quite a drive for me living just south of Olympia, but well worth it, next time will give myself more time to enjoy the area & this amazing music shop. found Crossroads had the Martin in stock I was looking for thru the Martin website, had tried a big box music store near Seattle but pretty much ignored so walking into Crossroads & immediately greeted & attended to by Sara, one of the owners of the "mom & pop" musical instrument shop was very pleasant. The Martin Jr in stock was hanging with the other guitars was ready to play & she set me up to try it out. They had a good selection Martin accessories including a good assortment of guitar strings including the Martin brand so I also bought a spare set of the Martin LifeSpan Phosphor Bronze Light strings. I was short on time so did not get a chance to fully take in the ambience & experience of Dan & Sara's music store, but reading up on Crossroads before hand on their website & stepping into their store, I felt the warm embrace of some good vibes, and appreciate their community involvement in local music events in this very charming waterfront town. I like contributing to local businesses so I not only walked away with a very nice Martin acoustic electric guitar, it felt rewarding to give back. I hope to explore more of the Washington peninsula & look forward taking more time visiting Port Townsend & Crossroads Music. read more

Great selection! They had many more Ukes than your average Guitar Center and many higher end models including KK and Martin that can be hard to find even in Seattle and Bellevue. The owners were friendly and helpful and encouraged trying out different ideals. (I loved the wonderful KK baritone) and gave useful and helpful tips on restringing. My kind of music store - they are passionate about their stuff and it shows. read more

Super music shop! Great selection of ukuleles and guitars. Staff is wonderful, professional, knowledgeable, no pressure and shop is super clean! They have a repair technician who does excellent work! Was looking everywhere for a Recording King Lap Steel and CM had one in stock so I grabbed it. Model RG-35 wow this plays and sounds much much better than the price would lead you to believe. Very satisfied with this purchase, well packed for a long journey to Chicago and it was brand spankin' new without a thumb print (which does not always happen with certain mega-stores where I got "B" stock items supposed to be new). Dan and Sarah are the owners and have helped our family connect with everything from the right gear and books , to many fun musical Christmas delights over the years. Mike and Annaleese' are at the helm often as well and are very knowledgeable musicians. Don't forget their secret weapon upstairs " George Rezendes" - luthier extraordinaire. He personally has rebuilt a family heirloom 1940s guitar for us that plays superbly , not to mention saving my rear when I've had electric jazz body guitars with mechanical issues - days before concerts. Crossroads Music is about as good as it gets. I purchased a new Martin (DC-28e), a Yamaha keyboard, an Boss amp, and a bunch of smaller miscellaneous stuff from them, and each time the experience has been the same: a great selection, knowledgeable staff, and no pressure to buy. Their guitar inventory is pretty amazing for a small shop, and the luthier who works there is top notch...he repaired a large crack and a broken strut on my beloved Seagull and she sounds like new again. Every community - especially one as musical and artistic as Port Townsend - needs a good local music store, and I feel lucky to have Crossroads so close. We recently rented a sound system from Crossroads Music for our wedding and were blown away by the personal service, competitive prices, and quality equipment. We almost rented the equipment from a place in Seattle, but after researching, realized we could get better equipment from Crossroads for a third of the cost! Crossroads has everything you could possibly need for your music needs- they have musical instruments, lessons, strings- literally EVERYTHING!! And they're super friendly. I wish I lived in Port Townsend and knew more about music just so we could give them more business!! Next time we need to rent a sound system we'll be going to them without a doubt! read more

Good selection of guitars for a small shop. Small quiet intimate feel. I only drop by on vacation becAuse I live 2 hours away. But everytime I'm in the area I do drop by. Staff see courteous and helpful. They won't try to sell you something you don't want or need. No pressure to buy. I like that this shop carries Name brands.Huge selection for ukuleles and stuff. A fantastic little music store. I spend as much of my time in PT as I can, and have bought the odd bit of equipment from Cross Roads to take back for my business in Canada. I am not a musician, but need recording equipment. I've had superb advice on gear from the guys here, think the pricing is very reasonable and the service is superb. But I think the real point is the amazing collection of instruments, guitars in particular. Clay is the owner and he's just great to talk to about anything from music to what's going on in the town. The music community here is vibrant and full of real talent, so if you are a visiting muse-o, you should be stopping anyway. I was recently schooled by Josh, a part timer, in many things about recording and a/d gear and it was very helpful. It's great to be able to support a small local business and buy direct. I usually buy my recording equipment from L&M in Vancouver or Calgary, and I know all stores in the category are being hurt by big bad you know who.
