got home from work he confirmed the waterslide was not going to work with how they left it. I called the office which was closed, I then immediately emailed them letting them know we were having issues. My husband and neighbor were able to get something to work but not perfect as we now had a water shooting out of the connection but there was water on the slide. My husband and neighbor also had to move the deflated 18ft waterslide from side to side to get the trap underneath the waterslide because when the set up crew adjusted the slide they didn't fix the tarp which was no longer underneath at all. On Monday I received and email from the company insinuating I was lying, requesting pictures and said they would give me $50 since we were able to use the waterslide. When the same guys who set the waterslide up came back to pick it up one went to the bathroom in my neighbors yard (all of which was caught on ring camera). Even after all of this the company said too bad. Good Customer Service and appreciation for repeat clients goes along way. This company has neither and clearly doesn't care about anything but making money. They have now lost ours forever and don't suggest anyone rent from them.
