The Martin Jr in stock was hanging with the other guitars was ready to play & she set me up to try it out. They had a good selection Martin accessories including a good assortment of guitar strings including the Martin brand so I also bought a spare set of the Martin LifeSpan Phosphor Bronze Light strings. I was short on time so did not get a chance to fully take in the ambience & experience of Dan & Sara's music store, but reading up on Crossroads before hand on their website & stepping into their store, I felt the warm embrace of some good vibes, and appreciate their community involvement in local music events in this very charming waterfront town. I like contributing to local businesses so I not only walked away with a very nice Martin acoustic electric guitar, it felt rewarding to give back. I hope to explore more of the Washington peninsula & look forward taking more time visiting Port Townsend & Crossroads Music.

I was just stopping by to check it all out on the way to the beach, but did get a set of new strings for one of my electrics, something I need to do more often like others should, buy accesories local to support these brick & mortar music stores with that in person vibe. Barter for a great deal. Think of this place as a type of pawn shop as far as what they carry. They will buy used gear from you or trade. Pretty kick back attitude and funny signs all around the store. One thing that I noticed is the guy that works there can be left to man the fort by himself and it seems that all hell breaks loose when this happens (phones ring off the hook, customers come in with all sorts of questions, etc.). He handles the rush really well, so try to cut him some slack if he is busy. I see so many rude clerks and staff at places that are snotty for no reason at all, so when I see this guy busting his back and keeping his cool, he deserves some common courtesy. We purchased a used sax for my son a couple months ago. Was told we get a free inspection and…read moreadjustment, including up to 2 new pads. We left it with them and picked it up a little later. Fast forward 2 months and my son is complaining now that his skills have increased and his private instructor said to get it checked out. We dropped a light inside in a dark room and there is light everywhere with the keys closed. If you press really hard you can get rid of most but not all of the light. Paying Ted Brown $225 to get a couple new pads, a hole leveled, and a couple bent keys fixed. My son has babied this thing so I know it's not new damage. I doubt they actually looked at it. Buyer beware. Otherwise we are happy with the purchase, just won't be going here for servicing.
