Our catering company paid a deposit for creation, production and installation of custom decals for our delivery vehicles. We quickly learned that "advertising" the commercial nature of our business when delivery meals to rehabs in residential communities wasn't good. Neighbors don't like anyone associated with the rehabs so we never actually placed a purchase order for the decals, opting to "fly under the radar" in those areas. Multiple requests for reimbursement of our unused deposit (in writing) were ignored. We find this unprofessional and untenable. The response from the business is made of the stuff matadors step in. The company added exactly 5 words to the "art" we provided and the invoice clearly states we paid a deposit to be applied to the printing of the signs...signs we never ordered so there was no "final order" and if they are going to come back later and charge $200.00 to set five words well...you prove my point. I would never agree to such a ridiculous amount, I'm a publisher and your staff said the graphics fee would be $20. You are liars and cheats. read more

We used Starfish Signs to put up the sign in our office, and we used them to take our sign down. So we've interacted with them a couple times over a 7 year period. In terms of putting the sign up they were really good. They did a good job in creating the sign- it was aesthetically pleasing and durable. The did it cleanly and efficiently. In terms of taking down the sign they left a bit to be desired. We were quoted $250 for 3 hours of work. We asked for a discount because of the current financial situation with my business, but we were told because of the complexity of the process and the driving time that was not possible. The gentleman came down and finished the job in 17 minutes. I was a bit perplexed as to why it took only 17 minutes when we were quoted for 3 hours. I paid the gentleman upon completion that day. There is damage to the wall, which will require painting again. I can't help but wonder if he'd have taken more time that day if some of that damage could have been lessened so as to not require painting. Today I notified the president of the company as to what occurred. He said the quote included driving time as well. I've not heard of that before, but fine. Driving time was 64 min round trip that day. That still doesn't justify pricing $250 for 3 hours when it took only 1 hr 20 min. When I brought this up to the president during our phone conversation he had no response except to say sorry. He even went on to say he gave me us a good price because we were a returning customer. There was no mention of this on any previous conversation. What company that wants to make money does a favor for a customer without somehow letting the customer know? Answer= none. Part of good service is not only beginning the job (putting up the sign) but also completing it (taking the sign down). I think the company was substandard in our second interaction with them. If we had it to do over, we would have researched other companies in the area and considered going with another company.
