Years ago this place had the best steak sandwich. I decided to give it a try since I had not been in forever due to it being a nasty dump. They did a remodel recently and it stays packed so in I go. An employee is at the end of the counter chatting with someone across the counter. She sees me and says nothing. The person on my side of the counter says "she can help you down here". I walk down and the employee makes a remark about being difficult to see her, I'm guessing because she is of a petite stature, but I had already noticed her down there with her long black hair looking at me, but not calling me down As I walk down, another lady comes up and takes my order instead. I order the Rustker steak sandwich , I ask her what comes on it and she says lettuce and tomato, I mention no tomato.I also order the onion rings and a diet Dr Pepper. I wait maybe 5 to 7 minutes for my food. I get out to my car and realize that it's all cold. The onion rings are cold. The steak sandwich is cold. The steak sandwich has lettuce, mayonnaise tomato, and pickles on it. I removed what I did not want from the sandwich and ate maybe half of it and three onion rings and threw the rest away. The steak sandwich is no longer good. Even if it was hot it is nothing but a thin chopped patty. It used to be something they hand battered in the restaurant when I ate it years ago. The onion rings are absolutely tasteless. Even with salt added, they were flavorless. This entire meal cost me $17 and I can assure you that I would have enjoyed trashy McDonald's better. 0/10. Had a chicken gizzard basket from Stark's Family Restaurant! Honestly never again, I received 5 gizzards and refried french fries for the cost of $9.95. Chicken gizzards market prices are $1.99-$2.50 per pound! Yet I was served not even an 8oz serving and with old twice fried french fries. Called and spoked to would be manager on duty, she didn't even try to fix the problem. I absolutely say avoid at all costs, unless you wish to throw away money! read more

Lots of cars. Drive thru was packed. Cheese curds were herby and the sauce with it was nice. Catfish was my second favorite. I had Lima beans and field peas. Both needed salt. Given the customer volume I'm assuming this is some of the better food around. God help the good people of Mississippi. read more

Went in for lunch on 2-28-24, ordered hamburger and fries with a side of fried green tomatoes (extra) $4. Burger was great, but the tomatoes where literally soaking with grease and COLD! Went to the counter to try and have another order made for me and was told the bowl was hot, basically I was lying to her. Needless to say no replacement or refund even offered. Do better Starks first time ever been treated with such nasty attitude. The lady at the counter was the same that was at different times bussing tables had a boot cast on foot. read more

Nothing to look at on the outside or inside for that matter but Damn, the catfish was fresh, juicy and delicious. The staff was very nice. Order at the counter and have a seat. Glad I skipped the fast food joints and stopped at Starks. My wife had the burger and wolfed it down. Says it's the best burger she's had in years. Great job y'all! read more

I would drive 50 miles out of my way to get another burger here. Literally the best hamburger I have ever eaten. At least 1/3 lb meat so perfectly cooked. Get it fully dressed with cheese! The definition of a hidden gem. Friendly folks. Don't judge this book by its cover. read more

The food is good. It is kind of like a diner atmosphere. Try the blooming onion extra crispy. We will go back here.

Perfect example of Mississippi roadfood. This family owned diner/dairy bar is a local favorite. I try to eat here as often as I can. Breakfast lunch or dinner. All good. Super nice people working here to boot. Get the bacon cheeseburger. read more

Passing through town, saw lots of cars in their parking lot (usually a good sign), and decided to try it. Bad mistake. Both my wife and I ordered off their plate lunch special with totally different meat items and vegetables. ALL tasted like they were cooked previously and sitting on the counter for an hour. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak (size of a McDonald's chicken nugget), I ordered the chicken livers (decent portion, but just not even warm). Very disappointing and underwhelming meal. read more

Go for the local fare! The food was great, lots of homemade and fresh fare to choose from. A little slow, but worth the wait. We tried the burgers, catfish sandwich, onion rings, kids chick strips, corndog, fries, pecan pie (sadly prepackaged Sara Lee), and milk shakes. Yum, to all and WWAAYY better than fast food! Bathrooms are small and could use tidying up, but it wouldn't stop us from coming back. read more

Everything is frozen. We had the shrimp platter. Before I ordered I asked if they were fresh and butterflied. I was told yes on both counts. My son even refused to eat his burger. I tasted and it tasted freezer burnt. Will not go back again. read more

Roadside diner in a small town. Good location near I-55 exit. The fried catfish was actually pretty good. The shrimp poboy was made with what looks like the popcorn shrimp in the frozen food section of the grocery. The sundaes etc. are made with soft serve vanilla ice cream. The diner has all of the standard chicken strips & burgers as well as tacos (??) and some other random items. Better than fast food but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

If you need a stop to eat off the highway this place is alright. Chicken fried stake was alright. Service was alright. The gravy seems as if it was straight out of a can. But all around alright. read more
